Chapter 282: Gone
Ling Wuxia breathed in and out to calm herself down.
Calm down, calm down. There’s no advantage in getting physical with this bitch now. Yi Lan mentioned that the queen of Zhongzhou has sent people over, and it’s Xiahou Shan. If I fight her here, I’ll have trouble with the queen later on.
Besides, what would she gain from fighting with Lu Mingshu? Ling Wuxia had been well-known for such a long time already, and fighting Lu Mingshu now would just be serving herself up as a stepping stone. Ling Wuxia was not that stupid.
And after the trip to Volt Wing City, Ling Wuxia was clear that, even though she was stronger than Lu Mingshu and would win, Lu Mingshu had a lot of skills that Ling Wuxia had yet to see.
Unless she could defeat Lu Mingshu without letting her seize the chance to use those skills, she would lose even if she won the fight. It would just allow Lu Mingshu to display her skills.
“Senior Sister!” Yi Lan sniffed. “I’m glad you’re fine! Sect Master came, but even he couldn’t find you! They are even thinking about breaking the Grandmaster’s defences by force.”
Seeing her, Ling Wuxia felt warmed up. She patted Yi Lan and smiled. “It’s okay, we took a while longer for the last test.”
“Okay....”
She cleaned up Yi Lan’s injury and held her. “Let’s go back.”
“Okay.” Yi Lan then turned to Ye Mingguang, giving him a death stare. Seeing Lu Mingshu in the corner of her eyes, she decided to give her a death stare too before she went off.
As soon as they could no longer be seen, Lu Mingshu turned back to Ye Mingguang. “So, what happened?”
Ye Mingguang, who had been putting on a dark face for a while now, started fumbling under Lu Mingshu’s stare.
“Nothing,” Ye Mingguang muttered. “Since Miss is fine, I’ll get going.”
He turned around to go off.
“Wait!” Lu Mingshu shouted toward him. “You abolished your cultivation?”
Ye Mingguang remained silent. He nodded after a while.
“The Ye Family kicked you out?”
Since he had already admitted the main thing, Ye Mingguang decided to just be frank. “It was my own will. I abolished my cultivation and said I would never go back because that’s what I want.”
“Just because you saved me?”
Ye Mingguang sighed. “I did so because I owe you. Besides, I was never happy back at the Ye Family, so I might as well take this chance to leave. You need not feel guilty,” he said after a while.
“Of course not,” Lu Mingshu replied. “I didn’t do anything to put you in this state.”
Ye Mingguang remained quiet, not responding.
“But what are your plans now?” Lu Mingshu probed. “The Ye Family would have left by now. With only your Inner Breath Realm cultivation, you can’t even leave this mountain.”
Ye Mingshu took a deep breath and looked at the sky. “Then I won’t leave. My meridians are still damaged, and I need a place to recover. This mountain is good. It’s good for cultivating, and the Ye Family won’t dare to do anything here because of the Grandmaster. I’ll only need a few years to get back to the Harmonization Realm, and at that point, I’ll go anywhere I want. The world is so big.”
This was the first time Ye Mingguang ever said so much in front of someone. By his tone, it was obvious that he already had this thought for quite a while.
Lu Mingshu nodded. He’s doing this so that he would have no choice but to strive on. If one isn’t strict to oneself, how will one succeed?
She fumbled around her sleeves and threw him two items.
Ye Mingguang was taken aback by the items that suddenly flew at him.
There was a wooden box and a scroll in his hands now.
“There’s medicine in the box. Injuring your meridians is not a minor thing. As for the book of martial arts, I got it by chance. Since you abolished the Ye Family’s skills, learn that.”
Ye Mingguang felt extremely weird. He thought that she didn’t care about him since she said she didn’t feel guilty.
“Miss Lu....”
Lu Mingshu turned around and went off.
Ye Mingguang stared at the items and just stood there.
...
Soon, Lu Mingshu could see the tents set up on the foot of the mountain. She saw Ling Wuxia, with many Ancient Jade Summit disciples surrounding her. The other main group still here was the Bon Voyage Fleet. Other than Yu Ruohan and the rest, there was a group of people wearing the clothing of Zhongzhou’s royalty. Xie Zhanghui was one of them.
Seeing her walking over, these people heaved a sigh of relief.
“Miss Lu!” Yu Ruohan came up to her. “I’m so glad that you’re safe and sound!”
“Sorry for making Senior worry.”
Lu Mingshu greeted Mao Xuan and the rest before turning toward Xie Zhanghui.
Xie Zhanghui looked pale. After seeing her, he heaved a sigh of relief, but he still looked pale.
“Miss Lu.”
“Guardian Xie, why are you here?” Lu Mingshu asked. By right, Xie Zhanghui would never leave Xie Lianzhen. As a bodyguard, he only guarded Xie Lianzhen, not anyone else.
Xie Zhanghui hesitated. “Young Master went missing after he found out that Miss went missing.”
“Can you repeat that?” Lu Mingshu stared at him, dumbfounded.
“Young Master is missing.” Xie Zhanghui looked at her and raised his volume. “That’s why I’m here. But...”
“But what?” Lu Mingshu felt her heart sink.
What Xie Zhanghui means is that Xie Lianzhen came here for me? But if that’s true, why did I not see him? And why does Xie Zhanghui not look well?
“Emissary Xiahou came before me. She has been here for half a month, but she couldn’t find him.” Xie Zhanghui sounded depressed. “Emissary Xiahou isn’t here right now because she went to look for him.”
“...”
Lu Mingshu took in a deep breath and waved. “Let’s talk after we get back.”
“Miss Lu?” Xie Zhanghui looked at her, obviously displeased with what she was doing. Young Master came all the way here for you even though he still hasn’t recovered, and yet you’re so calm after knowing he’s missing?
“He’s not here. I wouldn’t help if I just stay here. If you aren’t at ease, we can leave someone here to wait.”
Xie Zhanghui thought about it and nodded. “Might as well.”
The people that came along with Xiahou Shan and Xie Zhanghui were people that the queen trusted, so there was no objection. After Xie Zhanghui informed them, two prepared to stay behind in case Xie Lianzhen ever came back. The rest packed up their stuff and got ready to return.
It didn’t take long before all of them boarded the boat.
Ling Wuxia huffed before making her way over.
“Miss Lu.”
Lu Mingshu turned back.
Ling Wuxia plastered a smile on her face. “No matter what, we have gone through hardships together. If you ever meet with difficulties here in Beiming, you can always come to me. I’ll try my best to help.”
Lu Mingshu laughed and nodded. “Thank you very much.” The Ling Wuxia in Volt Wing City was much cuter than this.
Both smiled at each other, but only they knew what each other really meant.
“Goodbye.” After this, Lu Mingshu went on the boat.
Soon, the boat set sail. One standing on the boat, the other on the ground, bidding each other goodbye.
Seeing this, an Ancient Jade Summit disciple squealed, “They are so cute! Such a heartwarming scene!”
Yi Lan rolled her eyes upon hearing this.
