Chapter 318: Dealing With The Dragon God, Mid-End Existential Planes
“Who would have thought that things would turn out like that!”
The Beast God and the Titan Spiritual God floated in the air a great distance away. Both were sporting exceptionally awful looks on their faces. The scene unfolding before their eyes had completely exceeded their expectations.
Not only had Meng Lei broken through in the midst of battle, but he had even slain the Great Demon God-level Abyss Skeletal Dragon.
Just what kind of combat strength was that?
After a long period of dead silence, the Titan Spiritual God was still the one that chose to break the silence first. He asked, “What should we do now, Haylem?”
Meng Lei’s breakthrough had given him a huge sense of crisis. Not only had he offended Meng Lei before, but he even owned territories that amounted to over 100 existential planes!
Would Meng Lei even let him off?
“Now that things have come to such a pass, we have no other choice now.” The Beast God sighed and said, “We can only offer him our sincerity and maintain friendly relations with him.”
“Maintain friendly relations with him?”
The Titan Spiritual God’s facial features twitched, wishing that he could throw a punch at the Beast God and kill him.
Not only have you never freaking offended Meng Lei before, but you also own only a few territories! If you curry a little favor with him, maybe he’ll let you off.
But what about me?
Would he let me off?
...
“Lord Ambrose has actually died!”
The Dragon God was also filled with immense shock and horror. He had fantasized about the operation’s various possible outcomes but never had he ever thought that the final outcome would turn out like this.
All 50 Dark Demonic Dragons had died, and even Ambrose, who was a higher deity, had also died!
They had been annihilated!
Just how fierce and desperate had the battle been?
Meng Lei gazed at the Dragon God, who was floating in the sky all alone. He said leisurely with a smile, “O Your Holiness the great Dragon God, you probably never imagined that things would turn out like this before you had descended upon Heaven’s Vault Continent with Ambrose and the others, right?”
“L-lord Meng Lei!”
The Dragon God gave him a smile that looked worse than a grimace. He trembled like a leaf and shook in his boots.
“Don’t worry. You won’t be able to escape even when they’re already dead.” Meng Lei said dispassionately, “Let’s go and have a little tour around your divine nation. I’ll send you on your way, too!”
“My d-divine nation?”
The Dragon God shuddered all over. At once, he dispelled his divinity projection and vanished into the air. He had to make his escape and leave as soon as possible!
In the event that Meng Lei successfully locked on to his divine nation’s location via his divinity projection, he would be totally finished and would never have the chance to ever make a comeback again.
“Dodola, you should have locked on to the Dragon God’s divine nation by now, right?” Meng Lei asked calmly.
“Don’t worry!”
Dodola smiled and replied, “The Dragon God’s divine nation is in the cluster of floating continents right outside Heaven’s Vault Continent. It’s very near Heaven’s Vault Continent!”
“Wonderful!”
Meng Lei nodded slightly. “Bring me there!”
“Alright!”
...
Outside Heaven’s Vault Continent was the boundless Void. It was a place like outer space. There were no magic elements and no air there. The only things there were turbulent, havoc-wreaking space-time fluxes and meteors with only dead silence around them.
Some of these meteors were bigger than even continents. Hence they were also known as floating continents. There was a densely-packed cluster of them right outside the Heaven’s Vault Continent existential plane.
Much like asteroid belts that orbited around the sun, these floating continents also orbited around the Heaven’s Vault Continent existential plane. They orbited in a messy and disorderly manner yet did not interfere with one another.
“Most deities would usually choose floating continents like these to build their divine nations on.”
Dodola explained, “Not only are these floating continents exceedingly tough and sturdy, but they are also extremely huge, hence making them exceptionally wonderful places to build divine nations on.”
Meng Lei nodded slightly. When looking at them from afar, the floating continents looked just like meteors. However, when one went nearer, they would realize that some of them were astonishingly huge and were therefore indeed very suitable to build divine nations on.
“The best place to build divine nations on aren’t floating continents, though.” A smiling Dodola said, “Make a guess—where’s the best place to build a divine nation?”
Meng Lei raised an eyebrow at the question. After a moment of musing, he answered, “Although a divine nation is a deity’s base, they are still a world in essence. Rather than paying a huge price to modify a lifeless floating continent, one might as well just directly occupy a material plane instead.”
At this point, Meng Lei frowned and added, “The only inadequacy is that material planes are too small. They don’t seem to be able to house that many worshipers.”
The main purpose of a deity’s divine nation was ultimately to house their pious worshipers’ souls after their deaths and reconstruct bodies for them so that they could continue to provide power of faith for them. At the end of the day, it ultimately still couldn’t get away from the three words “power of faith”.
By developing a material plane into a divine nation, one would be able to dispense with an infinite amount of modification work, of course. However, material planes were only that big. They might be sufficient for true gods and lesser deities, but for intermediate deities and especially for higher deities, they were indeed too small. There wasn’t enough space.
One must know that higher deities usually owned almost 100 existential planes’ worth of power of faith domains. How many worshipers died each day? Over the course of hundreds and thousands of years, how many worshipers would die?
How could a material plane possibly house all of them?
Therefore, material planes were certainly suitable to be used as divine nations, but they were too small!
“Bingo, material planes are indeed ready-made divine nations. You need only to refine the Heart of The Existential Plane, and you’ll be in absolute control in your existential plane.”
A smiling Dodola said, “There are certainly issues about insufficient space in the case of material planes. Therefore, that makes mid-end existential planes the most perfect places to build divine nations on!”
“Mid-end existential planes?”
Meng Lei was a little taken aback.
“Yes, mid-end existential planes!”
Dodola smiled and explained, “All things are classified into various grades and ranks, and the same goes for existential planes. There are half-planes where laws of nature are flawed and incomplete, low-end material planes where laws of nature are whole, as well as vast, boundless high-end existential planes.
“However, in between low-end material planes and high-end existential planes exist also the mid-end existential planes.
“Mid-end existential planes are inferior to high-end existential planes in terms of the vastness of size, richness of magic elements, and laws of nature’ degree of clarity, but are far superior to low-end existential planes.
“And the most important factor,” Dodola turned to Meng Lei with a shrewd glint in its eyes, “There are far more mid-end existential planes than high-end ones. In fact, as long as you can afford it, you can even buy mid-end existential planes, as well as their seeds!”
“Y-you can buy them?”
A huge jolt went through Meng Lei.
“Of course! However, they are very hard to find.”
Dodola let out a sneaky laugh and said, “My master, the God of Time, managed to buy a mid-end existential plane seed back then and subsequently nurtured it into his divine nation. Its size is easily a million times that of a low-end material plane’s!”
“A million times?” Meng Lei couldn’t help but gasp. “How big must that be?”
“Very big! Extremely big!”
A smiling Dodola said, “Thus, the value of a mid-end existential plane is priceless. Most typical higher deities can’t afford them, even if they were to spend their whole fortune. Mid-end existential plane seeds come slightly cheaper, though, but they still aren’t something that the average higher deity can afford, either.”
“What a shame! I can’t afford one.”
Meng Lei couldn’t help but sigh. He was just a higher deity born in a native existential plane. In terms of family fortune, he was definitely the poorest among the higher deities!
Buy a mid-end existential plane?
He wouldn’t be able to afford it even if they chopped him up and sold him in bits and pieces!
“You don’t need to buy one,” Dodola gave him a mysterious smile, “Have you forgotten that I have a high-end existential plane seed in my hands?”
Meng Lei rolled his eyes and replied, “Of course I remember that. Didn’t you say that I was too weak and not qualified enough to nurture that high-end existential plane?”
“That was then, but this is now.”
Dodola smiled at him and said, “Back then, you were just a tiny little Saint Domain. Naturally, you wouldn’t qualify. But you’re already a higher deity, so the time has come!”
“Do you mean to say that I can nurture that high-end existential plane seed now?”
Meng Lei’s eyes lit up like light bulbs. After all, it was said that high-end existential planes could nurture Chief God divine cores!
