Chapter 96
Chapter 96
"Are you sure we really killed two of them? Two nobles?!" The corps executive asked.
"Is this information true?" The president added.
The one who stood ahead of them, was a man who worked in the management and communication department. He had come in alongside the secretary.
"That is correct. 'She' not only aided in rescuing the refugees but also took out a noble. His rank in the hierarchy hasn't been confirmed by her yet."
"So for all he know it could have been the lowest." Said the president.
"I'd rather not think of that as she's arguably the strongest member we have right now."
"You said two, who killed the other?" The corps executive added.
"A new recruit known as Realm. His sister and mother are currently residing with us."
"Realm?" They simultaneously repeated.
"Yes, that is correct. We suspect that Delta was heavily injured during her fight so we've currently sent him towards her. Although he's just joined, he's extremely gifted and used to work for the government."

"Who are you?" Delta asked, as she heard a set of footsteps approach.
"Someone who was sent here to back you up. But… Unlike what the report said, you don't look injured at all." Said the voice.
Delta hastily tried to stand up, but her body just wouldn't respond. Not only did she overexert herself but she also risked losing herself to the flames.
Fortunately, she was able to keep it under control, but if this person was an enemy, she doesn't know what could happen.
"Stay back… Tell me who you are." She demanded as she sent him a glare.
Or at least tried. It failed as she could only see his feet.
"Rookie Fallen Angel Opposition Corps member ranked 5th, the lowest of the low. Realm reporting for duty. The code is FAOCP" He declared as he saluted.
Her eyes widened.
'They sent a rookie to come help me…? How we've fallen…' She thought to herself before chuckling.
"Help me up, recruit. We've got to get out of here." She said as the groans resounded throughout the field.
Realm crouched down, wrapped her arm around his shoulder before lifting her up.
"Understood." He said with a bright smile.

Inside one of the refugees inside of the city which had successfully been taken over. A handsome man could be seen sat on top of a mountain of corpses.
Short slick black hair, and deep black eyes with a shredded figure, highlighted from beneath his armour.
The bizarre thing about the corpses were that they were all missing their heads.
His expression remained still and unamused.
"So that guy's gone and bit the dust, huh… To think his explosions failed to do one simple task and as for the other noble who died... It's understandable for the commoners to die but to think they've taken two of ours..." He muttered.
After saying so, his eyes landed upon the people ahead of him.
He placed his palm on his face and sighed.
"What are you still doing here? I've spared you did I not?" He asked.
They trembled heavily as they pointed their blades at him. They had fired their heavy calibre rifles a second ago, but it seemed to have barely any effect on him as some strange invisible wall stopped it.
Despite asking the question, they didn't reply and instead approached him. Ready to use their abilities.
"I've already met the quota given to me by the king. I have no desire to play around with your silly lives or kill anymore of you. This war seems meaningless to me." He said.
They took another step. This time, the floor between the three of them, highlighted itself in the shape of square.
"But if you move even a step closer. I'll kill you." He said, with a cold look.
The horns on top his head were red, he was clearly a noble. And a powerful one at that. The refugee was taken over but none of the alarms had gone off.
He was a danger, a huge threat to humanity. That was precisely why they couldn't back down.
"As members of the imperial fallen angel opposition corps… We mustn't back down." Said one of them as he gripped tightly on his sword's hilt.
These katanas were a special prototype created by the corporation aimed to prevent any injuries inflected from healing for a set period of time.
There were different effects for the different types of properties, some were more compatible with certain abilities than others.
An example would be the one Delta uses, her prototype is aimed to maximise the conductivity of her flames whilst avoiding being melted.
But the ones these three were using were the most recent and simplest ones.
They referred to them as cursed gear.
"All we need is a hit…" He whispered.
The other two beside him nodded.
"Very well… I admire your courage." Said the horned one, as he hung his head.
The square suddenly rose in the form of a cube catapulting them towards him.
As they soared through the air, heading straight for collision, they positioned their swords ready to swing down on him.
But before they were even five meters away from him.
*Spurt*
Their heads burst. The pieces scattered around onto the pile of corpses as their body landed there.
Only one of them was left behind. The one who was in the middle. He was the only one who's head was still fine.
But the blood of his friends had splattered all over him.
*CRASH!*
He hadn't even processed what had happened a second ago, and yet there he was, with the back of his head implanted into the ground.
"Huh…? What…? When… When did you…? M-My friends… W-What did you do to them…!?" He asked, the look of despair present all over his face. "
"Doesn't matter. But as the Duke I must ask… You said something about the fallen angel corps? Is that what organisation you work under?"
'Duke…? He's a noble Duke?!'
The man spat at the duke's face and bit his lip, refusing to reply.
But what he felt a chill go down his spine as he saw that his saliva had stopped just inches away from the duke's face.
Again the invisible wall.
"Right, asking the normal way never works. Torture it is." Said the duke, before cracking one of the member's fingers.
*Crack*
"AARHGHHHHH!" He grimaced in pain.
"There's 19 left. You better start answering.." Said The Duke with a smile.
