Chapter 176
Chapter 176
Lily felt something coming up on her from behind and she quickly formed an ice wall behind her as a giant wolf slammed into it! It was about to kill her, wasn’t it? Han wasn’t even giving her a chance!?
But wait!
“Stop! Everybody stop”
The chosen all stopped as Lily’s voice rang out through the clearing. She noticed something from these monsters when she stopped that one. They were blind.
“Everybody stop! These monsters can’t see”
The chosen all breathed heavily, but nobody moved as they all looked around and tried to understand what Lily meant. But then one of the monsters stalked slowly into the clearing and they almost gagged when they say that its two eyes had been gouged out!
Lily was thankful that she made that ice wall behind her before. The wolf that entered the clearing was stopped by the ice wall and couldn’t come close to them.
“They use our movement to track us! We need to stay as still as possible for them to not notice us!”
Lily was still talking as she saw another wolf come out from the bushes right next to her. She tried to stay as still as possible as the monster came up slowly and walked around her once. It stopped at her back and then sniffed along her body. Lily hoped that her theory was correct. If Han made the wolves blind, then they would only focus on their sense of touch to hunt. It was pointless to use smell in the snow since everything was washed away too quickly. If this theory was correct, then the monsters should just leave her, but if it wasn’t, then she would die here!
The chosen in the clearing were all as silent as a graveyard as they waited for what would happen. But they all then sighed in relief as the wolf left Lily’s body and disappeared into the forest again.
Lily felt like falling to her back in joy once she was sure she wouldn’t die! But she couldn’t believe Han would gouge out the eyes of these monsters! What kind of test is this? She didn’t dare move just in case the monsters were still around. She needed to think of something so they can all escape from here.
All of the other chosen were already petrified because they have never seen power like this before, but Lily knew that this was still not Han’s full power. He was taking pity on them. For some reason, this just pissed her off a little more.
“What do we do now? How can we move?”
The chosen were now looking to Lily, and she felt a little cowed by the pressure. They were thinking that since she was the one that came here with Han, she would be the one most likely to be able to get them out of this. Do they think she could even guess what Han was thinking!? She couldn’t even guess if this was all part of a plan or if Han was just going with things how he saw them! Lily groaned and then tried to wrack her brain for any solution to this issue. From what she could hear, the wolves were in a widespread formation and surrounded them from all sides. Was Han controlling the monsters remotely from a far distance? The wolves couldn’t see so it was possible that Han just gave them a mental command and left them to their fate.
But if they just stood there, then they would still get killed! What could she do!? What!? What!? What!?
Lily closed her eyes and tried her hardest to think of something, someone from the side yelled at her again and Lily glared at him to shut the fuck up! She would roll him down this fucking slope and leave him for the wolves to eat!
Wait – Lily suddenly thought of something. She looked around and noticed that they were actually running down a slope!
“I think it might just work! Large balls! Make balls out of anything! Rock, ice, even plants! Just make things that can roll!”
The groups of chosen quickly scrambled to follow her orders! Lily used her ice power to make a few balls of ice and they all put them in the path. Lily bit on her fingernail while hoping that this would work out. If it didn’t then they would all die!
“Once we roll these down east then run in the other direction! The wolves can’t see so let’s hope that they follow the balls!”
“But won’t some of them still follow us!?”
Lily glared at the woman that spoke and she shouted at her too!
“Would you prefer if all of them follow us or if only a few follow us!?”
The woman shut up immediately and Lily commanded them to roll the balls quickly! Once the balls started rolling everybody ran like crazy! The people were running on a tangent in the opposite direction that the balls were rolling, and Lily felt pride fill her when she heard the wolves howling from the other direction! The plan was working! Her plan worked!
“Argh!!!”
Shit! Somebody just got taken! Most of the wolves were following the balls but some of them followed the runners! They couldn’t stop now! The wolves still had Han’s order in mind and if Lily knew anything about Han, it was that he never did anything by halves. Han must’ve told them to kill anyone they got their paws on, including her!
But why? Han wouldn’t just do something this cruel for no reason! There is a reason and Lily is going to get it out of Han after she beats the hell out of this floor! Han loves her and she knows it! She just has to get to him no matter what!
……..
Han watched from his place on top of a high mountain as the chosen ran away from the wolves he sent after them. He was sitting down while petting the neck of a wolf that was lying down beside him. It was good that Lily came up with a way to send most of them away. Han was a little doubtful of their ability to work together, but now he was sure that they could. He removed the eyes of the monsters because he thought it would be too difficult to win against monsters that could see, but maybe he should leave the eyes of the next set of wolves intact? That should make things a little harder.
Han stood up and looked back to see the castle that Yuuma told him about. He heard from her that this place was considered one of the most dangerous areas on this floor because of the abundance of wolves here, so he was glad that his Bloodlust got the wolves to back down as they did. He didn’t want to kill all of them or anything like that.
Han trekked towards the castle with two wolves following behind him and managed to get to it easily. There was a large rusty gate where many wolves patrolled about in front of the castle and they all moved to the side as Han came towards them. He entered the castle and then began to look for what he needed.
[Clairvoyance] has been activated.
[Almighty Overseer] has been activated.
Ten of the wolves suddenly perked up as Han grabbed control of their consciousness with clairvoyance The clairvoyance skill could be used with twenty different animals at once, but Han didn’t want to overload his mind with all the information he would be receiving from his familiars. So he decided that he will make ten of them search through one side of the castle while Han searched through the other parts!
Han walked through the dark castle while looking around with his eyes. His Almighty Overseer could see through most obstacles in the house, but Han wasn’t interested in knowing where he could see through. The place that Yuuma told him to look out for wasn’t made by humans or even mortals. It was a secret path put here by the Celestials a long time ago.
It was just like one of those hidden paths in games that most people would never be able to activate throughout their lives because you need to have a particular set of skills and crazy luck to get through to it. But Han wasn’t depending on luck alone, he was going to use only his eyes and his knowledge!
Since these eyes were only known to see through anything that was created in the mortal plane, that meant that they wouldn’t be able to see through something that wasn’t created here! That means that Han would eventually come across a door or even a passageway that he couldn’t see through no matter how much he tried. This meant that it wasn’t created here, but it was placed here by something higher!
The reason people had never found out about this weapon before was that they were never strong enough on an early floor like this to be able to notice the Celestial’s presence or influence in this castle.. And by the time they became strong enough to notice something like this, they probably already moved to a higher floor and didn’t see the need to come back to the twelfth floor for something they would consider small.
