Chapter 305: Huge White Cocoon

Chapter 305: Huge White Cocoon

Chapter 305: Huge White Cocoon

Countless white threads swiftly filled the space around Beautifly in an instant, moving like slender white snakes. Then, the numerous new threads intertwined, transforming the scene in just a few seconds. The entire stage seemed to be covered by the densely packed silk!

“This amount of String Shot…” Nurse Joy resisted the urge to stand up, speaking in disbelief.

It wasn’t just Nurse Joy who was shocked; even Wallace was taken aback. Staring at the stage covered in white silk, he couldn’t comprehend where this transformation had come from.

“Even Ariados can’t produce this amount of String Shot. Just what is going on here…?”

In front of the TV station and the large screen, the ones most familiar with Terrance’s Beautifly were undoubtedly the people from Old Green House. Yet, even they were stunned by the overwhelming amount of silk produced by Beautifly.

Right in front of the audience, on the main stage, countless strands of white silk intertwined to wrap around Beautifly’s body, resembling a massive white cocoon. From a distance, it looked like a Silcoon, but more than ten times the size; a truly magnificent sight.

Surrounding this massive white cocoon, strands of silk extended haphazardly, intertwining with each other. This cocoon, composed entirely of silk, resembled a chaotic, colossal egg, exuding an air of mystery.

The sheer volume of silk was many times larger than Beautifly itself, creating an unprecedented visual shock.

“No ordinary Beautifly could ever produce this much String Shot. Even relying on Quiver Dance to unleash Beautifly’s unknown potential isn’t enough. There must be some unknown technique involved.”

“I suspect it might have something to do with the food. Certain dietary changes can affect a Pokémon’s physical condition within a short period,” Joy said.

“Diet, huh? That sounds plausible. After all, this contestant is a ten-year-old Breeder,” Wallace said as he tapped the table, ignoring both the shocked Joy.

“What is this guy up to…?” In the contestants’ waiting room, the other sixty-three contestants were all focused on him.

The performance round only lasted three minutes, but most contestants finish their performance in less than thirty seconds. Terrance, on the other hand, had already spent almost two minutes without showing signs of wrapping up. This enormous setup caused every contestant to stand up and watch the young competitor.

“Interesting. What is he planning?”

“Just the Quiver Dance combined with that stunning dance of silk threads would have been enough to get him into the top 32, right?”

A purple-haired woman paused what she was doing and looked intently at the screen. “That kid with a score of 96? Looks like getting Top Coordinator in Hoenn again will be tough.”

Gayle, who had just stepped off the stage, scratched his head as he recalled his own performance, suddenly feeling it was a bit lackluster. “Whatever. As long as I advance, that’s all that matters. The real focus is the Battle Stage. This guy is so strange.”

A boy in a sailor uniform stood beneath the screen, muttering to himself, “He’s younger than me, but already such an outstanding Coordinator.”

Although they hadn’t seen Terrance’s complete performance yet, the massive setup suggested that what would come next would be nothing short of astonishing.

For both the judges and the contestants, it was the first time they had seen a contestant put in so much effort in the first round of the main competition.

“Is this even the Beautifly I know…? What on earth have they gone through?” Chisana trembled, then burst into laughter—it was just too exciting.

……

……

“I think this might be the most splendid contest since the Pokémon Contest began, except for the one Lord Wallace won,” one of the Joy said, blushing as she looked at Wallace.

“In past Grand Festivals, it would be impressive to see even one contestant scoring above 95 in the preliminary round,” Raoul Contesta shook his head. “But this time, six did it. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing, but it’s safe to say that this time’s Top Coordinator will be one of the most deserving ever, on par with you Wallace.”

The massive white cocoon lay silently on the stage, with the main venue now plunged into silence, waiting for the next change.

What was about to happen?

“Let’s begin.”

Sensing that the venue’s atmosphere and the stage’s transformation were heading exactly in the direction he had envisioned, Terrance took a step forward, walking toward the cocoon. As soon as he took the first step, several strands of silk began to emit a shimmering green light from the inside out. A few intricate white threads among the tangled mass of silk seemed to act as a trigger, instantly spreading the green light to the outer layer of the enormous cocoon, causing the unprecedentedly large cocoon to radiate with a stunning brilliance!

At that moment, a vibrant green glow appeared before everyone’s eyes, making the enormous cocoon seem full of life and energy. It exuded an unimaginable vitality, like the blossoming of flowers in spring, when countless plants awaken—a scene evoking the feeling of renewal and transformation.

“How unnecessary…” Wallace suddenly remarked.

“Uh? Master Wallace… this…”

“Oh, sorry, what I meant was that even with such an unnecessary approach, he can still showcase such a beautiful scene. It seems that Contestant Terrance has really put a lot of effort for this performance.”

“We all know that Beautifly can use Absorb move directly through its slender mouthpart or through its threads as a conduit… Can you see? On the stage right now, Beautifly is using its silk, along with the Grass-type move Absorb, to form a bridge with sunlight.”

“That vibrant green…that’s how it’s being created.”

With Wallace’s explanation, everyone watched in awe at the transformation of the cocoon on stage. The once pure white cocoon was now radiating an astonishing green glow—a change beyond ordinary people’s understanding.

Countless rays of solar energy were absorbed by the silk threads, yet they could not flow into Beautifly’s body. The repelling mechanism between the two unknowingly created a spectacle of green light spreading through the silk. What seemed like a redundant, useless technique had transformed into a vibrant, lively scene

This was the combo Terrance had devised after his initial failure with the “Giga Drain-Morning Sun” technique, incorporating Solar Beam into the concept, and producing this scene. His efforts on the failed technique had not gone to waste after all.

“Incredible. Has anyone counted how many different move combos and technique concepts Beautifly has shown so far?”

At this moment, in the waiting room, the contestants had already been captivated by the complexity of the performance.
