Chapter 1851 - Coffins
Qin Nan’s eyes flickered with astonishment.
Brought destruction to the Primary Upper Realm and the Secondary Lower Realm?
Wouldn’t that basically destroy the entire world?
To think there was such a terrifying battle, how powerful would the people that were involved have to be?
“Seriously? Why have I not heard of such a terrifying battle before?”
Doom wore a confused look. He had been around in the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm for tens of thousands of years.
“Humph, it would be strange if you know it. Almost every trace of the battle was erased after it happened. Only a book has a complete record of it. Other records have only some parts of it left,” the old man that was drinking said disdainfully.
“He’s right about that,” Supreme Rudao nodded.
After the cultivator in the gray robe saved her life, he told her some secrets too, and one of them was the battle. As for why did the battle happen, how did it end, and who was involved in it, the man never mentioned.
“Girl, you know about it? It seems like you’ve encountered something extraordinary.”
The old man with thinly spread hair was a little surprised, but he soon wore a stern look, “Even though these drawings only record a few parts of the battle, they are still extremely valuable. Kid, don’t leave yet, try to memorize them all.”
Qin Nan nodded. He inspected the drawings in detail instead of bursting the old man’s bubble.
He was quite intrigued by the drawings illustrating such a terrifying battle.
However, Qin Nan did not notice a few lines of words flickering above the Ownerless Heaven Pattern. They seemed to be telling him something.
Time gradually passed. For some reason, the drawings were not emitting any aura, nor did they possess any power, yet inspecting them was still very time-consuming.
Half the period of an incense stick later, Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao collected their thoughts and left the palace. They proceeded to the palace in the middle.
Normally, the palace in the middle was supposed to be the most important one out of the three. It was usually the main tomb of every mausoleum.
Qin Nan subconsciously wore a stern look. He took a few deep breaths before pushing the door open. However, he was stunned as soon as he started pushing.
It felt like he was pushing a heavenly mountain. The door did not budge regardless of the amount of force he was pushing with.
Qin Nan attempted it a few more times, but the outcome remained the same even when he used all his immortal force.
“Let me try,” Supreme Rudao said.
She unleashed the magnificent force in her body as he pushed forward, yet the huge light golden door did not react to it, not even the slightest budge.
“This…”
Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao frowned.
“That doesn’t make any sense!”
The two old men and the scarecrow were utterly confused.
The demon blood that Qin Nan refined even opened the demonic barrier for him. They would not believe it was not related to the Immortal that the tomb belonged to.
But why couldn’t they open the door?
“Maybe the Immortal doesn’t want to meet me?”
A thought crossed Qin Nan’s mind.
However, if the man had given him the demon blood and lured him here, why would he not meet him still?
Nothing made any sense.
“Let’s go take a look at the third palace.”
Qin Nan shook his head to clear his thoughts. He headed to the other side.
A few moments later, the two stood in front of the third palace. Qin Nan unleashed the immortal force in his body and pushed the door.
This time, he felt no resistance. The door slowly opened following a familiar squeak.
The two old men and the scarecrow let out a relieved sigh.
They would be in a lot of trouble if the door of the third palace did not open too.
Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao gathered their focus as they went into the palace. Unlike the first palace, the place was in pitch-black darkness. Even their vision could only reach ten zhang away at most.
“Be careful!”
The two old men could not help but give their piece of advice.
If the third palace turned out to be the main tomb, it would be protected by some deadly traps.
“This…”
Supreme Rudao suddenly came to a stop. Qin Nan too turned his head around after noticing a crystalline coffin to his right. He could see an old man with snow-white hair and a gentle face wearing a long robe with lines of dragons lying inside it through the transparent lid.
“Could this be the Immortal?”
The two old men and the scarecrow were startled.
“Hang on!”
The scarecrow quickly came to his senses. He said, “It’s old man Wenjian’s body. I once lived in the sword palace that his descendants built. I saw drawings of him there, it’s exactly the same as the body!”
Wenjian?
Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao immediately recalled the other tombs on the outside.
One of the tombs belonged to an authority in the Master Realm with the name Wenjian.
They did not expect the man was actually buried here in such a simple manner.
“There’s another one here!”
Supreme Rudao continued forward. Her vision cleared up slightly. She soon saw the second crystalline coffin, but she immediately blurted out, “No, there are nine of them!”
Qin Nan’s heart shuddered. He immediately went forward.
He saw nine crystalline coffins of varied heights standing vertically across the place, each with a body lying inside. There were old men, young women with gentle, murderous looks, or anger on their faces.
Qin Nan’s shoulders sank as he felt an enormous pressure.
Even though these people had already fallen and were sealed off by the crystalline coffins, their presence lingering in the rift was still extremely terrifying.
“Crap!”
The two old men and the scarecrow blurted out in astonishment, “The corpses of the guys out there were all buried here?”
A great chill surged within their hearts as they thought of something.
If an expert in the Master Realm had built a tomb for themselves, they would not bury themselves in such a simple manner even if an Immortal had decided to utilize their tombs.
It was extremely rare for anyone to agree to it.
Which meant…
Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao were astounded too.
It was Supreme Rudao’s first time seeing ten bodies of Masters of Dao at once, let alone Qin Nan!
“Wait, something feels strange! These coffins don’t have any restrictions at all!”
The scarecrow suddenly made a discovery.
“No restrictions?”
Qin Nan and Supreme Rudao were startled.
Even ordinary Human Immortals would apply lots of restrictions and traps on their coffins if they were to build themselves a tomb to prevent others from destroying or stealing their bodies, let alone cultivators in the Master Realm.
“There are no restrictions…”
A flash of lightning suddenly flickered past Qin Nan’s mind.
His breathing began to intensify.
Wouldn’t that mean he was free to take these corpses?
