Knowing that Old Time Tea accompanied the juvenile Ye Wen to practice martial arts and knowing that it was blessed by the 2000-year spirit of Chinese martial arts, Zhang Zian wasn’t surprised that Old Time Tea could KO the seven Rainbow Fighters in no time. However, he was amazed that Old Time Tea could beat up all seven men so quickly and so precisely all while throwing their bodies in front of the store into the Chinese characters “benevolence” and “righteousness”. That was f*cking awesome!
He returned to the store and turned on the light. Upon seeing the mess in the shop, he was sad.
“Buddy, don’t be sad,” Old Time Tea said slowly after drinking one sip of tea. “When something is broken, a new and better replacement has to be established..”
Old Time Tea always had its own way of comforting Zhang Zian. He nodded.
“Didn’t you want to renovate the store? This is an excellent opportunity,” it continued.
“That’s right.”
Zhang Zian was inspired. Although the store was broken, all the pets were well, including Galaxy and Fina. That was fortunate.
When something is broken, a new and better replacement has to be established.
He just didn’t understand why Old Time Tea was only a “premier” grade elfin. It was the master of the 2000-year spirit of Chinese martial arts! Although it might not be as strong as Fina’s 6000 years of faith, in Zhang Zian’s mind, Old Time Tea deserved a better rating.
He didn’t want to ask the navigation elf in front of Old Time Tea, but he would sometime.
He was thinking about how to clean up the mess when he heard two familiar voices.
“Master! Master! How come you didn’t show us how you beat up those devil men?”
“Yeah, Master! That’s not fair! We have been longing to see your kungfu and you kicked us back to school early!”
Wang Qian and Li Kun ran up, trying to catch their breaths.
After they had left the pet shop, they wandered back to their dorm. As soon as they got back to their room, the other four guys were leaving.
“What are you guys doing? Going out to eat?” they asked.
The other four kids were shocked.
The leader of their dorm asked surprisingly, “Holy sh*t! Are you two okay? Don’t you work at the pet store?”
Wang Qian nodded.
“Precisely, we are cultivating immortality there,” Li Kun corrected him.
“What the f*ck? Isn’t cultivating immortality every night enough?” The leader ignored them. “Don’t you know? Someone posted online that the pet shop was broken into! I don’t know why there weren’t any pictures or videos. I thought you guys were in trouble, so I was about to have everyone go out to support you. The guys in the next room are ready too.”
Upon hearing that, Wang Qian and Li Kun knew that something had happened. They ran down the stairs and went straight back to the pet shop. They ran even faster than in gym class.
Want Qian asked as they ran, “Master… is Master going to be okay?”
Li Kun said breathlessly, “He should be fine. Master is a master! He is not a normal person.”
Wang Qian continued, “What if another master came? What if a group of masters came?”
Li Kun started to panic. He murmured, “Master is the best. He could fight against any group. Don’t worry! If there are a group of masters in town, the whole town will fail but he won’t!”
They ran all the way to the store which tired them out.
They stopped and looked around. Master was fine, and all the intruders were beaten up and kicked out of the store.
Wang Qian and Li Kun began crying, “Master, you are the best! We admire you so much!”
As Zhang Zian was having a headache on how to deal with these two, a group of more young kids came over.
“Master, are you recruiting students?”
“Master, you already have two students. We want to learn from you as well!”
“Master, money is not a problem. Give me a number. As long as I can learn real Kung Fu, I don’t care about how much I spend.”
The group gathered around, trying to express their admiration.
Zhang Zian was frightened. “Sh*t! I never knew silliness was contagious!”
“Hey, Master. You know Kung Fu, right?” Aunt Li’s husband asked.
Zhang Zian looked closely. Oh no! That was Aunt Li’s husband from the breakfast cart. How come he was silly, too?
Suddenly, a siren approached. Two police cars parked in front of the pet shop.
A few policemen jumped out of the car, told the crowd to leave and cordoned off the store.
The crowd stepped back, but their mutual admiration for Zhang Zian was beyond words.
The policemen were experienced. They knew immediately what had happened, seeing the mess and the people laying on the sidewalk. Some devil men still had pantyhose on their heads. It was a robbery.
“Owner, who is the owner?” A policeman who looked like the leader yelled.
“I am!” Zhang Zian stepped up.
“Come here to file a case.”
Zhang Zian walked over slowly and was thinking about what he should say.
Some policemen were taking pictures. Some were checking on the wounded people. They were surprised at how precisely the hits landed. If the person hit just a bit heavier, these guys would die.
“Captain Sheng,” a young policeman called out and waved.
Captain Sheng had Zhang Zian wait there and he headed up to the van.
“What’s up?” Captain Sheng asked.
The young policeman knocked at the van’s door. “No license plate.” He then pointed inside the van. “Mobile phone shielding device.”
Captain Sheng’s eyebrows gathered. They used a mobile phone shielding device which meant that they were likely to be experienced. This case should go from a robbery to a planned crime.
He turned around to look at Zhang Zian and told the young policeman, “search carefully and keep all the clues. These stupid guys are useless. They must have someone behind them.”
“Yes, sir.” The young policeman nodded.
Captain Sheng was going to get back to Zhang Zian when another policeman called, “Captain Sheng, one of the guys woke up.”
The golden-haired guy slowly opened his eyes. He couldn’t see clearly and only felt sharp pain in his knees. He wished that he hadn’t woken up.
Captain Sheng squatted down and asked seriously, “I am a policeman. Tell me the truth, who beat you up like this?”
The golden-haired guy grabbed Captain Sheng’s uniform. Fear was all over his face and he yelled, “It was a cat! It was a f*cking cat! That cat was evil… It agreed not to kill me… Mr. Policeman, please save me!”
“A cat?” Captain Sheng was full of confusion.
If the golden-haired guy had said it was a ghost from a foreign country, Captain Sheng would have been less surprised.
“That’s true. It was a cat!” the golden-haired guy recalled. The pain in his neck almost killed him when he moved.
