Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 358 Malfunction

Chapter 358 Malfunction

358  Malfunction

He didn't die, and the dungeon's automatic defensive system caused everything lethal around Oran to dissipate.

After the fight was over, Shane's legs gave in and he fell to the ground.

His entire body was aching and he was unable to move anymore.

Several minutes passed, and it was only when Ilya approached him, that he was able to turn his head.

"I got 5,000 value points for my contribution. Congratulations on receiving 30,000 points!"

She seemed to ridicule him, but Shane didn't really understand what was so funny.

As such, he tried to ignore her, only to feel that his hair was puffed up and charred due to the electric currents that had hit him.

However, he felt that his efforts had paid off in the end when he saw that he had indeed received 30,000 value points.

Not only was this distracting but it was also helpful for the rewards they would receive in three days.

Shane knew that he was not in a state fit to fight for the next three days, and the first rank holder was someone he really wanted to avoid at all costs.

The first rank holder was even stronger than Oran. As such, Shane wouldn't have a nice time fighting against him.

There were all kinds of things he had to pay attention to, and avoiding rank number one was the top priority.

Because they didn't want to offend Oran who would most likely regain consciousness soon. Shane knew that Oran would easily pass the test by defeating an opponent with 100 value points, hence they didn't take anything from him.

Fortunately, it didn't take long before Shane's body allowed him to move once again.

It was very painful, and he had to avoid fighting but that wouldn't be much of a problem.

Nobody could detect them if they concealed their mana, and hid somewhere far away.

With that in mind, they departed, changing their path every now and then to evade the groups of dungeon challengers that were searching for easy prey to gain value points from.

Fortunately, Cosmo was good at scouting, and without making any mistake, it was not too difficult to walk out of the floor unscathed.

A total of three days passed, and their fourth floor task had finally concluded. Shane had used quite a few purified recuperation and other kinds of potions to recuperate faster.

However, what astonished Shane and the other dungeon challengers was that the system didn't give them a notification about having passed the fourth floor.

They were just brought to a resting room as a sonorous voice resounded in their mind.

[The 4th Floor has been completed, rewards can be chosen individually! The accumulated value points can be exchanged with goods by using the dungeon shop. ?%§&/

**SYSTEM-4345531343123-Error**&/=))]

Shane squinted his eyes in doubt when he heard about the error. This was something he had never seen or even heard of.

Because of that he didn't waste any time and asked Princess Ilya if she had heard the same voice in her head.

She just nodded her liquefied head hesitantly as if she was not sure what was going on.

Instead of stopping there, Shane opened the system messenger that was working perfectly fine, before he sent a message to every single contact in his contact list.

[My system malfunctioned for a moment. Did the same happen with you too?]

It was a simple message, and everyone could decide for themselves whether they wanted to answer or not.

However, if someone were to hear about the system malfunctioning, most would be wary.

This was because something like that had never happened before, and a single individual's system malfunctioning could be a sign.

In the end, it was not only Shane's system that had malfunctioned, but every dungeon challenger's too.

They had been teleported to the resting floor they had been to earlier, and it was only then that everyone started to ask each other about the error they had received.

Most concluded that the dungeon was at fault, or that it was a unique joke originating from the dungeon.

However, Shane took this matter more seriously than others.

There were certain things that weren't allowed to make a mistake, and the system was one of them!

To put it simply, there were numerous users that had the system's sentience implanted into them, allowing them to use certain functions, but there had yet to be an error!

Shane was not sure since how long the system, or the Primordial Dimensions that were correlated, had existed, but it was obvious that there was something going on, and it was bad!!

While trying to make a sense of the situation, he took a deep breath and calmed down.

Unfortunately, despite being aware that there was something fishy, Shane was unable to do anything.

Even though the system had malfunctioned, the others he had messaged didn't notice that anything was off.

As such, Shane couldn't ignore the theory about the dungeon malfunctioning instead of the system.

He didn't believe it, but the possibility was still there.

Thus, he accessed the dungeon shop after he had calmed down, and was able to purchase all kinds of things with the 51,000 value points he had accumulated.

This ranged from simple [Legendary] quality weapons to different types of accessories, cultivation resources, skills, martial art techniques, rare materials, up to all kinds of things one could imagine.

The restrictions on what one could purchase were insignificant as long as one had enough points, and Shane was unable to suppress a bright smile.

Because the news about the Great Elven war had been a hot topic of discussion throughout PrimWeb, Shane had been worried quite a bit.

As such, there were many things he wanted to purchase.

To put it simply, he had thought about increasing his own combat prowess as high as possible.

However, now that he thought about it, this seemed to be the wrong way.

What use would it be even if his own strength increased by more than 50%, double, triple, or even tenfold?

Would that be enough to defeat possible enemies that might attack them at any moment?

Definitely not! Shane could tell that a grand army that only consisted of the elite of the elite was much better.

Thanks to this conclusion, he switched the priority on his purchase list to extremely rare blueprints that brought in a huge fortune within a short amount of time!

As long as his Astral Artisans could produce something great within a short amount of time, he could make a huge fortune which he would further reinvest.

At the same time, a small share of his profit would be saved up in order to awaken the Hidden Paradise's mana core as soon as possible!

There were all kinds of suitable items inside the dungeon shop, and the number of points Shane had was more than enough to purchase most of them.

However, in the end, he wanted to create the most efficient path that would allow him to earn a huge fortune, making his worries vanish into thin air.

PrimWeb was filled with all kinds of rumors, and Shane's hope was that not even 1% was the truth. Otherwise, mankind would have more issues owing to the alliance with the Forest elven than initially expected.

The worst rumor he had heard was that an advanced race had openly voiced out their opinion about supporting the Dark Ice Elves!

If they were to truly receive the support of an advanced race, the Dark Ice Elves wouldn't hold back anymore. Thinking about that possibility made Shane gulp nervously. He could already visualize what kind of horror would descend on the races that had rejected their approaches!
