Chapter 389 Servants for My Kingdom.
Chapter 389 Servants for My Kingdom.
Gregory turned to Leona again after his conversation with Han and told her to continue walking! Leona obeyed easily and she moved again. Leona was a little confused about what Gregory was trying to do here! Leona knows that it was Han that called because she heard Gregory call Han’s name but Leona wondered why Gregory didn’t tell Han about her betrayal! Leona knows that she would receive a lot of punishment if Han never finds out what they did! In fact, all of the members of her guild would receive a lot of punishment and it would be impossible to gain Han’s trust again! So won’t it be easier to just tell Han about this and allow him to give us punishment?
Leona asked Gregory this question but Gregory just pushed her forward again while ignoring her question! He didn’t have to explain himself to her! Gregory would eventually tell Han all about what happened here and how the guilds down here were going against the contract of submission but for now, Gregory wanted to solve this case alone. It’s not like any of the guild members were running away! There isn’t anywhere to hide in this temple where Gregory can’t find them with his nightwalker skills.
Gregory and Leona finally reached the place where Rau was standing with the other guild members and the guild members grew angry when they saw Leona’s torn shirt. The place that Gregory tore to see her new star was exposed and the guild members wondered if Gregory tried to force himself on Leona. Gregory didn’t even bother to acknowledge their anger and he told Rau that they were going to the thirtieth floor as soon as possible! There was going to be some stupid ritual for people to gain more stars and they were going to stop it!
All the gold stars that were standing around started to shout in anger once they heard what Gteofue said! He wanted to stop the ritual!? Why!? There wasn’t any reason for him to try stopping the ritual! It’s not like the messiah was harming anyone! He was helping people to gain more power!
[Bloodlust] has been activated!
Doon!
Gregory glared at all of them in anger as he activated his bloodlust and all the gold stars stumbled as the entire floor shook! None of them expected to feel the sudden pressure that hit them and most of them couldn’t even stay on their feet as they fell to their behind! What sort of power was that!? There is no way that is the power of a gold star!? The guild members were all gold stars so they knew how strong a gold star was supposed to be, but there was no way that Gregory was a gold star!
Gregory was using the ring artifact that he wore on his finger to mask his power and make himself seem like a gold star, but there was no way that Gregory would be able to reduce the power of his active skills! Gregory has been training with Esteroth and his power was now at the highest level of the black stars! He was basically as strong as Ratte and he had enough power to shake this entire floor with only a single skill!
“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll shut up and take me to the fucking ritual site. You people don’t know what you’re playing with, do you? Do you think this is a joke where everything will be fine in the end so long as you get more power? The Celestials don’t give a fuck about any of you! They’ll happily gut each and every one of you and watch your corpses bleed and decay without batting an eye! They see you as the ants under their feet that they only need to step on to end it’s life! Why would people like that give you any damn power without receiving anything in return!? Think, you idiots! They’re using you!”
Gregory was seething in annoyance once he finished his rant! He just couldn’t believe how foolish these people were! He just couldn’t hold himself back anymore! After everything that Han has been doing for these fools, they were acting like Han abandoned them and now they’re just selling themselves to any fucker that comes around with a means of gaining more power! It was annoying beyond belief!
The gold stars didn’t even think about refusing him this time! They only tried to refuse before because they thought that they could handle him with their powers combined! The extra star and the boost in strength were giving them the confidence that they could handle anything that comes their way. But now that they have felt just how strong Gregory was they didn’t even dream of attacking him! They don’t have any chance of winning against someone like that!
Gregory and Rau followed Leona and the other gold stars from the Rivera guild as they made their way down to floor thirty. They passed a lot of other chosen who were busy handling the monsters on each floor and the chosen all greeted Leona and the other Rivera guild members! Leona was pretty popular on the lower floors because of her position as the vice guild leader of the Rivera guild. When Leona came here she was the only one that had a gold star before she even passed the first floor and that made her very popular with the other chosen.
Leona always thought that she would eventually become strong enough to get a white star as well. Everyone on the lower floors didn’t know what a white star was before Han came to the temple and they all thought that a white star meant that you were too weak to even have a star at all! But once Leona learned about what a white star really was, she started to train even harder to get one! She wanted to become strong enough to have a white star as soon as possible!
The people on Leona’s planet respected power more than anything else and Leona used to be at the very top of her planet when she was still back at home, so she wanted to become the best here as well! But no matter what she did, she couldn’t get a white star! It seemed like an impossible task for her! No matter how hard she tried or how many monsters she defeated! Her star never changed!
This was the reason why Leona willingly agreed to get the extra star when the messiah came around. She just wanted enough power to not be beaten by anyone else!
But how in the world am I supposed to beat a power like this one?
Leona was looking towards Gregory when she thought this. Her body still remembers the intense pressure that fell on her when Gregory released his bloodlust and she couldn’t even think about matching a power like that! Gregory came to the temple a long time after Leona, but he was already so strong that she couldn’t even measure his power anymore! If Gregory was this strong… Then how strong is Han? Is Han even a mortal anymore?
“How much further before we get there?”
Gregory asked this question while looking around curiously and Leona snapped out of her thoughts and looked towards him again. She turned to the front to look at how far away they were and she told him that they would only take a few more minutes to get there.
The sun had already come down in the sky but Gregory and everyone else could still see perfectly even though it had become quite dark. Gregory turned to the front and just continued walking. After some time, he saw a dim light shining in the distance of floor thirty. Leona pointed to it and spoke in a resigned tone.
She already gave up on fighting Gregory a long time ago so there was no point trying to be rebellious.
“There it is. That’s where I got my extra star,”
The gathering was in a secluded spot behind a large rock formation. Without being told where it was, Gregory would have had a very hard time finding it. There were a lot of people standing in front of the dim light that was up on the stage. The stage was just a small elevation made out of some slabs that allowed someone to stand over the crowd.
But the thing that shocked Gregory the most was the literal throne on top of the stage! A man was sitting on a throne and reclining back with a look of boredom as he looked down at the crowd! He allowed his eyes to roam over all the people over him and he rolled his eyes in contempt before he waved a finger for someone else to come to the stage.
……
This man was the person that everyone called a messiah and he looked and acted nothing like a messiah. The reason why they started calling him a messiah was because of the large white pair of wings on his back that made him look like an angel! His name was Raphael and he was the leader of the Angels in the celestial plane.
Now, why would a celestial bother coming down to the temple to give chosen powers?
Raphael wasn’t someone that did things without a reason. For the last few hundred years, Raphael has made a habit of going to worlds and making them dependent on him to a high degree. He enjoyed watching people grovel at his feet and he liked having an unending supply of soldiers to fight for him in any situation. Raphael was the one that sent all those monsters and people after Han on the upper floors. He sent more than half a million people after Han on those top floors and Han killed every single one of them! Raphael knew that Han was strong, but Raphael didn’t know that Han was so strong that he would be able to stop all of the monsters and people he sent after him!
Raphael was able to gain the servitude of those people by using force and dependency. He made them fear him and he gave them something that they couldn’t live without. This ensured that they would do whatever he asked them to do either out of fear or desperation.
But now that Han killed a lot of them, there weren’t many servants left for Raphael to use. Raphael thought about what he could be doing wrong and he finally realized that he was going about it all wrong. Raphael was trying to use non-chosen to fight against a chosen. Han could grow and learn constantly and his system would enable him to adapt to any situation faster than anyone else but the people that Raphael sent after Han couldn’t do those things. None of them could grow like the chosen and even if they could adapt, they couldn’t adapt as quickly as Han.
Raphael needed new servants! People that could also grow and learn. People that would only get stronger the longer they fight! And who better for the job of such a thing than the chosen themselves! There weren’t any specimens as versatile as the chosen ones! The chosen that were made using the binaries were probably some of the most adaptable species of people!
Now that Raphael had an idea of what he needed to do to make his plan work, he needed to find a way to actually carry out his plan.
Even though it would be easy to go down to the temple, there was still a restriction on the celestials by the creator. The creator told all the Celestials not to go anywhere close to the temple until Han finishes the upper floors and they all had no choice but to obey him. But Raphael needed to carry out his plan as soon as possible. He wanted to have a good army before Han reaches the celestial plane!
So Raphael decided that instead of going to the floors above floor fifty to find chosen that he would enslave, he would go lower. To the floors below floor fifty. The lower floors in the temple were considered a second-class area where only the trashy chosen stayed. To the celestials, the lower floors were like the slums of the temple. None of the celestial even bothered looking at what was happening down here because they knew that the chosen down here were too weak to make any changes to the temple. The only time that they really looked at what was happening here was when Han arrived with his white star and started to shake the temple at its foundations!
But ever since Han left to go back to the upper floor, there wasn’t even a single celestial that was interested in the lower floors anymore! This would be the perfect place for Raphael to start finding servants.
