Chapter 84
Chapter 84
84 A Suspicious Friend.
“Rong Yue, let’s take you round the capital today okay? You can use that opportunity to see your future university.” Wang Bo told Rong Yue with a patronizing smile after breakfast.
After last night, every member of the Wang family younger generation had moved to name basics with her especially this two that seemed like they wanted to occupy every bit of her time.
“I have some places to see and I would like to get a dress for the occasion.” She told them with a small smile. Although she said it just like that, she had thought over her words all through breakfast.
“Grandfather already ordered you a dress, my first aunt does traditional qipao and would have your dress brought in this evening.” Wang An said and then looked at her eagerly, hoping she would say yes.
“Rong Yue is used to doing things on her own, you should allow her to get out and see things by herself.” Wang Lei chided as he walked back into the living room.
“Let me drop you off at your first stop. I’m leaving for work now.” He told her as he picked up a key from the key storage.
“Okay, I’ll leave with him.” She told the other two that were looking sullen and unhappy.
“I’ll be back soon and then we can do anything you want me to do with you.” She offered which was a good decision as the both of their eyes lit up like puppies that had been given bones.
After exchanging some more words, she rushed after Wang Lei hurriedly since she knew that sneaking out would not be easy if her master came down.
.....
“Where’s your first destination?” Wang Lei asked as he started the key, with two meetings and the plane ride, she didn’t feel he was some stranger anymore and felt comfortable giving him the direction that Qin Yichen had given her.
“Rose springs?” Wang Lei asked with surprise in his voice and expression. Although it was not the most elite location in the capital, it was the newest and from the charts, it was going to keep sky rocketing in price. However, no one could buy it and rumors were that the young master of the Qin family had bought the whole land even before it was launched.
For fear that the friend Rong Yue was going to meet could be doing some rough play, Wang Lei spoke up.
“I don’t think that’s a residential area at the moment, are you sure of the address?”
“Hmmm, my friend cannot lie about such. It also happens that he is quite sick at the moment and I have to get some medicine for him also.”
The more Rong Yue said, the more suspicious Wang Lei became. If for any reason they had to believe that the friend was really living there, it was impossible to afford a place like that and not have people caring for them.
“Okay, you can drop at a supermarket ahead to get some medicine and food essentials before going,” without saying anything else, he drove into the parking lot of a nearby supermarket.
As soon as Rong Yue got down, Wang Lei picked his phone and made several calls and it was only when he was sure that it was only the Qin family that had access to the land that he stopped making calls.
“Rong Yue, where your friend is staying doesn’t seem to be a residential area, you can call him and let me talk to him to be sure of the address.” Wang Lei told her as soon as she entered.
“Okay, I’ll do so.”
Rong Yue called Qin Yichen twice without being able to reach him which made Wang Lei even more certain that something was wrong.
“Let’s just keep going, I’m sure there’s no trouble.” Rong Yue told him after a while. Regardless of what, she knew who Qin Yichen was and was sure that he couldn’t deceive her.
They would have to get there first to be sure. Since she insisted, Wang Lei said nothing more and drove the car gently for about half an hour more until they arrived at the entrance of the Rose Springs estate.
“We are here,” he informed her, looking around carefully to be sure that all was fine while also looking at the empty gate post.
Rong Yue on the other hand sent a message to Qin Yichen and then attempted to open the door.
“It’s getting quite late to go to work. You can leave me here, my friend would explain the rest to me,”
“What are you saying, Rong Yue? If anything happens to you, grandfather would possibly disown me for abandoning his only student. I’ll wait here with you.” He added resolutely and then locked the doors using the car central lock.
About five minutes later, two young men rushed towards the gate from inside and then opened it. Hearing the pure of a machine, Wang Lei instinctively drove his car back to allow the car enough space to pass.
However, the car didn’t move even after a long while and instead, the sound of a door opening sounded.
After a while, Qin Yichen appeared by the gate and kept on walking towards them. With a mask and sunglasses on, it was hard for Rong Yue to see his face or condition but months of seeing that his distinct figure and aura, she was certain that he was the one.
“That’s him,” she informed Wang Lei who was still staring suspiciously at the man in black sweatpants and a grey sweatshirt.
“Are you sure?” The more Wang Lei looked, the more the man looked suspiciously familiar to him.
??????????
“Who’s that?” Qin Yichen asked her like he had no idea after Wang Lei drove off.
“That’s my master’s grandson, he decided to drop me off. Since you are so sick, why do you have to come and pick me up by yourself?” She asked as she sent him a glare.
“I didn’t drive, it’s just safer to come and pick you up myself.” Qin Yichen said and then sneezed making Rong Yue forget her next line as she tried to drag his body that clearly weighed more than hers to the car.
Rong Yue looked around in curiosity as she looked at the empty estate that had nothing in sight.
“Why is where you leave so empty?” She asked, her gaze not moving from the scenery outside. Although the land mass was well maintained and gave off a natural and pristine atmosphere, for somewhere that someone lived, it was a little too empty.
“My house is further down.” Qin Yichen siad and then without any warning pulled her body from where she was until she was almost sitting on his legs.
“Qin Yichen! Don’t start with me this time.” Rong Yue growled angrily as she tried to escape from his embrace.
“Just stay like this for a little while, I have missed you,” Qin Yichen confessed and used that opportunity of her looking away to draw her closer to him.
Rong Yue stiffened in his arms as he placed his head in the curve between her head and shoulders. Although she felt uncomfortable and could feel her heart thumping like it was on some roller coaster ride, she also didn’t want to be aggressive with him this time when he was weak.
“Okay, five minutes only.” She managed to say after a while and then sat there still while the car drove slowly through the tiled roads.
From her increased vintage on his leg, she could see the landscape better and was able to see that there was also some plantation down down from where the road was.
“Is that a farm I see over there?” She asked curiously. After more than a minute of not getting any response, Rong Yue turned her head to see what was wrong with him only to find him fast asleep!
Her first reaction was anger but as she looked at the eye bags under his eyes and how fatigued he looked, Rong Yue refrained from saying anything more and just allowed him to sleep on her shoulder like that.
After like fifteen minutes, the car turned into another path and Rong Yue looked up, her mouth parting open as in slight surprise as she saw the luxurious houses in front of her.
They were a total of five to six houses and each one was a mansion in its own right. However, it was clear that they were built separately since she was able to spot some quick variations in designs. Also, each mansion had a its own fence and gate allowing one to know that each houses probably had different owners.
The driver stopped at the last house which Rong Yue also felt had the least conspicuous style. However, other than it being bigger than the rest, the design and execution in architectural design seemed to be a lot better than the others also.
As soon as the car rolled to a stop, Rong Yue tapped Qin Yichen awake.
When he had requested for a hug from her, he hadn’t expected that he would sleep off and only had the intention of riling up his little girl.
He raised his hands to massage her shoulder blades as his eyes became solemn with blame.
“I missed you too much that I was unable to sleep these past few days.” He said shamelessly as he felt Rong Yue’s glare and accusations from her eyes.
