Primitive Man

Chapter 131: Garo & Ganna

Chapter 131: Garo & Ganna

With tiny scales and a playful demeanour, Garo quickly became the heartthrob of the village. Children giggled at his antics, and even the adults couldn't resist his charm.

Even though he looked like a reptile, his charm was able to capture many hearts in the village, but not everyone's. Some people hated Garo, specifically those who had witnessed the horrors of a dinosaur.

One sunny afternoon, the village square was abuzz with activity. Villagers gathered around, eager to interact with the lovable Garo. A group of curious onlookers attempted to feed him insects and treats, only to be stopped by the vigilant Rona.

"Oh no, you can't feed him that! Rona says it's not good for him," one of the kids whispered to another, as they reluctantly withdrew the snacks.

Most of the kids were rather interested in Garo, but Rona didn't want to deal with anyone messing up with him, so she prevented anyone from entering Garo's living area.

Meanwhile, in a workshop on the outskirts of the village, Grant was hard at work on his latest creation - ammo for defensive ballistic weapons to protect the village from potential threats.

His loyal companion, Maro would usually lounged nearby, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings. But today she was rather late and Garnt had to wonder what was happening.

"I wonder why she is late. Normally, she would sleep next to me while I work, but I guess after becoming responsible for Garo, she is rather busy," Garnt muttered to himself while trying to draw the correct blueprint for the gigantic arrows.

But all of a sudden, Maro broke into the workshop, and with a gentle grip on Garo's neck, the wolf trotted towards Grant's workshop. Grant looked up from his work, surprised to see the two animals approaching. He was even more surprised to see Maro looking like she was trying to do something rather important.

"What's this, Maro? Bringing me a visitor?" Grant chuckled, setting aside his tools. Garo squirmed in Maro's grasp, clearly excited to be in the presence of his favourite human.

'Keeeee! Keeeeee'

He kept making cute sounds for a dangerous animal, and Garnt had to wonder whether this cute animal really belonged to the race of gigantic dinosaurs he saw the other day.

As Maro gently released Garo, the little dinosaur wasted no time in nuzzling up to Grant. To Grant's surprise, Garo started showering him with affectionate licks. Grant hesitated, torn between continuing his work and giving in to Garo's adorable display of affection. Also, his feelings were conflicted because he knew just like Maro, he had stolen Garo's real life and replaced it with his own ideas.

'Damn it! He is cute, but how do I love him with all this guilt in my heart?'

[...]

"Well, I suppose a little break won't hurt since I want to get to know this little one," Grant mused, reaching down to pet both Garo and Maro simultaneously. The trio quickly settled into a heartwarming moment of shared joy.

Garnt obviously understood that Maro was trying to introduce Garnt as Garo's master since she was rather loyal to Garnt and he was really glad Maro became the mother figure in Garo's life.

The other workers, witnessing the scene, couldn't help but smile at the newfound bond between the tough patriarch and the two adorable creatures.

"Patriarch! You can rest for now. We will try to complete this work and call you," One fo the workers muttered and Garnt just nodded. But he didn't expect to see Ganna waiting for him near the entrance with his lunch.

As a married man, he would have been rather happy if it was one of his wives, but he knew all of them were busy with all the work he assigned to them, and Ayra quickly got back to her training after she saw bloody Garnt knowing without her training she would be a liability to Garnt.

Garnt shifted uncomfortably as Ganna beamed at him, her eyes reflecting an unsettling level of devotion. The air hung heavy with unspoken tension as Ganna handed over the lunchbox, her gaze fixed on Garnt's every move.

She had been rather quiet working in Garnt's house as a servant. Even though Gundo and Ayra both didn't like that, they allowed it since Garnt promised them that he wouldn't start a relationship with Ganna.

"Here you go, Patriarch. I made your favourite today," she chirped, her voice carrying a tone that made Garnt uneasy.

He opened the lunchbox and, to his surprise, was greeted by a tempting aroma. The sight of the neatly arranged dishes made it clear that Ganna had put a lot of effort into the meal. Despite his discomfort, Garnt appreciated the gesture.

"Oh, you really didn't have to do this," he said, attempting to downplay the situation, so she would feel that doing all this for someone is too much.

But Ganna seemed undeterred, taking a wooden spoon in hand and bringing it dangerously close to Garnt's mouth. He hesitated for a moment, exchanging an uneasy glance with Maro and Garo, who were still nestled beside him.

Ganna's eyes sparkled with anticipation as Garnt reluctantly accepted the bite. She grinned, clearly pleased with herself. "How is it? I made sure to add a special touch just for you."

"It's... good," Garnt admitted, trying not to encourage her too much. "But what is this special touch?"

"Ehhh~ nothing much, but it's a secret!" She answered his question and Eva obviously had to say something about what she just heard.

[Garnt, you better avoid eating the food she cooks next time. I have a feeling this crazy woman is doing something rather nasty.]

Garnt wanted to force her and ask what she did, but for now, he decided to ignore her.

As Ganna happily rambled on about her culinary skills and various accomplishments within these few weeks, Garnt couldn't shake the feeling of being trapped in an uncomfortable situation. He wondered how he had ended up in this predicament, with Ganna so fixated on him.

She leaned in, her eyes lingering on Maro and Garo. "Patriarch, do you think I'll ever be able to have children like them?"

Garnt's discomfort reached its peak. He sighed, realizing he needed to set some boundaries. With a determined look, he stood up, gently pushing Ganna's attempts at closeness away.

"Ganna, you're not my wife. You don't need to act like one," he said, his tone firm.

Ganna blinked in confusion, her infatuated expression faltering. "But... I know I'm not your wife. Why are you saying the obvious?"

Garnt sighed again, trying to choose his words carefully. "Just... be a friend. We work together, and that's it. No need for these gestures and questions about our personal lives. You should find a man who is willing to create a family with you. I'm not that man."

Ganna's confusion persisted, but she nodded slowly. "I understand, Patriarch. I'll try to act accordingly."

With that, Garnt left, hoping that his straightforward approach had made things clear. As he walked away, he couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling that this newfound obsession might not be easy to shake off. He looked at Ganna just so he could see how she was feeling, and she had a rather dark look on her face.

"Is this really going to be okay? Did I do the right thing?" Garnt asked from Eva.

[Obviously. You need to be strong with obsessed people like this. I also had a girl who acted like I was her lover despite me being married in my timeline. I always had to ignore her so she wouldn't try to exceed her limits.]

"What? This is news to me? What happened?" Garnt asked confused why a girl of the same sex loved Eva.

[She is a girl from my lab when we were experimenting with the universal material of the meteor. One day she suddenly confessed her love to me and said, I would be happy with her instead of my husband and I declined her, but until the accident, she always kept confessing to me like she was crazy about me.]

"That's weird. But I still can't understand why another woman would confess," Garnt muttered, showing he had no idea about relationships. He never thought about the possibility of two women being in a relationship, and just imagining it, he felt more and more confused because of how they would even have sex if they were two women.

[Hahaa~ that's what you want to know. Well, look at my memory and understand because this is a long topic, I would say rather complex topic even in my timeline.]

"Eva, you truly know everything. I don't even understand how amazing you were as a human to be like this. I truly want to see your timeline. Do you really think I can develop this land to become like that?" It was a genuine question from Garnt, and Eva had to answer truthfully.

[I don't know but try! Also don't keep your full trust in me because I might give the wrong information or decision. You already know that. So be careful and let's move forward.]
