Chapter 321: Steelix
Chapter 321: Steelix
Steelix was a strong Pokemon with massive defense. Being a Steel type, it also had many resistances. While fighting it, Beedrill was struggling due to most of its attacks being physical type.
This Pokemon appeared incredibly formidable for a Pseudo-king rank Pokemon. Axel examined its stats:

---
Axel didn't know what to make of this. The Pokemon seemed solely focused on defense. Axel was surprised to see that it possessed two new moves, one of which was even a passive move. It was rare for a wild Pokemon to showcase such talent. Inventing new moves was a challenging feat, and not everyone had Axel's system.
After fighting for ten minutes, Beedrill had only managed to decrease Steelix's HP by 500. Beedrill possessed extremely high attack power, but Steelix boasted exceptional defense.
Axel had made up his mind. He intended to catch this Pokemon and possibly add it to his team, despite its brown potential.
Nidorino, Shedinja, Charizard, and Beedrill continued their battle against Steelix. Nidorino initiated with 'Sludge Wave', a clever move that affected other Pokemon as well.
Steelix emitted a light brown glow, and everyone nearby experienced the same phenomenon. The wave hit everyone, causing minor damage, but none of them were poisoned. This was due to 'Wide Guard', a move that protected the user and its allies, but could only be used once in a battle.
Steelix had already used 'Rock Polish' and 'Iron Defense' multiple times during its battle with Beedrill, leaving it in peak condition.
"Nidorino, use 'Sludge Wave' again," commanded Axel.
Axel knew it could only be used once, and he was correct. The wave poisoned all the Pokemon around Steelix. Nidorino's poison had become highly concentrated.
However, Steelix remained unaffected by poisoning.
"Could this be due to its passive move, 'Resistance'?" Axel mumbled.
Although Axel could see the move descriptions of his own Pokemon, he couldn't view the move descriptions of other Pokemon.
If Nidorino couldn't poison Steelix, it wouldn't be able to utilize 'Poison Spread' and 'Poison Damage Transfer', moves Nidorino relied on.
Suddenly, Steelix roared, causing the ground beneath Nidorino to transform into sand. The sand began to pull Nidorino down, trapping it in a sand tomb. Steelix had trained this move exceptionally well, rendering Nidorino unable to escape, no matter how hard it tried.
Shedinja stealthily approached Steelix from behind and unleashed a level 45 'Shadow Ball' attack. However, Steelix effortlessly endured the hit without showing any signs of pain. Axel then realized that Steelix also possessed high Special Defense.
This was proving to be a challenging battle.
Thinking that Shedinja was becoming a hindrance, Steelix retaliated with 'Iron Tail', striking Shedinja in the face. The move didn't damage Shedinja as it was immune to such attacks, but the force sent it flying, crashing into a nearby tree.
"Venusaur, use 'Vine Whip' to pull Nidorino out," Axel commanded.
He couldn't allow Nidorino to be swallowed by the ground, even though Venusaur was currently healing other Pokemon. Venusaur promptly obeyed and successfully freed Nidorino.
Meanwhile, Charizard employed 'Sunny Day' to intensify its level 40 'Flamethrower' against Steelix. With so many Pokemon to handle, Steelix couldn't register the attack in its mind.
The firepower of 'Flamethrower' had increased, with a mixture of whiteness visible within the dark red flames. ROARRRR. The fire attack appeared to have an effect on Steelix, causing it to roar in pain. Fire-type attacks were super effective against it.
Charizard utilized 'Solar Power', 'Belly Drum', 'Dragon Dance', and unleashed 'Blaze'. Its power had received a substantial boost. Charizard then combined 'Wing Attack' and 'Flame Wings', charging towards Steelix. Despite Steelix's power, it was incredibly slow. The attack struck its body, causing some pain, although it quickly suppressed the sensation.
Right after executing the attack, Steelix flinched momentarily. It had deployed 'Stealth Rock' around itself, causing a minor wound on Charizard. It wasn't a significant issue, but Charizard flinched for a moment.
Steelix retaliated with 'Stone Edge'. Sharp stones emerged from the ground, with one piercing Charizard's stomach. While Charizard managed to dodge most of the stones and lessen the impact through flight, it still sustained injury.
Rock-type attacks were super effective against Charizard. Steelix had utilized its full power to strike Charizard, whose HP was already low due to 'Belly Drum' and 'Solar Power'. The attack injured Charizard.
To aid Charizard, Venusaur employed 'Leech Whip' to heal its wounds. However, Charizard had already finished using 'Roost', which had affected it. That was the drawback of 'Roost'; while it restored the HP of a Flying-type Pokemon, prolonged usage weakened the user, rendering it unable to fight for some time. Charizard would be out of battle for a while, but there were other Pokemon to take its place.
Beedrill had attempted to attack Steelix, but most of its attacks were physical type and had little effect. Axel decided to alter his strategy.
"Beedrill, assist Mamoswine."
Mamoswine was engaged in battle with a Magmar. While Fire-type attacks were super effective against it, they also affected Beedrill. Nevertheless, this change was better than nothing.
