Chapter 208
Chapter 208
208 Ex-lover’s Wedding Party
Seeing Ella obey his words, Christian feels a little better. He picked up Ella and carried her upstairs.
As they go upstairs, Ella hugs Christian’s neck and her gaze falls on Christian’s face.
This man was so extraordinary that he could choose any woman to be his.
But whoever is near him must not be greedy. They couldn’t ask for more, just like Ella.
However, Ella felt like she was trapped in a hole of sand that was continuously sucking her in. She couldn’t get herself out of here.
She had experienced failed relationships before and never wanted to feel the same pain.
Before entering the bedroom, Christian suddenly stops and lowers his head to kiss Ella.
A cold kiss landed gently on Ella’s forehead, causing Ella to lift her head and look at Christian in surprise.
She didn’t see passion in those eyes, but love. Christian’s eyes are filled with love...
.....
Unknowingly, her heart beats fast once again.
The corners of Christian’s lips curl into a smile. “I’ve heard that when a person falls in love, their heartbeat can be heard very clearly.”
Christian paused and continued, “I can hear your heartbeat.”
Ella’s heartbeat seemed to ring in his ears.
Right now, Christian was feeling really happy. He didn’t even care anymore about Ella’s previous attitude, with all the problems that had made their relationship worse.
Christian also knows that Ella cares about Liam, but that doesn’t matter anymore.
He believes he can make Ella fall in love with him.
“That... That’s impossible,” Ella averted her gaze and said in a low voice, “I will only like someone who cares about me.”
Besides, Ella had to think about whether she deserves to be loved again.
In this world, marriage is not only about love. Marriage is the union of two families so there are other aspects to consider such as family background, status, income and so on.
While thinking about this, Ella felt a little sad. What kind of man could accept her one day? Will he mind all her past?
As Ella’s mind wanders, Christian’s voice rings in her ears, “What do you mean by that? You think I don’t care about you?”
Couldn’t this woman see that she was the only woman he cared about? He will do anything to make her happy.
But sadly, this woman couldn’t see his effort at all. Inside her mind were only bad things.
Ella wants to fight Christian, but in the end she doesn’t want to. Christian’s concern for her is not the love of a man for his woman, but rather a master of his pet.
Ella does not have any freedom when she is with Christian. Is this truly equal to be loved? Confined and controlled for the rest of her life?
This isn’t love...
Once the pet feels uncomfortable, of course her master will also feel anxious.
That’s how Christian feels about her in Ella’s eyes.
Christian looked deeply at Ella. He stepped back into his room. The room looked very dark with no lights on.
Christian puts Ella on the bed and leaves her alone.
He decided to sit on the sofa alone, lit the cigarette he had brought with him. The burning cigarette blazes between Christian’s fingers.
Christian rarely smoked. Usually, he did this just to quell his anger. This was the time when he found it difficult to control his emotions.
He didn’t want to take his anger out on Ella.
Ella doesn’t know why Christian is acting this way and she doesn’t ask either.
They both seemed lost in their own thoughts, until Christian finally spoke up first. “When you are with me, you must not think of someone else in your heart.”
Someone else...
Suddenly, Ella thought of Liam. She blamed herself for involving Liam in this matter.
Now, Liam is also dragged into this matter because of her.
“You did something to Liam’s company, right?” Ella couldn’t help herself and immediately asked Christian.
She knew it was the wrong question, but sooner or later, this issue had to be addressed.
A hatred flashed in Christian’s eyes. Due to the darkness of the room, Ella couldn’t see anything, but she could feel a grim aura coming from Christian.
“I don’t like you saying his name,” there was displeasure in Christian’s voice when he said it.
Ella clenched her fists and said, “Can you let him go? If... If he does the same to you, I will also help you.”
Ella’s last words made Christian frown.
Does that mean that his position and Liam’s position in Ella’s heart are equal?
Christian can’t contain his annoyance. This was the first time he cared so much about his place in a woman’s heart.
Ella’s words pleased Christian for a moment, but after that, the man snorted coldly, “Do you think that will happen to me?”
Ella didn’t know what else to say to help Liam. But suddenly, Christian said, “I can let him go this time, but you have to promise me one thing.”
“What is it?”
“I haven’t thought about it now.”
Ella breathed a sigh of relief. She was spared from a possibly difficult choice. Most importantly, Christian would let Liam go.
As for the promise Christian said, Ella would think about it later.
“Okay.”
Hearing Ella’s answer, Christian was satisfied. He walked over to Ella and kissed her lips.
“Tomorrow, I will invite you to Haikal and Indri’s wedding.” Suddenly, Christian changes the subject.
Ella didn’t expect her father to be so impatient. From the announcement on the news to the wedding day, it was only three days apart.
That means she is running out of time. She’s about to lose her mother’s house and she still doesn’t know how to get it.
...
In the morning, Ella wakes up refreshed. Christian is hugging her waist from behind. His body was so close to hers and Christian’s voice, hoarse from just waking up, sounded like music in her ears.
“Are you excited about going to your ex’s wedding?”
His tone was full of jealousy and it made Ella see the illusion that she was loved by this man. She immediately shook her head to wake herself up. “Of course I’d love to come to the wedding of those two assholes. I can’t wait to see their happiness.”
That cynical tone makes Christian feel much better. He stroked Ella’s head affectionately.
Christian knows that what Ella feels for Haikal and Indri right now is hatred. That means, Haikal is no longer a threat to him.
One rival was eliminated.
