Chapter 339: Gym battle: Magneton 1

Magneton was thrown back by the attack and crashed onto the ground. Since it would take a few seconds for Magneton to rise up, Axel said, "Gogoat, use 'Milk Drink,' 'Growth,' and 'Sunny Day.'"

Magneton was heavily hit by the attack and slowly rose from the ground. Meanwhile, Gogoat was able to use 'Milk Drink' again and heal itself.

As of now, Gogoat could only use 'Milk Drink' twice. However, Magneton could use 'Magnet Healing' an unlimited number of times, but there was a condition. It needed to gather the magnetic properties from 'Electromagnetic Terrain' and 'Magnet Rise.' Both 'Electromagnetic Terrain' and 'Magnet Rise' had already been disabled, and it had used them again. It would take some time to gather these magnetic properties, but time was what it sorely lacked at the moment.

It seemed like Gogoat was going to win this battle.

"Gogoat, use 'Horn Leech'," said Axel.

Gogoat started to run toward Magneton with the help of 'Grassy Glide.' Since Magneton was slowly rising from the ground, it would have no idea of Gogoat's charge, and it would be hit.

"Use 'Eerie Impulse,'" Morgan commanded.

Magneton's body suddenly generated a strange electrical wave, which hit Gogoat. Gogoat, being disbalanced from using 'Grassy Glide,' was now off-balance.

'Eerie Impulse' would lower the target's special attack. That was not what Morgan intended. He simply wanted to stop Gogoat's charge.

"'Electromagnetic Wave,' NOW!" shouted Morgan.

Magneton used the move, and another strange electrical wave emanated from its body. Gogoat tried to move again, but it couldn't.

It was finally paralyzed. Being paralyzed doesn't mean that the Pokémon cannot move, but it becomes very difficult for them to move properly. Gogoat was experiencing the same struggle. This was truly disastrous at this time.

It then used a unique move, 'Lock-On.' This move successfully hit, ensuring that Magneton's next move would hit it for sure.

Gogoat swiftly moved in another direction as fast as it could. Gogoat was finally moving again, but it still faced many challenges. Its movements were not as fluid as before.

"Magneton, now use 'Zap Cannon' with full power," Morgan commanded.

Magneton started to spin, and three beams of electric current combined to shoot at Gogoat. Due to the spinning motion, the power of the beam was intensified. Gogoat used 'Field Control' and 'Frenzy Plant' to block the attack, but the power of the attack was too much for it to handle.

The defenses were obliterated, and Gogoat was hit by the attack. The impact was powerful, causing Gogoat to be thrown a considerable distance before crashing onto the ground.

The crowd fell silent. This might be the end of Gogoat's run. However, Gogoat surprised everyone by slowly standing up.

ROARRR...

It let out a low roar, signifying that it had not been defeated. If it hadn't used 'Milk Drink' twice, it wouldn't have been able to stand up.

Axel had repeatedly told Gogoat that it wasn't ready to fight against Hypno. It didn't want Axel to be right. It had realized its own weakness.

It used an interesting move, 'Earthquake.' It was interesting because it was useless against Magneton. Magneton was floating in the air, so 'Earthquake' would have no effect.

This was the most powerful 'Earthquake' Gogoat had ever used. The ground started to separate, and Gogoat started to rise in the air. The branches on the ground extended and bound together large chunks of rock, hurling them toward Magneton.

Since there were many large rocks and branches attacking with these rocks, Magneton couldn't dodge them all. Some of them hit it hard.

Suddenly, the branches started to move again from the ground, while the thicker branches held the rocks and attacked. These branches molded themselves into a replica of Gogoat's face, with its mouth wide open. A yellow-colored glow started to form within that wooden mouth.

The glow grew brighter, and after charging the attack, it threw that yellow-colored glow in the shape of a beam. The beam traveled at breakneck speed toward Magneton.

Magneton was slow to react as it was busy dodging the rocks, but when it saw the attack, it used 'Electromagnetic Construct' and 'Gravity Manipulation' to form daggers and threw them toward the beam while dodging it. It was hit by the chunks of rock but managed to dodge the beam.

That beam was 'Solar Beam.'

---

Ding!

Gogoat's Field Control has leveled up to 40.

---

After ranking up, Gogoat had mainly focused on this new move and finally reached level 40. All these recent events were made possible due to 'Field Control.'

Suddenly, the attack stopped. Gogoat was struggling to stand, but it knew that it was starting to lose consciousness. The upgraded 'Field Control' had almost depleted its remaining stamina.

"Come back, Gogoat. You've done a perfect job," said Axel, pulling Gogoat out. It hadn't fainted, but it was in no condition to continue fighting. Axel wanted it to rest.

This was Gogoat's first gym battle, and even though it had lost, it had performed admirably.

"The challenger Axel has withdrawn his Pokémon from the battle. He is requested to send out another Pokémon," said Ronny.

"What the hell was that? That was the most overpowered move I've ever seen in my life..." Seliska started to comment on the battle.

"So, Axel, what will be your next Pokémon? I didn't expect that you would deal so much damage to my Magneton. I must commend you for your battle strategies," said Morgan.

"The next Pokémon will put an end to your Magneton. Let's do it, Nidorino!"

Finally, his starter Pokémon was going to battle.
