Chapter 392: Pre-measures

Chapter 392: Pre-measures

*One month later*

Bright sun rays shone through the window of a ginormous hall, where one could see a young man tightly wrapped in bandages.

Several machines were attached to him, looking over his physical and mental state, while a small silver furred fox and a black scaled snake with the length of 130 meters stared at him with a knowing expression.

It was time for Shane, the young man to wake up!

The moment the young man’s finger moved, Cosmo jumped up while Umbra lifted his large head to look at Shane from above.

They were worried, but they also knew that Shane didn’t have any permanent injuries which were all thanks to Levi, who had healed him.

When he opened his eyes, he was immediately greeted by his tamed beasts which caused him to smile.

However, just a moment later this smile caused him extreme pain.

Shane couldn’t even move an inch without his sore muscles flaring up in searing pain.

This caused Shane to shake his head.

Initially, he had wanted to move his upper body to sit up, but Shane could tell that he had to wait a little bit longer, at least until his mind had adjusted to his body’s state.

Even then he would have to force himself to endure the pain while moving.

While he waited, both Umbra and Cosmo transmitted him all kinds of thoughts and pictures about what had happened since his final battle against Megane.

A month had passed since he had been in a coma, but there shouldn’t be anything wrong with his body after Levi had improved his state by a large margin.

There were several things he had to pay attention to right now, but Shane could feel that he didn’t sustain any permanent injuries.

Rather, his veins seem to have been strengthened which was something he would have never expected.

It was only ten minutes later that Shane felt that his vocals and the muscles necessary to speak had lost some of their tension and soreness.

“To think that I almost died while being too excited to fight…” Shane just mumbled recalling the entire fight with Megane.

It was exciting but definitely not worth the loss of one month’s time to cultivate! There were so many things he had to accomplish yet, and the time was running short.

As such, he couldn’t just lie on the bed and do nothing.

Cultivating was the bare minimum he could do right now!

The moment he wanted to move his upper body, both Cosmo and Umbra emitted weird noises of a warning saying that he shouldn’t move.

Shane had wanted to ignore this, only to see a certain transmitted picture from Umbra, which caused him to lower his head.

There was a hand-sized, green-colored, egg-shaped object enveloped with thin vines lying on his chest!

This caused him to squint his eyes because he had no idea what this was.

Only then did he recall that he had secured the second rank in the |Basic| Primordial tournament.

He had already forgotten about that, and his mind was preoccupied with things he had to do in the future!

As such, he opened the system where he was bombarded with several notifications at once.

[System announcement- The last |Basic| Primordial tournament has concluded, congratulations to the winners, and every participant!]

The first message was already shocking and Shane would have jumped up and rushed towards Masua in order to start cultivating under the best possible circumstances.

That was, if he could move, which was unfortunately not possible.

His ankles were the most injured and Shane assumed that he would have to move around with Umbra for the time being.

However, that was not the issue right now.

More problematic was that the system message was another clue about the Primordial dimension and the system’s possible disappearance.

“The government won’t ignore my information now, will it? At least, my aunts and uncles would listen to me!” He blurted out, only to notice that the large door at the other end of the large hall he was inside had opened.

“You’re right, the government won’t ignore this anymore, the same goes for the lethal threat from the Dark Ice Elves. We don’t know why it happened now, but the Dark Ice Elves have now revealed the existence of the Dark Ice Elf you fought.

I guess this young girl called Megane received quite a lot of benefits after achieving the first rank in the Primordial tournament!”

On one hand, this could be seen as bad news because Megan would just become stronger, but Shane didn’t think like that. On the contrary, he was quite happy.

“Doesn’t that mean the Dark Ice Elves will stop attacking the basic races that figured out the Dark Ice Elves existence? I assumed that they annihilated the races because some individuals saw Megane which was something the Dark Ice Elves and the advanced race wanted to prevent.”

Shane was coughing up words at such a rapid pace that his neck began to ache once again. Thus, he had to calm down.

It was his father, uncles, and aunts who had come to visit him. The machines that were attached to Shane had informed them about him waking up from his coma.

Every single one of them had dark circles below their eyes and tired expressions, and it was only when they saw that Shane was fine that their faces lit up.

Only John Stella’s expression remained stoic.

“Unfortunately, it’s not that easy…the Dark Ice Elves and the advanced race that still remained hidden have other plans. Not only have they started to conquer the entire Radiant mountain ring dimensions with the Miac alliance, but they have also decided to wage war against every race with enough potential to threaten them in the future.

This only includes a few dozen basic races, and it looks like your fight was impressive enough to let the Dark Ice Elves think that the human race is dangerous enough!”

Shane’s eyes widened when he heard the last sentence and he was about to get out of the bed, ignoring the pain while barely holding the vine enveloped egg inside his trembling hand, only to see his father shaking his hand.

Clearing his throat, John Stella seemed to be reluctant about something, which caused Shane’s aunts and uncles to smile foolishly as he opened his mouth.

“Don’t feel burdened by that piece of news. To be honest, we have already estimated that the Dark Ice Elves want to wage war with mankind because of the alliance we had with the forest elves.

This alliance was terminated from both sides, but there are certain reasons for the Dark Ice Elves to think that we are still in a secretive alliance, which is the truth.

As such, it was something we were already prepared for….

The only issue is the advanced race and the possibility that your assumption about the disappearance of the Primordial Dimensions and the system might be true.

If that were to be true, we would be in a tricky situation…”

He smiled at his son before turning around.

“We have many things to do. Just give your best to become stronger and let us old people take care of everything!”

Shane was baffled that his father had smiled at him, but the reassuring words didn’t sound confident to him.

The others told him to get well soon, while leaving quickly, trying to prevent Shane from seeing their worried expressions.

It was only when all others had left except Aunt Kia who had stayed behind that Shane asked her,

“The situation looks bad, doesn’t it?”

She just nodded her head before answering,

“To be honest, with the worst possible timing, our entire race might be annihilated, and we have yet to figure out a solution…”

After that, she fell silent for a few minutes before he clutched her hands.

“We’ve already started to take pre-measures for the worst-case scenarios…but …maybe, if possible…could you try to enlarge your soul bound world faster?

I know it’s not easy, and much to ask for, but if we face the worst, the Hidden Paradise might be the only solution for everything…”

It was clearly visible how uncomfortable Aunt Kia was, and Shane didn’t take long to understand what exactly she meant with her words.

He couldn’t help but be shocked, but at the same time, it was evident that conquering a planet with mankind’s current strength was not feasible.

However, more feasible was the migration of a single individual with billions of beings stored within it!

Aunt Kia wanted Shane to turn into mankind’s vessel in order to escape their annihilation!

This sounded ridiculous but Shane could only smile lightly seeing how grave the situation was because it forced even Aunt Kia, who was the most rational and calm, to ask him for such a favor.

“I’ll give my best to enlarge the Hidden Paradise, and I will also build a perfect foundation…There is no need for all of you to worry so much! We should just give our best, survive and everything will be fine!”
