Vladimir was not sad because of its failure, and instead became more frustrated and brave. Following that, it opened its eyes wide and sought out the next target in the streets.
It seriously reflected on the failure just then and thought of the words that the girl had said, “Preferably one with plenty of time, and not as poor as I am.”
It seemed to be quite logical.
It recalled the customers who went into pet stores, excluding the children who came with their parents, the fans of Famous, and those who obviously were just looking and did not buy. Most of the customers who actually paid for them had the same characteristics––they looked more relaxed economically and had were leisurely looking. They were not rushing back and forth. In other words, they had plenty of money and leisure.
It made up its mind and said confidently to the yellow and white kitten, “Little devil! Cheer up! It will be all right next time!”
The yellow and white cat still had a face that showed it did not care.
Vladimir carefully observed the pedestrians that were walking around, then very quickly noticed a suitable target.
It was a very fat young man, about the same age as Zhang Zian. He was a little shorter than Zian, but more than twice his width.
In his left hand, the man was carrying a large plastic bag from a supermarket filled with puffed and instant foods. He had a large bottle of coke under his arm, which he took out to drink it after every few steps.
It was still cool at night, but he had on his short-sleeved t-shirt and knee-length shorts only. He wore a pair of flip-flops on his feet and a grey baseball cap on his head with the word ‘platelet’ on the front. It seemed that he had written it himself. The font was crooked and worse than Zhang Zian’s.
What was the use of wearing a hat on a night between spring and summer? It neither provided shade nor protection from the cold.
Could it be... his name was “Platelet?” And to prevent the trouble of having to introduce himself, he put his name on his head?
That was an acceptable explanation.
He walked very slowly; even the yellow and white kitten was faster than him. He looked down at his mobile phone and occasionally gave out a disgusting laugh.
Ge! He belched loudly and for a long time, then drank a large mouthful of coke. The young girl passing by him turned her head away with her nose covered.
Vladimir thought the person was strange, but it was in line with the “rich and leisurely” standard. If he could raise himself to the point of being so fat, then a kitten should be no problem.
“Go! Now it’s your turn! Imitate my movements just now and act cute in front of him. As soon as he’s happy, he’ll definitely bring you home.” It pushed the yellow and white kitten.
The yellow and white kitten was not very willing. After being urged a few times, it leisurely ran in front of “Platelet,” then laid down on the ground and rolled around.
However, “Platelet” was too concentrated on his phone, and did not notice the small cat under his feet. He was about to lift his flip-flop and step on the yellow and white kitten.
Vladimir had to decide whether to hit “Platelet” with an iron fist or remove the yellow and white kitten from under his feet, but it finally chose the latter. If he was sent to the hospital, he would not be able to raise a cat.
It had a quick eye and claws. It grabbed the yellow and white kitten’s neck in time and dragged it a few steps away from the man’s flip-flop. It then said righteously and severely yelled, “Stop!”
“Platelet” was skillfully sending bullet screens when he suddenly heard a cat sound. He put down his cell phone in surprise and saw two cats in front of him.
As Vladimir was close, it smelled the strong stench of sweat coming off of him, as if he hadn’t bathed or changed his clothes for several days. It did not have time to pay attention to such details. What it had to do was show the yellow and white kitten to it.
It pushed the yellow and white kitten, urging it to begin its performance.
The yellow and white cat repeated its actions. Although its imitation was not perfect, Vladimir felt that it was still passable.
It totally thought that “Platelet” would cry out, “Wow! How lovely!” and then take the yellow and white kitten home in a logical way. Unexpectedly, he just glanced at it lightly, took a step aside, went on, took a big drink of Coke from his armpit, and sent a bullet screen on his mobile phone.
Vladimir was speechless.
What was going on?
Could it be that he did not like cats, or perhaps he did not like kittens that were too small?
Among the customers who entered pet stores and were willing to pay for their pets, quite a lot of them came for dogs. People generally preferred a dog’s loyalty and high levels of interaction, and they preferred to spend time walking dogs every day.
Could it be that “Platelet” was also a dog fan and did not have any feelings towards cats?
Vladimir felt that it was not good to force people to do what they did not want to do. If he did not like cats, there was no need to force him to take the yellow and white kitten home. Otherwise, the yellow and white kitten would also not be happy.
But, it needed to confirm––did this person not like cats, or did it not like the yellow and white kitten?
It ran two steps and stopped in front of the man. “Wait!”
“Platelet” lowered his head and sent a bullet screen, then heard a cat sound in front of him again. He could not help but frown; he was clearly irritated.
“What do you want now? Does this cat have no end to it? Why is it bothering me again?” It looked at the blue cat in front of it coldly.
Vladimir rolled around and acted cute. It stared at the man in anticipation.
“Platelet,” whose face had excessive grease secretion, was filled with impatience. He said to himself, “Is this cat hungry?” He took out a bag of potato chips from the supermarket shopping bag and tore it open. First, he grabbed a handful of potato chips and put them into his mouth. He chewed and swallowed a few times and threw the bag of chips on the ground. “Eat this since you’re hungry. It’s my favorite––roasted meat.”
The bag fell onto the floor with a sound, and a few chips came out from the opening.
It was not that he was deliberately showing contempt, but that he was so fat that he could not bend over...
The yellow and white cat smelled the strong roasted meat scent and jogged over. It sniffed the dusty potato chips, put out its little tongue, and tried to lick them into its mouth. Just as its tongue almost touched the chips, its body rose off the ground and was carried aside by its neck by Vladimir.
Although Vladimir didn’t need to eat himself, he knew what cats should eat and what they shouldn’t eat. Potato chips were clearly on the list of things cats shouldn’t eat.
What was wrong with that person? Feeding potato chips to cats? Was it on purpose or because he did not know?
Among the customers who came to the pet shop, quite a few people didn’t know anything about pets. They always asked Zhang Zian to raise their knowledge and tell them some common knowledge about pets. Some of them thought that cats could eat anything and even fed them leftovers. They were basically lowering cats to the level of dogs.
But, if he knew very well that cats could not eat potato chips but still purposely fed it potato chips, then that would only mean that he had the tendency to abuse cats and was a potential enemy.
Treat comrades as warm as spring; treat work as hot as summer; treat individualism as the autumn wind sweeps the leaves; treat enemies as cruel as winter! Thinking about that, Vladimir’s gaze became cold.
Since it had been helping Fina train the Honorable Cat Guards of the Three Armies recently, it unconsciously adopted some of Fina’s mannerisms––such as the gaze Fina always used to stare at Zhang Zian. At that time, it unconsciously stared at the man with similar eyes.
Pa! Dong!
The supermarket bag full of junk food and large bottles of cola fell to the ground at the same time. Fortunately, the cap of the cola bottle was twisted on so it did not spill everywhere.
“Platelet” stared at Vladimir, his eyes wide with shock, and his already red face suddenly had a rush of blood. It became as red as a cooked prawn.
Vladimir, on the other hand, was scared. What was wrong with this person? Was he sick?
“Platelet” was so excited that he convulsed and knelt down in spite of the surprised eyes of onlookers. He knelt in front of Vladimir and cried out, “Quick! Stare at me with your eyes again!”
Vladimir was speechless. What was going on? When Zhang Zian was stared at with the same look, he seemed very helpless. Why was this person so excited?
The man looked very disgusting and Vladimir did not know why.
“Platelet” placed his hands together, begging it, “Please! Stare at me again with your eyes just now. You can make me do whatever you want. I can buy you a can of cat food every day!”
Vladimir stepped back silently, pulling the yellow and white kitten back a few steps. Although the man in front of him did not seem dangerous in the conventional sense, it seemed that something in his mind was broken. It was possible that he wouldn’t do something dangerous, but something very disgusting.
“Platelet” seemed to regard the pedestrians around him as air. He laid down on the ground in public, patted his trembling chest, and said to Vladimir, “I heard that cats like to walk on people’s chests? Come on––step on me! Come and step on my chest! Step hard! The harder the better! It’ll be better if you use that despising look when you step on it!”
Next to him, someone kindly asked him if he was ill and wanted help up. Others wanted to call an ambulance for him. He pushed them away and stared at Vladimir with a strange smile.
If Vladimir could sweat, it would have definitely had a head full of cold sweat.
Even when it was facing the Holy Cat statue alone, it probably did not have such an uncomfortable feeling. What a scary enemy!
As expected, in the night time, all kinds of strange ghosts and demons appeared. Although it was confident it could beat him with an iron fist, it felt that if he beat him, it might hit him in the place he wanted...
If the man could have understand it, it would have really liked to tell him that if he liked the look, then he could go to the Amazing Fate Pet Shop on Zhonghua Road where a cat could satisfy his requirements. He might even have a cat scratch his skin off.
“I don’t care anymore. Let’s take the strategic action of retreating!” Vladimir pulled the yellow and white kitten and hurriedly ran into the green area by the roadside, then disappeared in an instant.
