Chapter 248 - How Did I Not Notice That?
Chapter 248 - How Did I Not Notice That?
Trying to explain everything while holding some of the information was too bothersome!
As such, Shane explained everything without holding back.
This included the fact that he was about to establish an artisan group with non-combat occupations.
In the end, this was nothing out of the ordinary for other races and Kalur simply nodded his head to this information.
At the same time, he had been a little bit astonished that the human race had yet to establish an artisan federation or similar organization that managed all non-combat occupations.
However, that made him take a trip down the memory lane when the Elus race had been no different. They had been of the opinion that only a few non-combat occupations like runemaster, alchemist, and Mana augmenter were important and turned a blind eye to most others occupations. This obvious neglect had led to some major incidents that had caused many casualties in the past. Certain Elementals didn't acknowledge other non-combat occupations and a small civil war had started!
Mana augmenters could use certain skills that allowed items or skills to exceed their limitation for a few seconds. This could turn the tides in a battle and allow the former weak Elementals to fight against stronger beasts!
At the same time, there were a few rare augmenters who could combine several skills into one for a short period.
This included skills of different Elementals, such as combining a weak fireball and wind gust skill to create fire tornados. Though, it required proficiency and an adequate supply of mana.
Thus, one could imagine what the most popular occupation for Elementals was if one were to exclude a few high-quality direct combat occupations.
It was interesting to hear Shane's explanation, but Kalur couldn't understand why exactly he was doing that.
Only when Shane explained that he had read the Elus races' list for the materials and ingredients they could gather in bulk, did Kalur finally understand what exactly Shane was planning!
'Does he want to establish an exclusive contract with us? Without consulting his race about it? This could create conflicts between him and his race...doing something like this, independently, and without anyone's knowledge...that's dangerous…'
When he started to explain everything, Shane had already decided that it would be best to directly show Kalur how the Hidden paradise looked like.
At the same time, he was aware of the exact price list and goods the Elus and human race exchanged with each other which gave him a huge advantage.
There were many items in both lists that he would require in the future! Instead of being worried about gathering them all by himself or to start searching for a trustworthy merchant, he could use his own race and the Elus-race as his two largest connections to build a proper foundation for his Artisan group!!
He had yet to find a suitable name for his group with which he would establish the faction for both his artisan group and combat-oriented group, which he would require for other things.
Shane didn't want to rely on merchants or the government to conquer places like an elemental crystal cave and other similar places. As such, he would have to create his own combat unit!
But that was only something he could take care of if he had enough resources and it would be the best if his world's mana heart had already been awakened by that time.
However, it astonished him when Kalur suddenly asked
"I can tell that you're quite unique but have you consulted your race beforehand about what you're trying to do? Won't that harm your relationship with them? It might even look like you want to overthrow the government… I don't want to intervene in anything but it looks quite dangerous and bold if you were to ask me!"
Shane understood that Kalur gave him a well-meant advice, that could also be seen as a warning to be careful about his own race.
If the Old Emperor were to be honest, he had lived for a very long time which meant that he had seen lots of things in his life.
As such, there weren't too many things that astonished or even shocked him.
But, Shane had made this possible.
It was already a rare sight to see someone, at such a young age, working with a true world, like Shane, who had bound it to his own soul.
This meant that he could establish an entire civilization within himself. On the flipside, certain disadvantages, such as the increase in the Dimension traveling fees with every new individual traveling within Shane's world, couldn't be ignored.
As such, if he were to enter the Advanced Dimensions or mainlands, his expenses would be terrifyingly high!
He would either have to earn enough to face the high prices or work around them, which was, however, extremely difficult in some cases.
Yet, this was not something the Old Emperor was astonished about, but more about the fact that Shane had been able to nurture the world within him at the Apprentice stage, and the fact that it had already bloomed.
Under normal circumstances, this would be extremely expensive and Kalur couldn't help but recall that the human race had yet to awaken their origin planet's mana heart.
As such, he had to ask,
"It is obvious that you couldn't nurture the world seed alone...how did you do it? I doubt that your race has enough resources to procure enough mana stones for you. That is if they didn't use some of the resources they had reserved to use to awaken your origin planet's mana heart!"
When Shane heard this, he was unsure of what to say
"I...The discounts for [self-earned] income and my cultivation realm at the [Apprentice] stage included the required amount of mana...yet, my family had to acquire a mountain of mana stones at the [Soul] grade.."
Shane had found it weird that the amount of mana he had required to blossom the Hidden Paradise was so low, but the discounts he had received lowered the demand for mana by a large margin.
"A mana stone mountain at the [Soul] grade...Your family must have either accumulated a large stockpile of mana stones during the last few decades, forged good ties with the government to receive so many mana stones, or I grossly underestimated humanity's strength...The latter shouldn't be the case, because I've already read through the stockpiled goods accumulated by the human race and how much their constant supply is!"
How should Shane reply to that? He could roughly understand what the Old Emperor wanted to imply but he himself didn't know where his father, uncles, and aunts got the [Soul] grade mana stones from!
'Aunt Kia told me that everything is fine and that they will take care of everything. I haven't even thought about the fortune they must have spent to provide me with enough resources.' Shane was lost in thoughts when Kalur spoke again.
"It looks like you haven't thought about that yet. That's why I asked you if you have already spoken with your race's government about the fact that you might want to use the price list of items, both the Elus- and human race exchanged with each other!
If you want to maintain a good relationship with your race, it might be better to inform them about the exclusive trading contract that, I assume, you want to make with us. Furthermore, it wouldn't be bad to report that you'll form a faction soon too… I have heard of some races that don't want their people to create combat units for their self-interests, but that might not be an issue with the human race."
Shane could tell that the Old Emperor was concerned about a few things, so Shane couldn't help but smile lightly.
Suddenly, he recalled the golden orb the Old Emperor had used in order to manifest a spatial portal that had brought him and the Lesser Starlet fox to one of the guest rooms within the palace.
"I can talk to them anytime and will do that soon. I have to report my survival and the fact that I solved my mission either way! But before that, I would like to know...what is that golden orb that manifested a spatial portal? How far is its reach? Is it possible to create a gate...from within the Primordial Dimension to a different planet?"
Shane was not worried about creating bad blood with the human race, the only thing he suddenly felt bad about, was the fact that his family might have used the human-races resources to provide him with enough [Soul] grade mana stones.
He hadn't even noticed that he had greedily accepted the mana stone mountain without enquiring about the source of the huge pile of mana stones they had painstakingly acquired for him. His family had rushed to his aid and provided him with the required quantity pretty quickly and the stones were also at a high grade!
'I really missed that, huh?' Shane asked himself as Kalur took out the golden orb he had already packed away earlier.
"You mean this? It's the simplest type of space door. To explain it in simple terms, everyone can use it as long as one has mana. I don't know how exactly it was created but within the orb, there is a spatial affinity stored, and by accessing this affinity you can use it to a certain extent."
"Space door??"
