Chapter 202 - Ancestor
Chapter 202 - Ancestor
[Author's note-->The next four chapters have lots of Information, but that is something everyone should be familiar with...at least in my novels :3]
'Maybe something changed about their attitude regarding the simple fighting style they liked to use and they're thankful?' Shane was unsure of the reason for their behavior but it was only fortunate that they didn't kneel down in front of him as it was the case with the Emperor and Empress.
??As such, Shane was still relieved and it was better if he was revered to a certain degree instead of being hated.
He kept walking through the palace and began to wonder if it was proper to just stroll into the gigantic throne hall.
However, before he could even find a way towards the throne hall, Shane encountered a crimson-colored Elemental who appeared in front of him.
"Am I right with my assumption that you're Shane Suro?"
The Elemental didn't seem to use any honorifics with Shane, who was labeled as an official ambassador by Emperor Kadir, indicating that he was the crown's special guest.
As such, Shane could immediately tell that the Elemental was a prominent individual too.
Bowing slightly to show his respect, he answered
"Yes Sir, my name is Shane Suro, but I don't know whom I have the pleasure to speak with."
The crimson-colored Elemental changed from a formless shape to a small humanoid form and Shane could sense his faint fluctuations. It made him wonder as to why there were so many humanoid-formed Elementals which the crimson-colored Elemental noticed as well.
"My name is Kalur, the Elus-race's ancestor, Old Emperor or Wisest Elementals, just pick one name out of these….Don't be so shocked..haha...I'm just a normal Elemental who likes to broaden his horizon by getting to know more races!
But, let's not talk about me. From the looks of it you seem to wonder why most royal Elementals take the shape of a bipedal being, right?
That's a simple thing to answer.
Most races feel more comfortable around us if we look similar to them and the majority of races we have met until now are, as a matter of fact, bipedal! As such we, the royalty, learn to adapt to a bipedal form from the day we are born.
Most of us have another form that we can mold ourselves into and it's like our first layer, while the humanoid form is a second layer on top of our natural shape."
Shane was astonished at the fact that he had randomly bumped into such a dignitary of the Elus-race while walking through the hallway. As he listened to him intently, doubt clouded his mind upon learning the reason for most royalties to take a bipedal form.
'Did the Old Emperor Kalur search for me or did he encounter me coincidentally?.... Well, it doesn't really matter!'
The crimson-colored Elemental called himself 'Wisest Elemental' which was what interested Shane the most right now. Shane was of the belief that the other titles conferred to him such as the Elus-race's ancestry or something similar were empty words.
As such, his eyes gleamed with interest as Shane blurted out
"Ka...Wisest Elemental Kalur, may I have some of your time to ask a few questions? I'm interested in many things about the Elus-race like the origin of Elementals, how long has it been since the Elus race entered the Primordial Dimensions, the difficulties your race had to face in the beginning, and so on….It might sound upsetting but I would like to know more about the Lesser Starlet Foxes too, like their habitat and behavioral patterns.
Sir should have already heard that I'm here for a reason other than building a firm relationship, otherwise, we wouldn't have met today...or am I wrong?"
Kalur, released a faint joyous aura as he turned around before saying
"If you want to hear more, follow me."
Shane nodded his head and followed Kalur for a few minutes. They entered a particular room that released an ancient aura that caused Shane to gulp nervously as he took a proper look around.
It was a library with several thousand books lined across the walls in neat rows on top of each other. As he glanced through the huge treasure trove of knowledge, each book he saw seemed to be older than the one before.
Unfortunately, Shane couldn't admire the library because Kalur continued to walk through it which forced Shane to follow with fast strides.
They walked through the length of the library and entered a small office that was connected to it.
Shane walked inside and sat down on a small couch after Kalur indicated to him to do so by pointing his hand to the couch.
"I have heard many things about you, little one. You've been here for less than three days while you slept for the majority, but you are already more popular than everyone in our younger generation, except our small troublemaker Ilya...not bad!"
When he heard this, Shane could only smile dryly, not knowing what the Old Emperor wanted to hear from him, as he continued to speak.
"I know why you're here and to be honest, I've been curious to meet you after Idral told me everything about you, which included what she saw through her foresight ability.
As such, I decided to look for you after you woke up, but to be honest, I didn't expect your body to recuperate so fast from overstraining your mana veins and body to such a degree.
Your mana veins looked extremely bad but it looks like they're all good now after our medic team continuously healed you while supplementing the healing process with potent potions.
That's a relief...it would be a shame that it would have been Kidar's fault if something were to happen to you….why did he even pressure our guest to solve our race's issues...That's a disgrace…"
Sighing deeply, Shane couldn't help but grin because he thought that Kalur was like an old grandfather nagging at everything and everyone with a particular charm.
"It was my decision to go all out and fight against the 20 Greater Elementals." Shane said, and it was the truth, even if Emperor Kidar and Empress Idral's nudge was a major factor to convince him in doing so.
"I know the truth, young one…You don't have to defend anyone, while you're here with me. I'm not as narrow-minded as most Elementals are! I have lived for a long time and seen too many foolish, yet kind-hearted Elementals permanently injuring themselves to please someone that I can't overlook seeing the same situation with one of our guests!
As an apology, I would like to answer your three questions! If I can't answer one completely because I lack the knowledge you'll get a total of two chances to question me in return! Doesn't that sound nice?
Either try to ask me questions I don't know the answer to, to receive an extra question or ask what you are the most curious about!"
Shane was baffled to receive something like this for helping the Elus-race in solving their simple combat style issue which was totally unexpected.
He couldn't even think of a question straight away because there was so much he wanted to know.
Furthermore, Kalur called himself the wisest Elemental and Elus-race ancestor which indicates that he lived for a very long time.
As such, his knowledge should be several leagues above Kia's.
This showed how sincere Kalur was with his apology. Shane couldn't help but think that this apology was definitely worth the pain and effort he put into the two sparrings two days ago.
