Chapter 288 - One After Another
Chapter 288 - One After Another
Aisha couldn't believe what she had heard!
'Miriam wanted to help someone? And that someone is Shane??'
Meanwhile, Shane didn't realize that he had just turned into the center of attention for everyone.
Not only had he released mana currents comparable to someone at the Lord stage, but his bloodlust-killing-intent seemed to be strong too!
If that hadn't been enough, to top it all,r Aisha had rushed towards him in worry.
The Ice Goddess, who would never let anyone even come close to her, had been worried about someone they had never seen before, while Miriam Phe, the [Lone Phoenix] was also not someone who cared about others' business.
She was known for spending her time alone and when someone had asked her about the reason for this, Miriam had only answered that others would just stand in her way!
Yet, Shane didn't pay too much attention to either of them and he approached Olivia instead, to see how injured she was.
Fortunately, it was more of a superficial injury, and nothing had happened to her.
He sighed in relief, only to see that both Aisha and Miriam were staring at him with conflicted emotions.
'Why did I rush towards him like this?' Aisha wondered while Miriam was trying to figure out why exactly she had wanted to help Shane.
'It's not like he required my help either way, but then...why would I want to prevent him from killing someone? Is it because the event today is important? No, I don't really care about today's event…'
Both were confused about their behavior while Shane couldn't help but smile lightly as he thanked them.
He didn't know Miriam Phe but it was obvious that she had wanted to help. Though Shane couldn't be sure whether she wanted to help him by preventing killing someone or through some other way.
The commotion he had caused attracted everyone's attention, and it was not long before his aunts and uncles had emerged out of the crowd that had gathered around them.
'Why does it look like big families are even more curious than others?' Shane asked himself before he looked at his family with a dry smile.
"I had a small dispute with this guy, and I….calmed him down…" It was obvious that this was not the entire truth because the mana and bloodlust killing intent everyone had sensed told otherwise.
However, when Aunt Gabi saw how Shane had been standing in front of Olivia, whose cheek was crimson-red and swollen, she could comprehend what had happened.
It was not difficult to perceive that Olivia was Shane's friend and that something bad had happened.
Adding Shane's hot temper, everyone could guess what could have made him lose his cool.
Mia Ladras who had rushed after Shane in order to show him his place had stiffened when she had seen how Shane had effortlessly knocked out Lars Lector.
Suddenly Jack, who had been standing next to Shane mumbled,
"Why do I have an odd sense of deja-vù?"
This caused the tension around Shane and his friends to be fully released as Shane laughed out loud followed by Kylia.
Aimy and Olivia didn't know what it was about, but they felt that the tension was replaced by joy.
That was until Lars Lector's father and family had arrived at the scene, only to see that Lars had been knocked out.
Nobody had cared about him, and everyone had been simply staring at Shane in shock!
This enraged the Lector family and they pushed everyone who obstructed their way away before they took a look at Lars.
"I just warned him, he should regain his consciousness in less than five minutes," Shane suddenly said as his eyes turned cold again.
He sensed that the Lector family wouldn't accept this, and it was only because Aisha and Miriam had been next to him that they refrain themselves from doing something.
Shane saw Aunt Kia walk through the crowd with the system's holographic screen manifested in front of her.
She seemed to be extremely calm right now, however, Shane could see a glint of rage in her eyes that told him otherwise.
When she arrived next to the Ladras family, Kia pointed towards the corner of the room where a camera was stationed before she started to play the video of the incident involving Aimy and Lars.
The video ended with Shane knocking out Lars, and it was only then that Kia saw that Shane's strength had increased by such a large margin.
He was able to utilize the Hidden Paradise's stored mana much better than she had expected which allowed him to increase his combat prowess by a large margin!
Nevertheless, Aunt Kia couldn't help but frown when she saw that Shane hadn't even tried to compromise with Lars.
'He is still too hot-tempered!'
However, on the other hand, she was able to understand Shane too, and Kia felt that the situation had become more complex than she had thought.
Suddenly, as if Shane and the others had not attracted enough attention, he heard a familiar voice within the crowd.
Only a moment later a few younger descendants of big families screamed out, in fear and excitement as they saw two beings from another race parting their way through the crowd.
It was not common to see an intelligent foreign race on Igra, even less at a young age.
Yet, the voice Shane heard sounded excited.
"Shane, you can't even avoid troubling your own race! I now know why you wanted to spar with Greater Elementals and even me!!"
It was Princess Ilya with her darkness and light liquefied humanoid mass who had said this.
She was walking next to Kalur, the Old Emperor with his crimson-colored mass, and Shane could tell that he was curious about what had happened.
Igra didn't interest either of them, and there had been other reasons to accept the invitation to the mana awakening event.
In the end, meeting Shane again was the biggest reason for Princess Ilya as she had something important to say to him!
The Old Emperor was also curious about Shane's soul bound world and how it had developed since they had parted ways.
Other than that, he had self-appointed himself as the Elus race's ambassador, because he had to figure out the other humans' behavior and attitude.
Signing a treaty with the human race was mostly based on Shane's worth and not on how valuable mankind was to them.
The resources they had traded were helpful, but that did not mean the Elus race could act recklessly!
When Shane saw them, he couldn't help but smile as he greeted them in a friendly manner without being overly polite.
He knew that both Old Emperor Kalur and Princess Ilya didn't want him to be formal, which was the reason for Shane to act like this.
Nevertheless, others eyed him weirdly as they bowed deeply to both guests of a foreign race.
It was always said that it was most important to be polite when encountering other races mankind had a treaty with!
As such, the big families paid attention to their manners, only to see Shane act nonchalantly.
The Lector family noticed that the situation would escalate if they were to do something to Shane right now, even more so after seeing the video that turned Lars into the main perpetrator!
Both Princess Ilya and the Old Emperor passed by Aisha and Miriam without paying much attention to them as they appeared in front of Shane.
"Let's spar later! I sensed your mana fluctuations and your bloodlust killing intent has advanced too!"
Based on Ilya's voice, one could tell that she was eager to fight Shane, yet, instead of accepting the spar, Shane only shook his head.
"I don't want to use up too much stored mana to fight you! I've even retracted the mana I had utilized before."
These words caused Old Emperor Kalur to intervene,
"Didn't you absorb enough mana on Masua? With the consumption you have, our planet's naturally produced mana should be more than enough to sustain everything for several decades...that is if the consumption didn't increase too much or you've already used up a lot."
Shane noticed how Kalur tried to avoid the words 'soul bound world, unique constitution, and Hidden Paradise.'
For this, he was thankful and he only said,
"We can talk about everything later. Right now, I'm just mindful of my mana consumption, and I don't know if sparring with someone who would force me to use the smallest trace of mana within me would be the smartest choice!"
Because they knew about the Hidden Paradise, both Old Emperor Kalur and Princess Ilya just nodded their heads, while the crowd that surrounded them only understood one thing for sure.
'This youth is allowed to stay on the Elus-race's planet as long as he wants!!'
Yet, instead of causing a commotion, everyone fell completely silent, and one could only hear that the Lector family picked up Lars Lector in order to hush the matter as quickly as possible.
However, what happened afterward astonished even Shane, because he could hear a clear and sonorous female's voice, speaking in the Primordial language
"Ilya, what are you doing here? Does the Elus race have a treaty with the human race too?"
Turning around, Shane saw two extremely beautiful beings, he assumed to be the Forest elves that his father had invited!
"Nala you are here too?" Princess Ilya suddenly mumbled.
'What kind of gathering is this event turning into???' Shane and the others could only think as the attention that was drawn to them intensified!
It was confusing, but also interesting to figure out that Ilya seemed to know one of the forest elven.
This allowed Shane to decipher that the Elus race seemed to have a great relationship with the forest elven too, which in turn, made everything much easier for the human race!
'If we're drawn into a fight because of the Forest Elven, the Elus race wouldn't be reluctant to fulfill the agreement they've signed!!'
