Chapter 626: Enhanced Stamina

Chapter 626: Enhanced Stamina

Chapter 626: Enhanced Stamina

Axel looked at those 9 things that he should master to master 'Enhanced Willpower'. They were:

1. Accelerated development

2. Control opposition

3. Enhanced Survivability

4. Indomitable courage

5. Pain suppression

6. Power Resistance

7. Psychic Shield

8. Strength Calling

9. Determined strength

Axel looked at the description of all of them and none of them were easy to accomplish. He knew that the system would send a notification when he mastered one of them but all of them were inhuman.

Among all these 9 points, 'Pain suppression' seemed doable to do right now. It was not that that 'Pain suppression' was easy but this was one of the few that could be accomplished through training.

'Pain suppression' meant that the user was highly resistant to physical pain of any kind, allowing them to think clearly and continue to move without even flinching despite horrific and grievous injuries. Users can continue to move, ignore torture, and generally function in situations where the pain would disable a normal person. The user does not react at all when damaged, they can walk onward as they are being damaged or continue fighting without stopping no matter how hard they are hit.

The user had to train at such a level that their brain would release massive amounts of endorphins that would suppress the pain. Axel would have to achieve multiple things to have 'Pain suppression'

Daze immunity: The user in no circumstances should be dazed or groggy, weakened or affected by blows and other things that would daze him and make him unable to fight. Flinch immunity: The user should not flinch Somatic pain immunity: The user should be able to move easily when he was in an uncomfortable position. Like, if his finger is on a pin, the user's movement should not compromise.

All of them basically said that the user's body functions should not be affected by pain. If Axel wanted to train on this, then he should hurt himself on a regular basis and very cruelly too. The tablet also said that this was basically impossible to do for a normal human as the human would first die before he/she could master 'Pain suppression', not unless he/she mastered 'Enhanced survivability' first.

All of these things were going round in round and Axel was starting to hate. He had started to learn a lot of things about aura. He never imagined that aura could do such things.

'Enhanced survivability' also had a lot of things to master to finally master it.

1. Enhanced health

2. Enhanced stamina

3. Enhanced recovery

4. Sleep suppression

5. Enhanced endurance.

He first went to 'Enhanced stamina' and finally he found something doable right now. 'Enhanced stamina' also had many things to do before mastering it.

First of all, Axel should be able to run at full speed for 4 hours and should be able to recover after 10 minutes of rest. Axel could jog for hours but he could not run at full speed for 4 hours. There were a lot of yoga poses and breathing exercises that he could do to achieve it.

The tablet also went on to say how to use aura to enhance stamina during his run. Running at full speed with aura and without aura was different. He may be able to achieve without aura but he was recommended to do it with manipulating aura so that it would be beneficial for him in the future. This was a sort of training on aura itself and Axel started to copy the breathing exercises.

The breathing exercise looked simple but it was very hard to perfectly replicate it. Axel had to manage the timing of it. It took him a full day to perfectly replicate the breathing exercise and when he started to run, he found out that he felt much easier to run for a long period of time. He felt as if his stamina had massively increased somehow and he was stupefied.

"What the fuck is going on?", he shouted to himself.

Stamina was not something that could be enhanced within a day. It would take months and even years to increase stamina to a good level and he did in a day.

He was extremely pleased about it and thought to just rest for the day.

###

Next day,

Axel woke up at 4:30 am today, a bit faster than his normal routine. He was excited about his training. He had increased his stamina to a good level by doing the breathing exercise and now he wanted to manipulate aura to improve his stamina.

Aura was a mysterious thing as it looked very simple but it could do so many things. It was a variation of infinity energy. Axel had to minutely control a wisp of his aura and then send it to his lungs to boost it. It could not be a huge amount as it might affect his lungs.

The tablet said to meditate for a few hours until the user felt that they could control it. There were some danger signs that the tablet mentioned and if Axel felt it then he should stop it and try to do it again. He tried this for 2 days but there was no result.

Meanwhile, his breathing exercise had gotten a lot better and those yoga poses were also helping him recover his stamina a lot faster than before.

###

It had been 7 more days and finally, Axel could control the aura to boost his lungs. However, he could only do that in a sitting position and he had to do it while running. So, that would take a lot of time. However, this was an initial success and Axel was happy about it.

He wanted to know how others were fairing in their training too. So, he first called Lance to find out.

"I am not doing well. I mean, I am certainly better and stronger than before but it is taking so much time to even achieve a single thing.", said Lance.

"Yeah, same here."

"Which way of aura did you choose to train in?", asked Lance.

"The second way. The way of emotions. Why did you choose the first one?", asked Axel.

"Isn't it a basic thing to do it? Even though I can now use 'Aura coat' right now, there are a lot of things in the tablet that are completely new. Father also said that he had never ever heard of most of these things. He is also training in the first way.

The better question is, why did you choose the second way?", asked Lance.

Axel was now feeling very stupid. Since, he knew some moves like 'Aura coat', and 'Aura strike', he felt that he had learned enough. But after hearing from Lance, he felt that he should have also started with the first way and had made a strong foundation before going to the second way.

However, now Axel didn't want to revert back to the first way. He had already started the second way and for some reason, Axel felt that the second way was the one that trained him in basic. Training to master 'Enhanced stamina' looked basic to him. So, he felt that he should continue with the second one.

"I have no idea. I think I am stupid. So, is there no one who is training on the second way? I have not talked to any of them after coming here."

"You are in luck. It turns out that Kate is also training in a second way. You guys could bond over it."

"Really? Why would she choose it?"

"The hell would I know? She is weird, so I don't talk much to her.", replied Lance.

After talking with Lance for a couple more minutes, Axel hung off the phone and then called Kate instead.

Tring.. Tring.. Tring.. Tring..

"Hello.", said Kate.

"So, you are also training in the second way of aura from the tablet?", asked Axel.

"Oh, Hello Kate. How are doing this fine morning? Did you have your breakfast?", asked Kate mimicking Axel.

"Kate, why are you talking to yourself?", asked Axel in a confused voice.

"Axel, do you understand the concept of sarcasm?"

Suddenly a light bulb went on his head and he understood that he was trying to date this girl and he should be polite and talk about nonessential things with her first.

"Oh, so did you have your breakfast?", asked Axel in a polite voice.

Axel could hear a soft chuckle from Kate's side and she said, "Yes, I did. I take breakfast very seriously."

This went on for 30 more minutes and it was not that Axel hated talking with Kate about how was her day. Or what her sister did or how she was going to solve her friend's crisis but Axel always did everything with a deadline set in his mind.

He was the most powerful trainer in his group due to his discipline and he always cared about what he was doing for his career. So, from the outside, he was talking with a happy voice but from the inside, he wanted to rip her mouth off and then sew it back in so that she would just shut the hell up for a second. He never imagined that Kate could talk for so long.

He did love her voice and the way she talked but his patience was waning in, so he took a shot.

"So, what about the second way of aura? Why did you choose it? Most of our friends chose the first way but you did the opposite."

"You also chose it. Why did you do it?"

"I asked you first."

"Oh, that is right. I didn't have any secret reason to choose. I have been told by my parents that I don't handle emotions very well. I get too emotional and then make bad decisions.

So, I thought to choose the second way to counter that problem. I must say, the result is really bad."

"How so?"

"You are talking as if you have not seen it. It is extremely hard to master the second way. My father was also surprised by the way emotions could be so profound. I am stuck on it. How is your progress?"

"Well, I thought to master 'Tranquil state' but it is very slow and I don't think that I could master it too. The requirements are inhuman. However, I do believe that I could master half of it."

"Oh, so you went the 'Tranquil state' too?"

"Yes, I did. How is your progress?"

"I don't think that I could master 'Indomitable will' but I want to believe that I could master 'Enhanced willpower' with enough practice. I have not read anything about 'Emotion negation'."

"You are doing the same thing as me."

They talked for some time. Kate also shared her curiosity and both of them decided to have a competition. The person who will master the 'Enhanced willpower' before the other would win. It was just a simple bet.

After talking with Kate, Axel realized that it was doable. It would just take a lot of time. After talking with Kate, it was already afternoon. That was when he hung off the phone.

It was now time to talk to Bourne too. Bourne had been concentrating on his research. Even though he had not discovered anything substantial, he was happy with the result.

"When will we be going to our first expedition?", asked Bourne.

They had to go somewhere for more evidence now.

"Don't worry, we will go there. First, we need to hire an expedition team and I know where to do it. However, I am busy for a couple of months. We will go there after a couple of months.", replied Axel.

"Ok, I am not the one who has to worry about the time. When will you go from here?", asked Bourne.

"After 3 days."

"So, you have prepared for the 'Rising Star tournament'?"

"Yes, I am fully prepared."
