Chapter 364: Six Great Perfection Deities, The Moon Goddess
Terrifying divine power engulfed the whole place, crushing down wantonly on the goddesses’ souls. It weighed down on them, causing their petite forms to shake like leaves and filling their hearts with extreme fear.
“A Great Perfection deity!”
“That’s a Great Perfection deity!”
At that moment, another terrifying figure rushed out of the dimensional gate and appeared in the air.
He had an elephant head and a human body. Standing at 1,000-feet-tall, he held a gigantic axe and was covered from head to toe in golden armor. He gave off immense divine power that was in no way inferior to the previous figure’s.
This wasn’t the last of them, however. Right on the heels of his appearance, a few other figures also charged out of the dimensional gate. As though someone had stirred a hornet’s nest, people rushed out of the dimensional gate one after another.
Every one of them gave off vast, majestic divine power, their powerful auras reaching far beyond the clouds.
“O Nature Goddess above!”
“S-so many Great Perfection deities!”
“There are as many as six Great Perfection deities there!”
“How incredible!”
“How unbelievable!”
“How inconceivable!”
The goddesses were horror-stricken.
What kind of existence were Great Perfection deities?
They were supreme existences second only to Chief Gods in the vast universe! They possessed unrivaled strength and exalted social statuses unmatched by others.
Think about it, once a godly clan produced a Great Perfection deity, they would become eligible and be in the position to dominate a whole region. As long as they didn’t mess with a Chief God, the clan would be able to live on for generations and prosper for eternity!
Existences on a level like that were usually elusive and nowhere to be found, yet six had appeared in one go. This was practically a sight that could frighten one to death!
“He’s doomed!”
“That guy’s doomed for sure!”
“Those six Great Perfection deities are going to rip him into shreds and thoroughly kill him!”
The goddesses murmured under their breaths. They had realized that the major godly clans’ revenge had come. Now that six Great Perfection deities had personally come over, there was little chance that Meng Lei would survive.
“Ebenezer, Adolphus, Burnside! You’re here!”
Gaianos, the lofty figure that had been the first to appear, swept his gaze across the five Great Perfection deities. His voice was as though thunderclaps were exploding in the air.
“Yeah!”
The five other deities made sounds of acknowledgment. Then, their gazes fell onto the Fairy Goddess and the others, and they asked aloofly, “Are all of you part of the Nature Gods?”
“Y-yes, sir!” answered the Lava Goddess with a bow.
“I heard that everyone that entered the Boundless Plane is dead. Why are all of you still alive?” asked Gaianos with a frown.
He was the only Great Perfection deity among the Theodore Titan Gods in the Thunderbolt Divine Realm and was also Gregg Theodore’s father.
“Sir, t-this...”
Lost for words, the Lava Goddess was filled to the brim with fear. Indeed, all the experts that had come to the Boundless Plane were dead, yet they were still alive and unscathed.
How were they supposed to explain this?
Were they supposed to say that Meng Lei had let them off on account of Diana, the Fairy Goddess?
Should they say that, the six Great Perfection deities would probably take it out on Diana. It was likely that she would be in danger.
“What’s the matter?”
Gaianos’ expression darkened slightly.
However, it was right at that moment that a soft and gentle voice rang out. “Gaianos, are you trying to vent your anger regarding your son’s death on us, the Nature Gods?”
A huge jolt went through the Lava Goddess’ petite form, and she turned to the newcomer agitatedly. “Greetings, Lady Elune!”
“Greetings, Lady Elune!”
The other goddesses also bowed in greeting.
The newcomer wore a white chiffon dress. The incredibly beautiful woman carrying an elegant and tranquil air around her was none other than the Nature Gods’ Great Perfection deity—Elune, the Moon Goddess.
Elune’s gaze swept across all the goddesses. Upon seeing that they were all safe and well, she heaved a sigh of relief and said, “I’m glad all of you are alright. Rise, everyone.”
“Thank you, Lady Elune!”
The goddesses thanked her and got back up. Then, all of them flew behind the Moon Goddess. It was as though they would only be able to gain a sense of security by staying behind her.
“Lady Elune, why have you come, too?” asked the puzzled Lava Goddess.
“I had no choice but to come. The Divine Realm is in a huge uproar!” The Moon Goddess shook her head lightly and said, “News of how the experts that the major godly clans had dispatched to the Boundless Plane have all been killed spread throughout all the major Divine Realms a long time ago. The great Chief God is worried about your safety, so they instructed me to hurry over. Fortunately, all of you are alright!”
Her words touched the Lava Goddess. She wasn’t surprised in the least that commotions had broken out in all the major Divine Realms. After all, this incident was simply too astounding.
Given the huge incident, it would be stranger if the major clans could keep their calm instead!
“My son was killed! The murderer is truly perverse and arrogant to the extreme!”
An expressionless Gaianos said, “All I want now is to find that knave and rip him into a million pieces to vent my anger! Elune, I won’t make things difficult for those young ones, but they must answer a few of my questions. Surely I’m not going too far with this request?”
“To be honest, I have a lot of questions on my mind, too.”
The Moon Goddess nodded slightly. She turned to the Lava Goddess and asked in puzzlement, “Ukana, I heard that the murderer is a bloodthirsty and ruthless one that killed all the experts that had come to the Boundless Plane, including deities from each of the major Divine Realms, as well as demons and the Undead from the unholy faction. Why were all of you the only ones that he spared?”
The moment the question left her mouth, Gaianos, Ebenezer, Adolphus, the other few Great Perfection deities also turned to the Lava Goddess with puzzlement in their eyes.
The Lava Goddess felt immense pressure from having seven Great Perfection deities staring at her. However, she had no choice but to press on and reply, “My lady, Diana may have something to do with it.”
“Diana?”
The Moon Goddess was slightly taken aback by her answer. She turned to the Fairy Goddess in puzzlement and asked, “What does this have to do with you?”
A wry smile appeared on the Fairy Goddess’ countenance as she replied, “Lady Elune, Meng Lei is from a low-end existential plane that was under my control called Heaven’s Vault Continent. At that time, I noticed that he has a metal-origin divine body and thought of inviting him to join the Natural Goddesses System, so I gave him Heaven’s Vault Continent as a welcome gift. Perhaps it was on account of this bit of friendship between us that Meng Lei hadn’t made things difficult for us.”
The Moon Goddess nodded lightly.
Although the Natural Goddesses System was named as such, it didn’t mean that there weren’t any male deities among them.
In truth, the Natural Goddesses System also took in talented male deity geniuses in order to strengthen itself.
If Meng Lei really had a metal-origin divine body, then he would indeed be a rare genius. It would also make sense why Diana had intentions of bringing him into the Natural Goddesses System.
“Since he’s a genius that owns a metal-origin divine body, then why haven’t I heard you mention it before, Diana?”
The puzzled Moon Goddess raised another question. It was undoubtedly the most suitable to have geniuses join a faction while they were still weak. After all, the weaker they were, the easier it would be to bring them in.
But Meng Lei?
He was already capable of slaughtering high-level higher deities at will now. Given his strength, why hadn’t Diana mentioned him before? She should have referred Meng Lei to the organization a long time ago instead!
“Lady Elune, it’s not that I wasn’t willing to refer him to the organization. Rather, it’s because his growth was simply too fast!”
The Fairy Goddess could only chuckle wryly as she said, “His growth rate was so fast that it had gone beyond my expectations. It was to the extent that he had already reached what he is now before I could even refer him to the organization.”
“Is it that fast?”
The Moon Goddess was taken aback. How fast were they talking about? Three seconds?
“Lady Elune, he’s not even 45 years old yet this year,” replied the Fairy Goddess with a wry smile.
“45 years old!?”
“What nonsense!”
“That’s utter bull!”
Before the Moon Goddess could even speak, Gaianos and the other Great Perfection deities were already sneering.
“How can that knave possibly be younger than 45 years old when he can slaughter high-level higher deities and high-level Great Demon Gods at will? Are you insulting our intelligence?”
“Diana, you can’t just joke about something like that,” chided the Moon Goddess, whose brows were also lightly drawn together.
The Fairy Goddess hurriedly said, “Lady Elune, why would I joke about something like that with you? Meng Lei indeed hasn’t yet reached 45 years old this year. I swear this upon my divine spirit!”
Making an oath upon one’s divine spirit...
The Moon Goddess fell silent, as did the other six Great Perfection deities.
