623 Chapter 623 Revna, the girl who dreamed of being a Norse goddess

In a world dominated by the strongest fists, most of the natural resources and precious treasures used to end up in the hands of a few experts who never let go; thus, events like the auction organized by the Eternal War Maiden Sect were highly valued.

As an event that took place only once a year, an extraordinary one in this particular instance, the treasures on display were far above average, driving the competitors crazy.

Seeing that the best natural resources in the first two sections were grabbed by the people of a single VIP room, it was inevitable that dissatisfaction would be generated. If not for the tight security at the auction, it was hard to tell if someone hadn’t already made a move on it.

As that was the case, when the bidding for that room was halted during the third phase of the auction, everyone present became excited, bidding madly for anything that caught their eye.

Many thought the people in that VIP room had already exhausted their entire fortune by bidding on so many items, even going so far as to regard such a move as very stupid.

The third phase of the auction might not be the most popular, but that didn’t mean that they had run out of treasures to acquire, so already having exhausted their resources was a move only a novice would make.

For starters, the Eternal War Maiden Sect was known for its blacksmiths and craftsmen, not its alchemists, so the fourth phase of the auction would have the best things to offer.

Of course, Claire, Sasha, Revna, Cecilia, Xiauyue, and Fei Long were oblivious to how they were branded as stupid people, which was fortunate considering the temperament of some of them. However, the girls weren’t bored just because they weren’t bidding, they took the opportunity to chat about various topics.

Although the talk was pleasant, the girls were certainly excited when the third phase of the auction ended and the host, Qiqi, kicked off the fourth phase. The woman with beautiful long black hair showed the most seductive and provocative of smiles, enlivening more than one person of both sexes, and showing her professionalism, she gave a fitting introduction with her voice soft as velvet.

.....

“Ladies and gentlemen, the moment everyone has been waiting for has arrived. As you may have imagined, the fourth phase of this auction is full of weapons that were born at the hands of our best artisans. And that is all I have to say; our reputation is enough to clear up any doubts you may have about the quality or potential of the treasures to be seen below.”

Inside the VIP room, a not-so-soft “Hmp” was heard from Xiauyue, who gave Fei Long an unkind look. Hearing the hint of jealousy from her beloved, Fei Long smiled bitterly; she couldn’t even complain about it since she had brought it on herself with some things she had done in the past.

Fei Long did not want her dear woman to hold some grudge over a misunderstanding. “Xiauyue, don’t be like that; I’m just excited about this part of the auction. I can’t wait to get my hands on a divine battle armor; You know I only have eyes for you.”

As she looked with sweet love at the woman she secretly planned to make her wife soon, Fei Long expressed her emotions with more than just words. Claire and the rest had to turn a blind eye to where Fei Long was placing those mischievous hands of hers.

Feeling that intoxicating caress, Xiauyue melted inside, but she did not give in so easily. Despite Fei Long’s words, more than one of the maids back home could testify that even if what she said about having eyes only for her was true, her mischievous hands were not under the same restriction.

It should be noted that Fei Long had never been unfaithful to Xiauyue, but that didn’t stop the latter from becoming jealous when the former acted too flirtatious and touchy with the group of maids who could hardly wait to roll with her in bed.

After a flirtatious push and pull, Xiauyue gave up her symbolic struggles and succumbed to Fei Long’s sweet yet addictive touch; God knows what the two women would have done had they been alone in the room.

As the collective bad third in the room, Claire and the other girls had to endure a couple of very awkward minutes. Fortunately, the glorious displays at the auction drew everyone’s attention.

“From the hands of some of our veteran artisans, I present the Autumn Glow Sword to you. It took a full month of intense tempering to prepare the ascended rank metals to create this sword. For those swordsmen who specialize in flexibility, this beautiful sword is not to be missed.”

It was only the first item up for auction in this phase, but it could be seen that the sect had come away with everything. The passive energy fluctuations from the sword were enough to intimidate weaker fighters.

From Fei Long and Xiauyue’s explanation, the girls learned what ascended rank meant, which was basically what people in this world called the three-star class. However, the girls’ surprise came from that sword’s pressure and spiritual feeling. It was nothing like the feeling they got from the three-star class materials they had purchased.

Since they were unfamiliar with forging, the girls were too unaware of the trade, making them more impressionable, especially after seeing the basic materials and the finished product. Furthermore, the Eternal War Maiden Sect takes special pride in its forging and crafting techniques. It really would be below them to not even be able to meet certain standards.

As the one most familiar with Xiauyue, Claire thought that the martial artist would be interested in the sword, but that seemed not to be the case judging by Xiauyue’s calm and nonchalant expression.

Feeling Claire’s gaze on herself, Xiauyue sensed what the other party was thinking and clarified. “A long time ago, I acquired a sword of the highest level of the ascended rank; one specially made for me and my fighting style.”

On second thought, Claire understood that such a thing was to be expected. Due to the two wars that Xiauyue and Fei Long engaged in in the past five years, both girls had not only grown stronger at an abnormal rate but had also become prodigiously rich.

It wouldn’t make sense for Xiauyue and Fei Long to remain to this day without a decent weapon. Furthermore, it seemed that Xiauyue and Fei Long had had some small dealings with the Eternal War Maiden Sect. It was highly likely that they had acquired through trading or commissioning suitable equipment.

Whatever the case, neither Xiauyue nor Fei Long seemed at all interested in the auctioned items, something that applied to the rest of the girls as well, albeit for different reasons.

As Fei Long had said, almost all the weapons displayed emulated intense flashes and Aura fluctuations, making it very clear that only a martial artist could properly wield them.

A few rare pieces of weaponry or armor didn’t have such intense and unyielding energy signatures. Still, none suited the fighting styles of the girls, who had little use for any bladed weapon, to begin with. That was the case until the announcer, Qiqi, announced a weapon that made Revna’s eyes shine like stars.

Contrary to what one might expect from the woman with a fighting style full of grace, elegance, artistry, and solemn glamour, the weapon it drew her attention to did not seem suitable for any of those aspects. To top it off, the weapon in question didn’t suit Revna’s secondary style as an assassin either.

The gloriously elegant-looking huge battle axe, filled with carvings of roses and vines, climbed up its silvery metallic body to the center of the blade head, which was dull gold in color. The cleaver’s blade was immense, and it could be seen that it took tremendous physical strength to wield the weapon, not to mention great dexterity to balance the axe’s colossal shape.

The impractical and immense ax looked like something out of a fantasy novel where a burly physiqued Berserk covered in lead-dense muscles was wildly swinging it to mow down endless waves of bloody demons while roaring some words of glorious death.

There were only two things that didn’t quite fit that description. The first was that the weapon was too beautiful and detailed, clearly intended for a female user. The second thing that didn’t fit was the overall feel of the weapon.

Despite the proportions, its overall design and balance were intended for a weapon that would fall into the hands of a true master rather than a brainless muscle head.

However, all of the above things only affected Revna’s desire for the weapon to a lesser extent. It couldn’t be helped; that Viking-looking ax just made the redhead’s Nordic blood burn.

Affected by the man who became her obsession and her reason for being, Revna had become very interested in mythology and history, especially that of her homeland, growing up fascinated by all the folklore and fables.

Hence Revna named her fighting style after the Nordic night goddess. She couldn’t help but want to be like the powerful, beautiful, and majestic goddesses of the mythology of her homeland.

Seeing the glorious battle ax that seemed to shout at the top of its lungs, “Use me, and we will reach Valhalla together.” Revna didn’t care about anything other than getting that weapon; she could worry about how to use it later.

As the second case of the kind of influence Desmond was on his girls, one couldn’t help but wonder how many loose screws the hunter had, as his influence on girls manifested itself in all strange ways.
