Chapter 115
Chapter 115
115 What Can You Get?
Even though Ella had prepared herself to meet Liam, she was still surprised to see him face to face now. She knew sooner or later she would have to explain everything to Liam, but if she could, she wanted to avoid him.
“Liam?” She called in surprise.
Liam suddenly appeared in front of Christian’s house. This was not the right place for them to meet!
Ella looked around and realized that no one was looking at them. She immediately pulled Liam’s hand to get away from the place.
“Why are you here?”
Liam smiled gently and raised his hand to stroke Ella’s head. “Why hide like a thief? Are you embarrassed to meet me?” he said a little sadly.
Every time he looked at the woman in front of him, Liam’s heart ached. If only he had come back earlier, perhaps a month earlier, this woman in front of him wouldn’t have gone to see Christian.
Perhaps, he could be someone who helped Ella. Someone who helped her when she was down...
“Ella, it’s all my fault. I was late.” His voice was low, mixed with guilt.
.....
His hands that were drooping at his sides, subconsciously clenched into fists. Because the fist was so tight, the veins in his hands stood out.
“There’s no need to say that,” Ella smiled nonchalantly. She wanted to raise her hand to hold Liam’s hand, but she stopped moving. Now, she didn’t have the capacity to have a close relationship with this man before her.
“No one knows what will happen.” Ella tried to keep a smile. “Plus, this is the path I chose.”
For Ella, nothing would change even if Liam stayed in Indonesia. Even if Liam was still around her, Ella would not involve Liam in her troubles.
Of course Ella wasn’t a nice woman, but she wouldn’t do anything to hurt Liam.
Liam looked at Ella. He knew that the woman in front of him was stubborn. Once she had made up her mind, Ella would not give up so easily.
But Liam didn’t want Ella to be with Christian.
“Ella, what can you get by staying with him?”
Liam didn’t want to talk about this, but he couldn’t help himself. This woman in front of him was the woman he had loved for a long time. But since many years had passed, he was helpless to the many changes that had happened to Ella.
The question made Ella’s face pale.
She felt like she was naked in front of Liam. The man seemed to be able to see the worst side of her heart.
“I can get a lot of things,” Ella whispered.
She didn’t want to admit that she was currently stuck in a stagnant state. She couldn’t move forward because Christian wouldn’t let her do anything, but she couldn’t back down either because she’d plunged too deep.
She couldn’t do anything.
Right now, Christian still didn’t believe her so the man had no intention of giving Ella anything or helping her. But Christian didn’t let her go either.
However, Ella was not going to let this go on for too long.
“Lots of things?” Liam’s face was filled with anger when he heard Ella’s answer.
“Ella, do you think you can hide from me? Just look at the clothes you’re wearing now. Do you think I can’t see it?”
If Ella really got a lot from Christian, Ella wouldn’t be wearing cheap clothes like this. She would definitely wear fancy clothes and wear various jewels.
But how did she actually look like now?
Liam took a deep breath, not wanting to lose control of his emotions. “Ella, between the two of us, is it necessary for you to lie like this?”
Every word that came out of Liam’s mouth made Ella feel breathless.
When they were still children, Ella often poured her heart out to Liam. She would tell him everything, both happy and sad feelings that filled her heart.
Liam was like a refuge, someone who was willing to listen to her no matter what.
But it was also what made Ella feel that she couldn’t do it anymore. She was no longer the same Ella as she used to be.
“Liam, what exactly do you want from me?”
Ella raised her head and looked at Liam with an ironic smile on her lips. “I’ve done something embarrassing, what’s the harm if I want to cover it up? My life is very, very bad. Do I need to seek protection from you?”
“It’s been 10 years. I’m no longer the little girl you used to play with.”
Ella’s hair was messy in the wind, unable to hide the embarrassment she was feeling right now. But her eyes were really firm and determined.
Ella didn’t want to involve Liam in her troubles.
Not only did she not deserve to be by Liam’s side anymore, she also didn’t want to upset Christian because of this.
The cruel man would not spare her or even Liam.
“Ella?”
Liam stepped back to look at Ella’s face.
“I never lied to you,” his eyes looked sad as he said that. “I said I want to marry you when you grow up. Everything I said is sincere.”
Ella shook her head slowly. “Sorry, I didn’t take it seriously.”
Upon hearing this, Liam stepped forward again and withdrew his hand. “Ella, I am going abroad so that I can improve myself, so that I can become a suitable person to accompany you. Why don’t you understand it? I knew you hated me when I left then.”
Liam looked panicked and the pain in his heart was clearly visible on his face. Ella could only stare at him in silence.
True, she hated him back then. But as she grew older, Ella understood what Liam was doing.
Liam had his own life, just as Ella had her own.
Ella shook her head. “Can you calm down?”
“How can I be calm?”
“Liam! Are you crazy?”
Ella shouted loudly, making Liam come to his senses. However, just as he was about to speak, Ella had interrupted him first. “I don’t like seeing people do this to me, using my feelings to provoke me and take pity on me.”
Just as Ella was about to continue her sentence, she heard a scream from behind her.
“Old woman, where are you?”
Ella’s eyes looked panicked. She couldn’t let Nathan see Liam!
“Liam, go away.” Ella pushed Liam’s body and added, “If you don’t leave now, I don’t want to see you again.”
Liam looked at Ella helplessly. But he didn’t want to make Ella hate him more so he finally nodded and left.
Ella breathed a sigh of relief. As she turned and faced Nathan, she saw the boy’s suspicious face.
“What are you doing here?”
Nathan looked up, trying to look behind Ella and then shifted his gaze to her face. “Are you hiding something?”
