On Emerald Mist Island, Lu Mingshu flipped through the information that Yu Ruohan had given her.

The Grandmaster had been living in Jasper Sun Mountain for a long time as if he was trying to comprehend something in particular, and he had never left for the outside world.

The sects and aristocratic families in Beiming learned about the Grandmaster long ago, and they knew that he didn’t like to be disturbed.

Fifty or sixty years ago, somebody broke through the mountain and caught the Grandmaster’s eyes. He then learned some secret skills from the Grandmaster.

After the lucky guy leapt into heaven in one shot, everyone learned about Jasper Sun Mountain’s issue. Soon, they realized that every two years, the weak stream blocking the Jasper Sun Mountain entrance would weaken, and they could enter or exit the mountain freely.

At the start, many people went. Even Assimilation Realm elders went to consult the Grandmaster. However, regardless of whether they were Assimilation Realm or Spirit Realm cultivators, they could only stop at the stream. Only Harmonization Realm disciples were able to pass through.

The barrier opened up every two years, but for a long time, there weren’t any more lucky people chosen. Just when everyone was about to give up, another one was chosen.

On the last page of the information, there were the names of the two lucky people, and Lu Mingshu was dumbfounded.

Both names were familiar to her.

Lian Chi: an ordinary person who was now the sect leader of Ancient Jade Summit. He was currently in the Assimilation Realm, and he was one of the best in China right now.

Zhao Yin: born from an aristocratic family in Beiming. One of the very few aristocratic family disciples during the Qilin Festival. Ranked second on the Hero Ranking.

Before Lian Chi broke through to the Spirit Realm, he was just an ordinary disciple in Ancient Jade Summit. He got famous after breaking through to the Spirit Realm, then successfully reached the Assimilation Realm and became the sect leader of Ancient Jade Summit, one of the three biggest sects. It had always been a marvel to everyone.

Wow, so the marvel is related to the Grandmaster.

As for Zhao Yin, even though he was second on the Hero Ranking, he might not be weaker than first place. Luck was something that affected the Qilin Festival, just like how Lu Mingshu got first place. Zhao Yin was another man with ability.

With these two examples, it was no wonder why the people in Beiming were rushing like mad ducks now.

The Bon Voyage Fleet hadn’t been established for long; only about thirty years or so. At the start, they weren’t even allowed in the test of Jasper Sun Mountain. After that, they paid a very huge price, and the bigger powers agreed on letting them participate.

The Grandmaster himself had never raised any rules and regulations. They were all raised by the participants themselves.

For instance, the powerful sects and aristocratic families could send three disciples, the middle-tiered groups could send two, followed by the weakest forces, which could send one.

Unfortunately, it was only one for the Bon Voyage Fleet.

Seeing this, Lu Mingshu admired the courage of the fleet’s upper echelon.

She had only been known by everyone here for a day. After seeing her in the day, Yu Ruohan came to help her out at night and asked for her favour the next day.

It’s not something that normal people could do. Giving this precious chance to an outsider?

And this was also enough to show how bad their situation was now.

Lu Mingshu could tell.

Under normal situations, the Bon Voyage Fleet shouldn’t need to be so urgent about the matter. Even though it was hard to acquire a blessed land, they could go to an aristocratic family to borrow one. As long as they could pay the price, they would surely get it. And even if they couldn’t get one in Beiming, they could travel somewhere else. In the worst case, they would have to travel to Zhongzhou, but they would surely be able to get a blessed land.

However, the Bon Voyage Fleet didn’t do that, which was enough to prove a few points.

They were unable to leave Beiming, and it was a very urgent matter to them.

She then connected it to how the Ye Family behaved and what Captain Ding said, so she could roughly guess what was going on.

It was a tough situation that the fleet was facing now. The one who was going to break through to the Assimilation Realm couldn’t leave Beiming because he was afraid that, after he left, the Ye Family would come straight over and take fleet. So what if he succeeded in reaching the Assimilation Realm at that point? The Ye Family had two Assimilation Realms, so he couldn’t possibly go to them and snatch the fleet back.

The situation was also urgent because a Spirit Realm wasn’t enough to make the Ye Family give up. If he didn’t get into the Assimilation Realm before the Ye Family ran out of patience, they would just take the fleet by force.

Because of this, the fleet made a bet to trust an outsider like her. Lu Mingshu didn’t believe that they were giving her the slot because of her master. Liu Jizhen and Yu Ruohan hadn’t kept in touch for a long time, and relationships needed to be maintained to become deep. There was no doubt it had faded by now. Lu Mingshu should already be thankful that Yu Ruohan lent her a helping hand earlier.

Lu Mingshu calmed herself down and moved on to the next set of information.

No matter what reason they have for giving me the chance, since I have decided to participate, I’m going to do my best.

...

Wen Xin’s hung her head low, gulping down alcohol at the tavern’s bar.

A beauty like her would be popular at such a place, but her gloomy face shooed away everyone who tried to talk to her.

The stench of sweat and body odour filled the air. This was not a high-class bar, but one that many boatmen and coolies gathered in to gamble and boast. It was a clamorous one.

However, that didn’t bother Wen Xin. Most of the Bon Voyage Fleet people were born as Jianghu people. They did what they wished and usually gathered at this kind of tavern that was a hubbub of gambling and drinking. Wen Xin wasn’t some Miss from a rich family. She was already used to this kind of environment, so there was nothing to be bothered about.

After a few moments, someone sat down beside her and called over the bartender. “Give this Miss the best alcohol you have.”

Wen Xin looked up at him with frustration. Do you think I can’t afford high-class alcohol? She was a herald of the Bon Voyage Fleet and a Spirit Realm Elder’s disciple. No matter which identity she used, it wasn’t something that others could compare to easily.

“Get out of my god damn sight, nobody here wants you to treat them.” I just want to drink alone, can’t you tell?

“Woah, Miss Wen, calm down!” The person giggled. “Upset about the Jasper Sun Mountain matter?”

Upon hearing the words “Jasper Sun Mountain,” Wen Xin looked up at him abruptly.

His looks were ordinary; neither handsome nor ugly. He was bulky, and he was wearing a sort of t-shirt. Most youngsters in Remainder Island wore this type of clothing, and if they weren’t working as a clerk, they would be working as a boatman to sustain their household’s livelihood.

“Who on earth are you?” Wen Xin gave him a death glare.

A youngster like this who talks about Jasper Sun Mountain? Even my knee can tell that he’s not simple. Only the core members of power sects and families know about it.

The youngster smiled at her cheekily as he poured the alcohol that the bartender passed him into Wen Xin’s cup. “I heard that Miss Wen is unable to go to the mountain now.”

Wen Xin’s face fell. “You can get the hell out of here if you’re here to laugh at me!”

“Calm down, calm down!” The youngster grinned. “I’m just worried about Miss.”

Wen Xin side-eyed him.

In the noisy tavern, there was nobody who took notice of them.

“My young master feels indignant on Miss’s behalf. You’ve been there since you were young, yet you’re nothing compared to an outsider? I really don’t know what your elders’ brains are made of.”

“Don’t you fucking dare badmouth my master and senior aunt!” Wen Xin growled, but she didn’t make a move.

The youngster flashed her a wide smile. “I’m just speaking the truth. Miss Wen, elders make mistake too. They are humans.”

“So, what the hell does it have to do with you?”

“I just said that my young master felt indignant for you!” The youngster repeated.

Wen Xin stared at him cautiously. “Who the hell is your young master?”
