Chapter 359: The King’s Providence, The Heart of The Existential Plane
A million experts from foreign existential planes stood proudly in the sky and gazed upon Monarch Mountain with utmost greed. They clearly thought that they already had the Great Prophet in the bag.
And, of course, the Monarch’s treasure, too. They were determined to get their hands on it!
As for the innumerable Boundless Giants guarding Monarch Mountain, they didn’t think much of them at all.
While it seemed like there were numerous Boundless Giants there, their overall combat strength was far from ideal. There was a world of difference and no comparability between the two parties at all.
“You foolish giants!”
“If you know what’s good for you, then get the Great Prophet out here at once!”
“Otherwise, we don’t mind filling this place with blood!”
The experts from foreign existential planes shouted and clamored for their demands, their demeanors arrogant and conceited. The innumerable Boundless Giants in the vicinity of Monarch Mountain gnashed their teeth in fury, wishing they could fight to the death with them.
“Those evil extraterrestrial demons! They are too much! I’m going to fight it out with them!”
“That’s right! Fight it out with them!”
“Fight it out with them? You fools! Our mission is to guard the Great Prophet and ensure his safety, not to fight it out with those extraterrestrial demons. Get it?”
The strongest Boundless Giant among them barked fiercely at them. His name was Olio, and he was the strongest existence on the Boundless Plane itself. He was also the Great Prophet’s guardian and held absolute authority on the Boundless Plane.
The riled-up Boundless Giants quietened at once the moment he spoke. There was trust in their eyes. As long as Big Brother Olio was around, they had nothing to fear. Big Brother Olio was the strongest!
Yet what they didn’t know was that Big Brother Olio, whom they thought of as the strongest, was currently in a huge panic. He wasn’t confident in beating them at all!
Olio could sense that the extraterrestrial demons were unprecedentedly strong this time. They were far, far stronger than the ones that had descended upon the continent in the past, especially when there were even quite a few among them who weren’t any weaker than himself!
What... were they supposed to do this time?
Olio’s countenance remained stoic, but he could hardly conceal the despair in his heart. He knew very well that they, the Boundless Giants, were currently facing the most terrifying catastrophe that they had ever had!
Show even a moment of carelessness, and they, the Boundless Giants, would completely become history itself!
O Great Prophet, I beg you, please give me a sign! Olio cried inwardly.
“Is the Great Prophet coming out or not?”
“If he’s not coming out, then we’re going to charge in there!”
“So, it seems like you want to do this the hard way! Let’s attack together, everyone! Once we wipe out those foolish Boundless Giants, we’ll naturally find their Great Prophet!”
“Attack!”
At last, the million experts from foreign existential planes could no longer hold back, and they launched their attacks. The strongest deities and Great Demon Gods among them took the lead and charged brazenly toward the Boundless Giants.
“Damn it!”
“They’re coming!”
“We’ll protect the Great Prophet even if we must die!”
“Fight to the death and protect Monarch Mountain!”
Boom!
Like huge, raging black waves, the million experts surged toward Monarch Mountain as though they were going to drown out the Boundless Giants and Monarch Mountain itself.
Against such attacks, the Boundless Giants naturally didn’t just sit and await death to befall them. They forged ahead in the face of the crisis, and both parties clashed against each other with a great boom.
Boom!
As though two huge waves had clashed against each other, vast and mighty shockwaves that shook the world erupted and spread into the surroundings. The dimension around them broke into pieces. Energy blasts ran rampant, strong gales wreaked havoc, and blood splashed everywhere...
The area around Monarch Mountain instantly became Hell itself. Vast numbers of Boundless Giants died tragically. The two parties weren’t in the same league at all!
One could easily envisage that the Boundless Giants would all be killed before long. Against the ferocious and terrifyingly strong experts from foreign existential planes, they didn’t have a chance of victory at all.
“Save them, Uncle!”
Anxiety and worry surfaced in Samo’s eyes. He turned to Meng Lei with a pleading look, hoping that he would render his assistance.
“Don’t worry. Uncle will definitely do something about it.”
Meng Lei gestured at Samo to calm down. Then, he said with a smile, “Before that, though, Uncle’s gonna bring you somewhere first.”
“Where are we going?”
A puzzled look came over Samo’s face, and then he realized that he had already arrived somewhere new.
“This is... The peak of Monarch Mountain?”
Samo was stunned.
“Yes, we’re at the peak.”
Meng Lei nodded lightly.
Monarch Mountain was tall and narrow, so the peak wasn’t very wide or spacious. In spite of that, a majestic shrine stood tall on the cramped and narrow peak.
The shrine was gray in color, and it was of an identical color palette to the Boundless Plane. Simple and boorish in style, it matched the Boundless Giants’ architectural style very much.
“The Monarch Shrine!” Samo exclaimed in a low voice.
He was incredibly excited, as though he had just seen something that existed only in legends.
“Let’s go in and take a look.”
Meng Lei gave him a smile and walked toward the Monarch Shrine while Samo hurriedly followed after him.
However, before they could push the doors open and enter, the Monarch Shrine’s doors slowly swung open by themselves. A deep, aged voice then floated out from within.
“You’ve come?”
“Uh...”
Meng Lei was stupefied for a moment there. He didn’t quite know what was going on. Nevertheless, he continued into the shrine, where the majestic statue of a Giant stood.
Clad in beast hide, the Giant held a gigantic axe.
His eyes were sharp and his countenance stern and awe-inspiring.
Meng Lei had never seen the Boundless King, but he could guess that that must be a statue of the Boundless King himself.
Of course, the statue wasn’t the point here. Rather, the target of Meng Lei’s attention was a white-haired elderly man seated cross-legged at the foot of the statue.
Short and small and as skinny as a stick, he was vastly different from the big, tall, strong, and muscular Boundless Giants.
“You’ve finally come, o he who is favored by the King!” The old man slowly lifted his head, revealing an aged visage covered in age spots.
“Are you the Great Prophet?”
Meng Lei looked the old man up and down with a puzzled look on his face. He asked, “What did you mean when you said what you did just now? It sounds as if you knew that I’d be coming?”
“Cough, cough!”
The Great Prophet started to cough badly. Then he replied, “Though the great Boundless King has perished, his brilliance continues to watch over and bless his descendants. It’s just a shame,” the Great Prophet sighed softly and said, “That the descendants were unfilial and ultimately couldn’t fulfill his dying wishes. I am truly ashamed!”
“Why is your explanation confusing me more and more, Great Prophet?” Meng Lei picked his ears and asked, “Can you be a little clearer?”
“Haha, you’ll understand right away!”
The Great Prophet gave a raspy laugh and slowly got onto his feet with his walking stick’s help. Then, he turned and walked right up to the statue and shifted one of the statue’s thumbs.
Crack!
The floor in front of the statue suddenly cracked and revealed a magic circle.
Meng Lei raised an eyebrow and immediately recognized with just a glance that it was just a regular teleportation magic circle. There was nothing complex or profound about it.
The Great Prophet activated the magic circle and said to Meng Lei, “Go ahead and enter, he who is favored by the King. You will receive the answers you are looking for within!”
Meng Lei asked with a frown, “Where exactly does this teleportation magic circle lead to, Great Prophet?”
“The place where you wish to go!”
After uttering these few words, the Great Prophet retreated to the side and stayed there. As though an old monk that had entered a state of meditation, his head was hung low, and he didn’t speak anymore. No matter how Meng Lei tried to probe him, he was as if a woodblock and simply didn’t say even a word more.
“I can’t help but find the whole thing rather strange, Meng Lei.” Dodola said gravely, “You’d better think carefully about whether or not you really want to go in.”
“I’ll go! There’s nothing much to really think about.”
Surprisingly, Meng Lei didn’t hesitate much. He said, “The metal-origin divine body, wood-origin divine body, and thunder-origin divine body are all in me now, so my body is even stronger than the average Great Perfection deity now. Added to this my time-based laws of nature, I’m confident that I can put up a fight even if a Chief God makes an appearance!”
Meng Lei then said to Samo, “Stay here and wait for me to return, Samo. I’ll be back in a jiffy!”
“‘kay, Uncle!”
Meng Lei stepped into the teleportation circle and vanished from where he was. Only then did the Great Prophet raise his head, a bright gleam flashing across his murky eyes.
Whoosh!
The world spun for a while, and then, Meng Lei arrived somewhere else.
Dazzling and eye-catching light of ten colors filled the whole world. There was eye-catching metal, burning fire, heavy earth, vitality wood, flashing thunder, gentle water...
Rich laws of nature auras rippled throughout the place at will. Apart from that, there was also pure, unadulterated Power of Origin enveloping Meng Lei!
Floating quietly in the center of this whole world was a crystal that shone with light of ten colors. As though the sun, it reigned over the whole world.
“The Heart of The Existential Plane!”
Meng Lei recognized the crystal at first glance.
“You’re here.”
It was right at this moment that a deep and boorish-sounding voice abruptly rang out beside his ear.
