103 Chapter 102: Strong allies
Stomp!
Hiss!
The female vampire lunged forward like a wild beast, striking forward at Damon with her long claws, but it only met his mighty blade, surging with great power!
Boom!
The lady was thrown airborne while Damon stood beneath her shadow. His eyes revealed fierce killing lights as his darkish purple aura exploded violently while his shadow spread. Countless aura wolves emerged from his shadow, lunging towards the airborne foe!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Explosions rocked the sky as blood and flesh rained down on the world. Under the effect of the lone Halo, anyone can kill a supernatural being through any normal means. Under his command, thousands of foes had died already and more were about to die.
.....
Damon felt a stinging pain at the back of his neck as a new symbol appeared on his body.
“NOW IS THE TIME! THEY ARE WEAK!” Damon growled as he gripped his greatsword tightly and leaped forward, falling into a crowd of enemies!
“Activate the formations!” Duke Hail growled and the eyes of everyone on the battlefield lit up!
Whoosh!
“Activate the divine forest formation!” Elsa Leaf declared loudly!
Almost instantly, mages dressed in green cloaked attire appeared, all twelve of them surrounding the foot of the mountain!
“Adnios Chaos Lapis”
Those mages chanted in strange languages as their power boomed and various magic circles began appearing at the foot of the mountain.
Swooosh!
Almost instantly countless vines shot out of the ground, completely covering the sky!
Xiu!
Countless vines flew past Damon’s forces, stabbing countless vampires. In just an instant, a forest made of impaled vampires!
“Archers get ready!” Elsa’s calm tone passed across the battlefield like a wave, covering every part of the intense battlefield.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Resounding bowstring sounds echoed as countless arrows shot into the open sky!
Woosh!
In the next moment, a mighty magic array appeared above the clouds, illuminating the entire battlefield! Damon watched in shock as the arrows instantly turned into beams of light, raining down on the battlefield!
The continuous ranged bombardments rendered Damon speechless as he watched the elves wipe out the entire enemy forces!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Damon stood at the center of the bombardment with his army but surprisingly not even one of them was hit. The fierce accuracy of the archers of the elf race was showcased in this battle.
For a short while, every vampire about a thousand meters around Damon died, only then did he act!
Charge!
Bang!
Damon left behind his sword as his body shot forward perfectly. His eyes revealed immense killing lights as numerous energy wolves spawned around him, exploding violently.
With that a terrifying second charge began as the twenty thousand cavalries raced deeper into the enemy territory, destroying their formation.
They broke through!!!!!
Gin, Cyrus and Klien watched Damon push through the enemy encirclement with great strength. In fact, watching the battle from afar, Damon was like a bright light which stood out. With countless wolves made of various elements and aura, he was like a demonic beast which no one could stop!
“Prepare to move out!” Kal of the orcs said calmly after watching for a while.
He seemed completely satisfied with Damon’s performance and he quickly began approaching with his two hundred thousand force.
Dun!
Dun!
Dun!
The war drums kept ringing as orcs seated atop mighty behemoth beasts appeared. There were only five of them but they carried the aura of fifty thousand as they charged forward. The behemoth beasts were of different appearances and were controlled by the beats of the war drums.
Under the pensive gaze of everyone, they watched as the behemoth beasts sprang into battle without hesitation. Casual blows from them made the world tremble and threaten to collapse.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Like that countless explosions riddled all parts of the mountain, causing it to tremble violently. Just like that, the battle began and Damon’s forces with the behemoth forces of the orcs marched through the enemy lines on the first day of battle by the end of the day all the generals from all races gathered for the casualty reports.
“We lost a total of five thousand men today, adding that to the enemy forces but on the other hand, the enemy lost over a hundred thousand men today.... The war may be slow but we will eventually emerge victorious!” The messenger reported while on his knees and his face lowered.
His eyes stole glimpses of Damon who was seated without a shirt. His entire body was covered in bandages and his eyes calm as the ocean. The reports didn’t startle him one bit.
“Good!” Duke Hail exhaled.
The first day of battle ended sooner than everyone expected and this was all thanks to Damon’s stunning performance.
“There is nothing to celebrate.... There are far more capable existences at the higher levels of that mountain. We will progress far slower than expected when the time comes” Damon explained with a frown.
He led his forces into a frenzied charge as they raced up the mountain. While they moved, many may not have noticed but there were champion realm vampires hidden within the fray. If he led his forces just a bit deeper, they would have been wiped out.
“And your strength? How much stronger did you become?” Kal of the orcs asked with anticipation in his eyes while gazing at Damon.
Everyone ignored Damon’s words and focused on Damon with expectant eyes.
“Hmph! Don’t expect much... I have reached the esteemed level of the warrior realm both as a mage and a lone wolf!” Damon declared with a cold gaze.
Buzz!
The entire room trembled in fear as they gazed at the kid in horror like he was some sort of monster. Duke Hail lived long enough to see the old lone wolf. Even he didn’t progress as fast as Damon. The rapid increase in the kids’ strength was terrifying and many didn’t speak.
For the human race, this was a good thing but for the elves, orcs, and dwarves, this was bad news.
Adding a new great general amongst the ranks of the human race is the least thing that should happen at a time like this.
“So what do you think?” Brandon Bloodhammer finally broke the silence and asked Damon earnestly.
To this question, Damon remained silent for a short while before giving a response.
“I suggest we wait it out. We have six months to destroy the enemy, we will do it in five. Once I reach the champion realm, we should be able to push farther!” Damon said and everyone nodded in understanding.
Rushing the war would only have a different effect from what is expected. Damon knew this and didn’t plan on risking his life and that of his soldiers on that. Right now he depended on the dead souls of his soldiers to fuel his strength and in the next fights to come, he will keep doing the same.
After pondering about everything that needs to be done and how to go about them, Damon finally got his answer. He had no reason to join any side or have any side back him. With the power of death, he could create an army of his own by fighting battles. The battlefield is the perfect place for a cultivator like him who feeds on souls.
It’s only a matter of time before he reaches a level where not even Duke Hail will be able to suppress him.
“I plan to fight every day for the next five or six months... the stronger I become, the sooner we win this war... I hope there are no problems with my plans?” Damon asked with a slight frown on his pale face.
While everyone in the room felt his hostility was directed toward the blood clan. What they didn’t know was that Damon was actually aiming for the gyro Kingdom. If they can take that, he should be safe for a while.
The main problem now is getting stronger. Damon reluctantly admitted he needed to get stronger but most importantly, he needed Gin, Cyrus, and Klien to get stronger as well. To win against the old gods, he can’t go alone.
“After this war, what do you plan to do?” Elsa Leaf suddenly asked, causing everyone to turn their attention to Damon.
In this battle, he performed rather well and his men had already acknowledged him. His eyes turned cold as he considered the possibility of something but he quickly brushed that aside as a side thought, before giving a reply.
“My plan involves sleeping through the month when this is over. I have to go to bed now. I have a battle to win tomorrow” Damon said as he slowly stood to his feet, and gave them a profound frown before leaving.
Damon knew he needed allies and not burdens. If he were to grow as much as possible, he would still need their help to deal with the new gods. Regardless of what happens, he needs allies, both in this life and the next.
