Chapter 9: Hound Chase [Bonus Chapter]

The map of the apocalypse area was open wide in front of my eyes. Almost yawning, I continued smoking the cigarette as I hopped from alley to alley with the hound following me.

Was the being chasing after my ass dangerous? Sure was.

Was it also a fucking weak mutt? Sure as hell was.

The map showed the many different safe spots on the way to the end where I had sent Relafan to. He would handle it well enough for the mutt to die inside, but I did think I should be giving him some time.

"GRAA!"

The mut screamed, it was still just the first scenario and all the situations were clear as day.

The way I saw it, any normal person could clear this scenario by killing the hound that growls out so loud.

I had thought it would be fast but…

"Woop."

I jumped out of a thin alley and got to the main road again. Just two more turns around the block and I would be in front of Relafan again, but…

But…

[Villain: For every evil deed, you get a 5x experience booster]

Just how useful was this experience? And what kind of booster was I going to get? I really really wanted to know.

In the end, I sighed and pivoted on my feet.

"Come here stupid mutt!" My scream resounded in the air, and the mutt growled.

About 10 minutes… I could probably make my cigarette hold on for ten minutes. It seemed like a stretch, but it was possible.

My target was the other safe zones. I could manage.

With the mutt in tow, I started running toward the other safe zones in our path. Not over them, but around them.

The mutt followed.

Its body bumped against the barriers placed around the safe zone as it hit the buildings all around them, bringing many to fall near them but it all was blcoked by the barrier again, keeping the safe zone safe in the truest sense of the word.

Time was starting to run out. I jumped into the nearest safe zone, just around the barrier easily passing through it.

[Detox in process…]

The mutt was right behind, I couldn't let it stop or lose sight. I ran along the barrier of the safe zone while the mutt followed, grinding its head against every bit.

[Ding! Detox complete]

Perfect.

I jumped over a fence and got back on the main streets. As I hopped, I twisted my body mid-air and threw another stone at the now injured mutt.

"Come here, you little bitch!"

My constituiton was beyond human limit like a normal person. Of course I had just barely scratched the barrel that held my stamina.

"GRAAAAARAAA!"

The useless mutt could only bark.

Without blinking an eye, I bit the almost finished cigarette I rushed through the streets at max speed in the race against time.

I wanted to see just how much 15 points in agility could get me.

And it did get me.

At the speed almost twice more than that of an olympic runner, I passed through the streets by jumping over the cars and debris alike.

The mutt followed, crushing whatever I had avoided.

The safe zone in the map continued blinking.

And at last, I was in frotn of the last safe spot. The sight of Relafan waving his hands from afar was clear.

He was…

He was still in the building.

"What the fuck dude! Get out of there!!"

I needed the hero for the trump card!!

Relafan said something in turn, but I couldn't hear.

The mutt growled.

I quickly changed my direction and hopped away…

"GRAAA!"

… And the mutt crashed into the barrier.

As I stayed outside the barrier my eyes fell toward the hero.

The gas leak had filled the entirety of the barrier inside.

The mutt growled as it looked at me, standing right next to the building.

It seemed I had little choice.

Taking one last puff of the cigarette, I tossed it inside the barrier.

—BOOOOOOM!
