Chapter 139: Sage: Mismagius Appears
The conspicuous string of red beads hanging around Misdreavus’s neck began to shimmer. Terrance immediately looked over in surprise. These red beads were the place where Misdreavus stored energy, and the accumulated energy had already been depleted. The renewed flickering signaled…
“Absorbing energy from outside, huh?”
Terrance breathed a sigh of relief. While Dusk Stone’s energy was intruding, Little Misdreavus could resist the energy riot and still focus on sensing external energy. It has taken a big step towards success.
What are the benefits of extreme evolution?
It lies in “energy control.” When the body’s energy is scarce, it must withstand tremendous pressure in extreme conditions and face the intrusion of external energy. Whether it can successfully resist the foreign energy by its own will is the key to evolution.
This is a type of evolution that tests Pokémon. Pokémon that lack talent or willpower will be tested.
“In terms of controlling energy, you won’t lose.” Terrance said to Little Misdreavus.
This is also the reason why he dared to let Little Misdreavus attempt extreme evolution. Let alone the “Shadow Ball” that he had it practice shooting in succession, even the illusion skills are a good indicator of a Pokémon’s ability to control energy.
Simulating various illusions and making subtle changes in the details of illusions are manifestations of a Pokémon’s control of energy at the “details” level.
If dispersing energy to form Shadow Balls with different destructive force is macroscopic energy control, then controlling different illusions is microscopic energy control.
In macroscopic energy control, Little Misdreavus was not as proficient as in microscopic energy control. So, this was an opportunity for it to “deduce many things from one case.” If it could comprehend macroscopic energy control based on the success in microscopic energy control, then evolution, from two perspectives, was almost certain.
Little Misdreavus’s extreme evolution was relatively challenging because other Pokémon only needed to control natural energy, and combine it with their own sublimation, to complete evolution directly. However, Little Misdreavus needs to fuse both Dusk Stone and Lavender Town’s energy, balancing it outside and inside, which was a test of energy control.
Terrance was worried for Little Misdreavus, but he quietly stayed by its side. He had clearly told Little Misdreavus that there would be no consequences even if it failed and that there would be many opportunities for evolution in future, so as not to put any pressure on it.
He sincerely hopes that Little Misdreavus can achieve outstanding results. As a Trainer, there is nothing more joyful than witnessing one’s Pokémon grow stronger.
At this point, a preliminary trust had already been established. Terrance looked at Little Misdreavus who was struggling at the critical point of evolution, unsure of what to feel.
At this point, there is already a preliminary level of trust. Terrance watched as Little Misdreavus struggled at the critical point of evolution, unsure about what to do.
Little Misdreavus was surely putting in a lot of effort to manipulate the two energies and change itself. Terrance was unable to help, so all he could do was pray silently and verbally cheer Little Misdreavus on!
Little Misdreavus’s consciousness was entirely focused on controlling these two energies. It also knew that becoming their master meant it was time for its evolution.
A challenging tug-of-war unfolded among the three entities, and the battlefield was gradually shifting towards Little Misdreavus’s red bead string. A back-and-forth struggle ensued, with neither side giving in. Under the onslaught of energy, Little Misdreavus’ will was almost immobilized, struggling to gain control of the energy.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
In the almost invisible microscopic world, groups of energy fiercely clashed with each other, and Little Misdreavus’s consciousness struggled within, becoming increasingly tiny.
This was already a prelude to evolution failure. The energy was out of control, unable to progress life’s sublimation for evolution completion. Little Misdreavus’s expression was pained, yet it didn’t give up and continued to resist.
However, as time passed, Little Misdreavus found that within the “fear emotions,” another kind of energy seemed to be mixed in. Surprisingly, it made its consciousness clear, which boosted its mental strength manifold.
Inside the red bead string, the free-floating “fear energy” and “Dusk Stone energy” continuously intertwined. As an interferer, Little Misdreavus found it challenging to guide the two energies. But when another mysterious energy entered, it discovered that the two energies had actually become peaceful.
Of course, Terrance, the Trainer, couldn’t see everything happening inside Little Misdreavus’ red bead string. Misdreavus was attempting to control them on its own, but it sensed stubborn resistance from the energy in its body. Frustrated, Little Misdreavus cried out, concentrating even more, continuously deducing and changing its understanding of energy control, and then applying it to these energies.
Zzz~ Zzz~ Zzz~
Under the pressure of external forces and the desire for evolution, Little Misdreavus’s comprehension of “energy control” continued to increase rapidly like a rocket, resembling a kind of “enlightened” state. Moreover, due to Little Misdreavus’ inherent sensitivity to energy, the two energies greatly stabilized. As it gradually connected the microscopic and macroscopic, Little Misdreavus heard a rumble in its ears…
The commotion inside the beads finally calmed down.
The later energy began to disperse around the bead string, and Little Misdreavus began to trace it. However, the energy dissipated quickly. In the end, it could only sense the laughter of different people.
Hum~~~
In Terrance’s sight, the light of evolution on Little Misdreavus’ body was no longer as unstable. It was getting closer and closer to covering its entire body; it began to spread in all directions, making it difficult for him to see its face.
“It worked.” Seeing this scene, Terrance clenched his fists, and burst into laughter. The most concentrated area of the white light was still the red bead string of Little Misdreavus. This was the crucial place where Misdreavus and Mismagius stored energy, determining the growth of their species.
The light of evolution became even more intense, and Little Misdreavus’ body gradually underwent changes. The most noticeable change was the bead string on its chest, which had transformed from a red circular bead chain around its neck into three diamond-shaped red gems. The pendant-like bead string disappeared entirely, replaced by these red gems, seemingly embedded in Mismagius’s body.
Furthermore, Little Misdreavus’s body had grown entirely purple, with a somewhat eerie appearance. The wavy hair, similar to Medusa’s, transformed into a hat resembling that of a wizard, with four protrusions at the back. Its appearance had changed from Little Misdreavus’ mischievous look to…
In Terrance’s eyes, Mismagius’ temperament and appearance were more like that of a composed wizard.
“Mismagiussss~~~”
When Little Misdreavus finished its evolution, Mismagius’ mischievous personality changed. Floating quietly in front of Terence, it gave him a sense of reliability.
“Congratulations, now you should be called… Mismagius.”
Terrance rubbed his nose and suddenly sneezed. Being busy all night, coupled with the eerie night chill, he suddenly felt the danger of catching a cold.
