Chapter 243: Controlling the Legends

“Mismagius, use Thunder Wave.”

Terrance’s voice rang out, and Mismagius responded. A small red gem on its body glowed faintly, and its ribbon-like, ghostly purple body shook, releasing streams of golden electrical arcs.

“Contestant Terrance has commanded Mismagius to use Thunder Wave. What will he do next?!”

“Look, everyone! Thunder Wave hasn’t left Mismagius’ control. The electric arcs seem to be held in place by Mismagius…”

Vivian puckered her lips, guessing, “Could he be planning to use Thunder Wave to perform a show?”

“And now… Will-O-Wisp!”

Just as everyone’s attention was fixed on the fluctuating Thunder Wave, Terrance issued another command. Simultaneously, another small red gem on Mismagius’ body began to glow, and the mysterious Will-O-Wisp followed the path of the Thunder Wave, also under control.

“Uhh…”

Raoul Contesta was slightly taken aback, saying, “Is it multitasking?”

“Mismagius can split its focus to control the Will-O-Wisp as well? Using two different moves simultaneously without them interfering with each other should require a lot of control, right?”

Most people were puzzled, eager to see what Terrance would do next.

Mismagius’ manipulation of Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp was incredibly skillful, showcasing extraordinary energy control. The moves seemed less like attacks and more like tools it could wield effortlessly, displaying an impressive level of dexterity.

“Amazing…” Watching Mismagius effortlessly maneuver Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp, Raoul Contesta couldn’t help but exclaim.

Nurse Joy was also extremely surprised, knowing the value of having such a meticulous energy control skill.

But this wasn’t unusual. Creating illusions in an illusionary space requires extreme attention to its stability, which primarily tests a Pokémon’s energy control. If there is any error in the energy flow or if the opponent disrupts it, the illusionary space will collapse.

Therefore, Mismagius has a natural talent for energy control. Coupled with years of training, and having successfully mastered the violent energy of the Dusk Stone during its “extreme evolution” when its own energy was depleted and it was under immense external pressure. All of this has allowed Mismagius’ mastery of energy control at both the macro and micro levels to reach a very high level!

It’s no wonder that Mismagius could manipulate Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp so skillfully now.

“What exactly is he trying to do?” The three judges were immensely curious. No matter how many tricks Mismagius could perform with Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp, it didn’t seem relevant to the primary judging’s criteria.

Although this masterful energy control was beautiful, it was a high-level technique every Pokémon needed to master, not unique to Mismagius.

Given Terrance’s past performances… he shouldn’t be making such an obvious mistake.

They continued to watch, and slowly, on both sides of Mismagius, the electric arcs of Thunder Wave gradually outlined a strange shape, leaping continuously in the air.

And the figure formed by Will-O-Wisp started to leap in sync with the Thunder Wave’ electric arcs…

This is…

The slow-paced performance, starting from ordinary tricks, formed into such a pattern that attracted more and more people’s attention. Just as everyone’s eyes were fixed on the two enormous figures created by Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp on the stage, the largest red gem on Mismagius began to glow, and…. eerie sound waves emanated from Mismagius.

At this moment, all the audience and judges’ eyes were focused on the two huge figures in complete silence. So, the sound waves were particularly abrupt, like a deep incantation, echoing in everyone’s ears.

The incantation sounded soothing, with a special rhythm, slowly causing a momentary mental tremor in everyone before they quickly recovered. However… stealthily, the sound seemed to have merged into space, making the audience feel as if they were peering through a huge mirror, witnessing a breathtaking scene.

“Chirp~~~”

“Whoosh~~~~”

Two extremely loud sounds emanated from the stage. The audience stared wide-eyed, rubbing their eyes in disbelief, unable to speak as they struggled to comprehend the changes unfolding on stage.

Mismagius was floating on the stage; the Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp were gone. Instead, two massive bird-like Pokémon hovered beneath it, flapping their enormous wings.

One was a bird Pokémon with obvious yellow feathers, surrounded by black rings around its eyes, and an orange long, sharp beak. Its wings and tail were covered with spiky feathers, with black feathers on the back of its wings and the inner side of its tail. It had a sharp feather crest on its head, yellowish-brown legs without feathers, and toes on its feet, with a short tail.

The other was a bird Pokémon with red feathers, a long, streamlined crest, and a flame-like tail, both composed of fire. Its wings were also covered with flame-like feathers, and it had a straight, sharp beak and nearly brownish skin.

These two Pokémon looked incredibly noble and imposing, yet at this moment, they were tethered to Mismagius by electric arcs of yellow and red electricity and flames, like puppets being manipulated by Mismagius!

“Imp… impossible!!!”

Some who recognized these two Pokémon exclaimed in shock, shaking their heads vigorously.

Zapdos and Moltres, both are Kanto Region’s Legendary Pokémon…and could not possibly be on this stage. However… the scene was so realistic that they couldn’t help but believe it.

“What is this…” May clutched Caroline’s arm, asking curiously.

These two Pokémon had an extraordinary presence, vastly different from ordinary Pokémon, captivating even those who didn’t recognize them.

“Zapdos, Moltres…”

Raoul Contesta shot up from his seat, puzzled and sweating coldly. The appearance of Legendary Pokémon here… was no trivial matter!

While everyone was in shock, the recording staff also fell into a daze because… through the camera and his own eyes… he wasn’t seeing the same scene!

What his eyes were seeing… was fake!!

“This, this…”

Through the camera, the staff saw the enormous figures formed by Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp. As he continuously adjusted the angle, it was clear that they were outlines of Zapdos and Moltres created using the two moves!

But… what was happening to him… the scene before him… and what was happening to everyone else, all left the staff in deep confusion.
