Paragon of Death

Chapter 184

Chapter 184

184 Chapter 183: Sol

Sol stood in the skies with his cold gaze pinned at Raizen below. He seemed to ignore everything else and focused on the figure below.

“The old gods, cosmic spirits, and Ancestral dragons were still able to find a way to bypass the reincarnation process for two of my allies. Since their consciousness must have been lost in whatever scheme they had, it’s only right for me to claim their power” Sol spoke in an emotionless tone as he gazed at the figure below.

“Damon?” Elsa muttered but her eyebrows were squinted as she felt something wrong about the man standing above them.

He looked like Damon and even the injuries he sustained were there and still healing yet he gave off such a strange aura that made her doubt him.

Gin and Cyrus stopped battling Raizen as well while gazing at the figure above. They could tell this was Damon’s body but they could feel something seriously off about his existence and demeanor.

“Impossible, I killed you... how are you still alive?” Raizen stuttered while speaking those words. His face seemed twisted with pain and horror when speaking those words.

“Hmph! What is dead may never die. What you killed is just a pawn, Damon Ross. I am the true death mage, the one that goes by the name, Sol” Sol said in a calm tone while his eyes seemed to carry strange thoughts racing through his mind.

Buzz!

Everyone present felt like what they just heard was a joke. Damon Ross, the youth who dominated the world for a short time was only a pawn?

.....

“Sol....” Raizen trembled in fear as he heard the name.

Unlike the others, he was well aware of the identity of the man who stood above them. The man who has been a thorn in the flesh of all beings alive and dead.

Sol’s emotionless eyes remained on Raizen for a while before he finally spoke up.

“Even you who think he is a major player in the greater scheme of things is just a pawn. There are ancient beings who have lived for millennia and you really think they will be so willing to pass on the title of a new god to a youngling like you? Foolish” Sol said to Raizen with eyes lacking emotions.

His hands stretched forward and his finger pointed at Raizen.

“I will be taking that power. It’s not something children like you should wield”

Swish!

His figure vanished and reappeared behind Raizen!

Get Back!

Raizen’s eyes exploded with power as water and wind surged violently around him, shaking the world around him!

Bang!

Sol’s open palm was like the hands of death reaching for a damned soul. Nothing can block its way!

Pa!

Sol’s hand smashed through all forms of defense, holding the young dragon by the neck and lifting him up!

Gaaah!

“You died the very moment I deemed you dead” Sol said with a cold voice.

IMPUDENT!

Raizen’s eyes shone with cruelty as the golden blade of his dual shortswords lit up and slashed at Sol!

Pfff!

The blade tore through his skin but the cut was too shallow! Golden fume poured out of the wound as if they were being forcefully expelled by his power.

“This...” Raizen was stunned.

The power of the sealed artifacts is not something just anyone can topple like it’s nothing. Seeing Sol accomplish such a feat, left him terrified and unwilling to continue this battle. He took a step back first before turning and sprinting away with all his might.

Against a being which can rival his ancestral Dragons, Raizen doesn’t dare stay bold.

“Hmph! Weak” Sol snorted disdainfully before turning his attention to Cyrus, Elsa, and Gin.

He didn’t bother with Raizen anymore since he believed he could kill him at any moment. Men are not bothered by the lives of ants!

“What do you think you are doing? Give Damon back” Cyrus said with cold eyes as he raised his arm and the bright golden guardian weapon appeared.

“Mortal fool, if I die at your hands, do you think you can survive the chaos about to happen? If you plan to live longer than Damon, you will do as I say” Sol said coldly with eyes filled with cruelty.

Gin and Elsa stood back with cold looks in their eyes. As much as they wanted to tear this imposter apart, they were sure they would lose against him and the man was right as well. Without him, they couldn’t survive the chaos about to engulf the central continent. If there is any chance of survival, the four of them must stand together.

“While I have my speculations of what might have happened, I also have a deep understanding of the reasons why these things happened. The true hosts of the various elements we command can be reawakened with our deaths. This has always been the plan of the world. But it doesn’t seem like you want us dead. I’m guessing even the original death mage could suppress the other hosts. So instead of having equals around you, you would rather have underlings” Gin said thoughtfully.

“Hmph! I guess not all of you are completely dumb” Sol commended Cyrus with his own level of praise to a lower lifeform.

“If that’s your way of saying you won’t kill us and awaken your true comrades, then you have my thanks but I will let you know this now. If I see a chance to take your life and return that of my friend I won’t hesitate to do so” Gin’s blue robes flapped violently against the wind as he stood off against Sol.

He needed a death mage to survive be it Sol or Damon. If Damon was truly dead for good then he would have no choice but to coexist with Sol for the sake of their future but should he see a chance to bring Damon back, he definitely won’t let the chance slide

“Hmph! You won’t get such a chance” Sol snorted disdainfully and began walking away.

“We still have an inheritance to claim and no time to waste... The invaders are by the corner... You can all stand there and wait for death to come or join me and create a new era!” Sol said while he walked away and the rest had no other choice but to follow.

In a situation where they can’t hurt the enemy, they could only swallow their frustration

..............

The news of Damon’s death and the revival of the true death mage spread. Raizen had only reported it to the ancestral Dragons and they let the news leak to create a chaotic atmosphere in the continent and weaken their attempts to prepare for the invasion.

Sol or the invaders, who will the continent accept as their main enemy?

.... Gyro Kingdom, Royal courtroom...

“That brat really got himself killed after all that show of strength. If that’s true, doesn’t that mean the others are just pawns of the main hosts?” The son of heaven frowned as he heard the news.

“He went after them? Stupid!” Gerald lamented as he leaned on the throne beside that of his father. Deep down he liked Damon as a person and didn’t want to make an enemy out of him.

In fact, he believed he and Damon would have been good friends if they met in a different circumstance. Unlike whoever Sol is, Damon had the continent at heart and the human race. The same may not be said for an ancient being who already considers himself a God and other mortals as mere insects.

He was seated at the right hand while Dillian sat at his left hand. The royal courtroom was packed and an odd feeling of fear lingered in their hearts.

“Wouldn’t the other hosts rebel since they found out something this crazy?” Dillian asked with furrowed eyebrows.

“No... the hosts have made their stance in the life of the hosts very clear. They can only follow the new death Magee, since their chances of survival are higher with him, especially if he promises not to take their life” Gerald speculated.

Buzzz!

The entire room felt cooler as the fear in the room increased ten fold. Sol had returned and he has the loyalty of the other hosts. Knowing the kind of person Sol is, he will want to deal with both the invaders and the continent as well.

In the past, Sol has always been the most powerful of the hosts, leaving only the life guardian spirit host as his rival. The duo alone could take on the world while battling themselves and that was when they were only in the champion realm.

They were murdered recently because their cultivation base was too low. But now he has taken the body of a spirit realm expert and is going to acquire his inheritance.

Only the old gods, the cosmic spirits, and the ancestral Dragons can stop him now.

“Damon...” Duke Hail remained seated by Archmage Kratos’s side and both wore dejected expressions.

This kid who died is someone they considered their son and brother with a bright future yet this kingdom and continent pushed him to his death!
