What should I do?Scarlett held her breath and observed the situation. Try as she might, she could not decide how to judge or act correctly. Is there even a correct answer in the first place?Scarlett clenched and unclenched her hands. They were drenched in sweat inside her gloves. Her shoulders and legs trembled with fear, a feeling Scarlett knew all too well.“Are you just going to stand there and watch?”When Geniella asked, Scarlett swallowed hard. Did she notice? Of course, she would. What should I do? Scarlett chewed on her lower lip.Baek Sogo was writhing on the ground, a hole in her stomach. Geniella laughed and poured elixir into the wound.Frothy bubbles boiled up from the wound that had previously been spurting blood. This was a sight Scarlett had not imagined. And did not want to imagine. She kept thinking it was easier than expected. Liches, death knights, goblins. It wasn’t difficult to deal with them. It was partly because she was well-prepared and partly because the enemy’s advancement wasn’t formidable.Though it took time, annihilating them was not a big issue.

The disruption of communication with Teresa had prepared her for this situation. However, she had not imagined it to be this terrible.Scarlett looked at Lee Sungmin.Spikes pierced his limbs. One of his eyeballs, burst by a red spike, dangled from his left eye socket. Scarlett grasped her trembling shoulders.Would adding me to the situation change anything? That thought crossed her mind. She was confident in her abilities but not arrogant enough to try the impossible.Thinking about it calmly, Scarlett joining the fight would not turn the situation around. The most she could do would be to die with them so they wouldn’t be lonely on their way out.“I don’t mind if you stand there and watch. It could be interesting,” Geniella whispered, moving her hand.Baek Sogo, wrapped in red magic, floated in the air. She was human. Unlike Lee Sungmin or Geniella, she couldn’t regenerate her injuries instantly.Baek Sogo’s face was pale with pain. Although the elixir was regenerating the wound, it was slow.“Let me go…!”Still, Baek Sogo moved. She swung her arms wide, attempting to escape Geniella’s restraint.Geniella laughed.CRACK!The magical force Geniella unleashed broke Baek Sogo’s swinging arms. Baek Sogo clenched her teeth and swallowed her screams.“Stop…!”Lee Sungmin twisted his body and shouted.Crunch, cra-crack!He forcibly removed himself from the magic spikes that had pierced his limbs. His bones broke, his muscles tore, and his limbs were ripped apart.Pain shook his mind, yet he didn’t scream. The mental strain was the issue, not the physical pain. Geniella’s hand clasped Baek Sogo’s throat.Having freed himself from the restraints, Lee Sungmin crawled on the ground like an insect. Standing on the arm that regenerated first, then kicking the ground with the leg that regenerated next, he dashed forward while howling like a beast.“I like that sound,” Geniella laughed lightly with a nod, not looking back as she wielded her crimson magic.Ripping through the oncoming magic with his bare hands, Lee Sungmin targeted Geniella’s back. The eyes of Baek Sogo, caught by the throat, met Lee Sungmin’s.“You should’ve just lain down quietly.”Geniella sneered, manipulating her magic. The distance was too short. It was too late to avoid it. Oslo’s blessing had nearly run out.Rubia burst out from within Lee Sungmin’s arms. Whether now was the right moment, she wasn’t sure. But if she didn’t do something now, that dreadful Queen of Monsters would kill everyone. Please, let it reach.Rubia thought, tightly closing her eyes.BOOOM!!!The blessing bestowed upon Rubia by the Queen of Spirits erupted into a dazzling light. Geniella’s power, unleashed at close range, could not penetrate the barrier Rubia created.“Oh my.”Geniella’s eyes widened in surprise. She had never imagined that a mere artificial spirit could block her power.“Go…!”Rubia shouted with all her might. Lee Sungmin, stunned by Rubia’s defense, passed by her body.Once more. Infinity imbued the tip of Lee Sungmin’s spear.“No…” Scarlett murmured quietly.Lee Sungmin’s body, now missing its head, staggered and fell. “Was that too harsh?” Geniella frowned and murmured.“You can’t die yet.”Geniella threw Baek Sogo’s body onto the ground, and the earth heaved.“AHHHHHH!”Oslo screamed. She escaped Geniella’s restraint, bleeding all around her body. However, her desperate struggle did not change the situation. Geniella’s magic tore through Oslo’s wings, and her body plummeted downward.“No.. no…”Rubia, sprawling helplessly on the ground, muttered in terror.“Are you alive?”The headless body of Lee Sungmin twitched on the ground. Geniella smiled wryly, watching the severed neck bubble.“You’re alive.”Geniella kicked Lee Sungmin’s body and murmured.“No.”Scarlett looked down at her clenched fist and murmured. Logically, the right thing was to run away.Scarlett knew she could not turn the tide in this situation and did not believe running away was wrong. After all, one’s life mattered most. Surviving was the most important thing, even if the world were to end.She was old enough to distinguish between courage and recklessness. If the world were to end tomorrow, she thought it better to eat an apple than to plant an apple tree.“This won’t do.”This isn’t rational. You know this is a dog’s death. This isn’t courage; it’s folly. But what can’t be done can’t be done. I can’t stand by and watch. I know it’s a foolish act, but…Scarlett took a deep breath. Since you decided to do it, don’t regret it. Promise. No regrets, no resentments.“I’ll get the reward later.”If that’s even possible…Scarlett stepped out from behind the tree where she was hiding. Clutching her trembling legs, she cast a spell. She bolstered her wavering spirit with magic. Yet, the fear didn’t dissipate.

“You finally showed up, huh?” Geniella smirked, revealing her teeth in a smile.“I thought you would have run away by now. You’re a nicer kid than I thought. Or maybe just more foolish.”Scarlett didn’t respond. This wasn’t the right place. She had engraved magic circles in this area, but the fight between Lee Sungmin and Geniella had destroyed all of it.You’re uselessly strong. I can’t even have much hope because of that. No, don’t regret it. You knew this and still stepped forward, didn’t you? What were you thinking you could do?Geniella slowly approached Scarlett. Lee Sungmin, now without his head, was still twitching. No matter how strong Lee Sungmin’s regenerative powers were, regrowing an entire head would take a long time.Baek Sogo was struggling to rise from the crater where her body had landed. Her entire skeleton was shattered, and her organs were damaged.Yet, she somehow managed to stand up and glare at Geniella. A whirlwind of emotions swirled around her.Fear, despair, regret, hatred. Only Geniella felt a sense of thrill amidst this emotional maelstrom. The forest under the full moon was a banquet hall in a ripe atmosphere for Geniella.“Come at me, you bitch!”Scarlett screamed, swearing in an attempt to shake off her fear as she swung her widely spread arms.Red runes swirled around her. Geniella laughed loudly.“It’s been a while since I heard such language!”Geniella’s body kicked off the ground.

Scarlett’s space magic calculated Geniella’s speed. There was no chance for her to improvise casting magic. It had to be countered with precise calculation.‘There’s no time. I can’t use a big spell.’Even if it was inefficient, she had no choice but to hit with magical power directly. Or to rely on simple magic.Scarlett used Blink to widen the distance between her and Geniella, continuously calculating her speed.Accordingly, she immediately arranged her magic power. She focused on casting the fastest spells possible, turning simple masses of magical power into projectiles. She layered shields for reinforcement. Thousands of magical projectiles were formed.Given more time, she might have even calculated the action patterns, but that was too much to ask for.Thousands of magical projectiles split the night sky. A single point of concentrated magic power pierced through Geniella’s magic.Geniella smirked at the incoming magic projectiles converging into a single point.BOOM!!Geniella’s hand extinguished the magical projectiles with a single swing.“Monster bitch…!”She was stronger than expected.

Would simple magical projectiles not work? Should I rearrange the magical array to increase the power or spend time preparing a grand spell? No, either way, there isn’t enough time.

Geniella was already closing in. Scarlett widened her eyes and poured all her magic into the shield.Geniella’s nails easily shattered the shield. The impact caused Scarlett to spit out blood as her body was flung backward, tumbling across the ground.“AAAHHH!!”Baek Sogo screamed as she rushed at Geniella from behind.“Speak, say something. I’m tired of just hearing screams.”“It hurts…”Scarlett muttered, coughing up blood as she tumbled on the ground. Although she had resolved not to regret her actions, regret flooded in.Geniella spun around to face Baek Sogo, who was attacking from behind. Baek Sogo’s fist aimed for Geniella’s chest. As Geniella caught the fist and was about to break it…BAAM!!Geniella’s body tumbled across the ground. The Black Dragon didn’t wait for her to stop rolling before charging at full speed towards her.

“Did you also come?” Geniella’s body awkwardly rose to its feet, supported by a surge of red mana.“Shouldn’t there be one more?”The Black Dragon didn’t respond. Teresa was nowhere to be seen. Lee Sungmin lay decapitated and fallen, while Oslo, with her wings torn, gasped in pain, impaled by a mana spear.Baek Sogo could hardly move, and Scarlett had been injured as well.Geniella laughed loudly, launching a crimson blade. The Black Dragon’s skin, covered in black scales, deflected the slash.“The performance is good, but you don’t look pretty. You look like a lizard,” Geniella sneered. The Black Dragon reached out and grasped Geniella’s neck. The hand instantly squeezed, crushing her neck and causing a fountain of blood to burst from her exploded head.“Where’s the other one?” (TL: it helps to know that Lloyd is still alive somewhere.)Why just one?He didn’t ask why it was only one; he knew. He had seen it before coming here. The Black Dragon recalled the Spear King, who died with a satisfied smile.Even in death, what was there to smile about? Half his body was blown away, and his head was barely intact, but he was smiling…Hadn’t he said he’d fight with the Martial God? Did he leave behind such regrets even as he died?

I envy you.Thwack!Geniella’s mana punctured the Black Dragon’s shoulder. The concentrated mana was strong enough to pierce through dragon scales. The Black Dragon’s body staggered momentarily, but he pushed forward. Teresa’s body was nowhere to be seen…Had she not left even her body behind? Or had she survived? His martial arts shattered Geniella’s mana and pressured her.Geniella, with her bare body, took the Black Dragon’s strikes. Though her body was bursting, Geniella’s mana drilled through the gaps in his martial arts.

Lloyd looked down at Weiss.“Why…”He had attempted it several times. His life wasn’t too precious. The only thing that could solve the current situation was Weiss’s magic. The magic that had exiled the immortal quasi-Demon King, Kim Jong-hyun, from this space and time…The magic that Abel had cast by using his remaining lifespan and that of his dying brother Cain… Only that magic could solve the current situation, but he couldn’t use that magic.“Why exactly…”Lloyd looked down at Weiss with wavering eyes. It wasn’t just the banishment magic.None of Weiss’s magic could be used. They had been available up until now.Even when fighting against the advancing army of Death Knights, Liches, and monsters, Weiss’s magic had been accessible. But, when he aimed to target Geniella and prepared the magic, Weiss didn’t respond.‘Is this fate…?’Lloyd grasped Weiss tightly, continuing to pour mana into it. Weiss still emitted no light. Lloyd opened Weiss. The pages filled with characters were disappearing.Someone was making it impossible to use Weiss’s magic, erasing the magic contained within Weiss.Who could do such a thing? The Divine Spirit? Who else but a god could do this?“Is this really… the end?”Lloyd murmured in despair.
