Chapter 428: Abandoned

Chapter 428: Abandoned

Chapter 428: Abandoned

The three headed blazing lion might have looked pitiful, but it was not something that concerned Shane.

He couldn’t show any mercy anymore because the King of the Savannah wouldn’t have hesitated to kill Shane if he had the chance so there was no need to be guilty for saving himself either.

The overlapping effect of the berserk skill wore off, leaving Shane in an exhausted state, while he could only slowly readjust himself to the huge amount of mana he had released at once.

A numbing headache and dizziness overcame Shane, only for Umbra, Cosmo, and Viridy to emerge around him.

They ignored the flames all around them, except Viridy who looked for protection and scampered to reach on top of Umbra, while shooting worried glances at Shane.

It might look like he was not injured, but the exhaustion weighing him down was worse than certain injuries he could have sustained!

As such, after he received the system notification he could barely store away the three headed blazing lion’s corpse before accessing the group chat of the Astral Starlight faction’s authorities.

After typing a quick message, Shane could barely climb on Umbra’s back before he succumbed to his exhaustion.

[Transfer the gold coins, I’ve finished one mission!]

After climbing on top of Umbra’s back, his eyes closed immediately and he slept for a long time before he regained his energy.

Umbra had already reached the closest Dimension Portal which was quite helpful as he wanted to enter the Soul-Onyx Jungle dimensions as the next destination.

Fortunately, he could access the human shelter there, as the map he had been provided pointed out his race’s shelter.

As such, it was extremely helpful for Shane to see where he could start and the rough direction he had to go.

Nevertheless, there were so many things he had to do that he didn’t even realise that the mission to receive permission to purchase the [Basic- Cultivation] knowledge crystal might as well be more dangerous than fighting the three headed blazing lion.

He had just given his all, and required a few days in order to solve other things that tormented his mind!

Slowly approaching the Hidden valley that seemed to be inside the [Soul-Onyx-Jungle] dimension, he saw that it had ‘merged’ according to the system mission’s exact words.

Because of that, Shane assumed that the Soul-Onyx-Jungle had become more dangerous than it had been before, which was not that difficult to comprehend.

Every single Primordial dimension had become more dangerous, even those that were said to have been lethal and with a high death-rate!

This was something nobody expected.

Thus, he was not actually worried about his own well-being.

Entering the Soul-Onyx-Jungle dimension, Shane emerged inside the human shelter.

He didn’t think that there would be many guards, let alone citizens, because mankind had other problems than securing one of the most useless shelters they had ever conquered.

That was, at least, what the new government thought, and Shane predicted that they would sever the Dimension portals’ connection between Igra and the BlackSoul shelter.

However, that didn’t really concern Shane because he rather used the funds he had received in order to purchase the basic knowledge crystal about |Physique|.

This included how to create body refinement manuals and was the second most important knowledge crystal followed by the |Cultivation| knowledge crystals that were by far the most important of all.

Knowing how to create manuals for the first three cultivation stages was extremely beneficial and the given basic knowledge was the foundation for the Intermediate and Advanced knowledge crystals about cultivation.

Shane didn’t even count the multitude of gold coins he would have to accumulate in order to purchase any knowledge crystal and simply used the funds he had been transferred by Talia.

As such, he could purchase the crystal which he sent back to the Astral Starlight faction without any hesitation.

He might want to learn how to create certain techniques later, but that was not something for now!

When Shane woke up from his sleep, he heard that Miriam was going on a mission for another basic knowledge crystal, but they were not about the cultivation or body refining process.

Apparently, she was trying to procure knowledge crystals to find ways to create martial art techniques, to naturally awaken affinities without the system’s help, certain blueprints, and all kinds of secret knowledge that might be useful for the future!

It was only then that Shane noticed that his three missions were not really a lot in comparison to the mission Miriam and the Conquerors seemed to fulfill.

Initially, he had wondered why they didn’t procure more resources from the Primordial dimensions, but Shane couldn’t help but call himself stupid, after giving it a second thought.

Without the necessary knowledge, they would lose some of their technology, let alone the necessary knowledge to make use of the resources they had acquired.

Shane had already left the BlackSoul shelter, only to notice that there hadn’t been a single guard or a living soul in the vicinity.

As a matter of fact, the shelter seemed to have been completely abandoned!

This astonished him more than expected because the BlackSoul shelter’s dimension portal was still connected to Igra.

He found it to be plain stupid and careless to leave the connection open because it opened doors for giving easy access to anyone who wished to take over the shelter.

Even if a single beast at the wild stage were to enter the shelter, it could conquer it by simply passing through the shelter walls, and approaching the dimension portal. The punishments for letting such an act happen would be grave too.

‘They could have severed the connection to Igra at least…’ He murmured before he returned his attention to the things he had to solve and the Soul-Onyx-Jungle dimension’s map that was right in front of him.

Taking out a compass, Shane hoped that it would work in the Soul-Onyx-Jungle dimension, only to notice with a faint smile that his assumption had been proven correct.

As such, he could move forward in the rough direction of the Hidden Valley inside the merged primordial dimension without too much of a hassle.

Because he was interested in evolving his soulbonds soon, Shane wondered how long it would take for Viridy to mature which would allow him to choose its evolution path.

Meanwhile, Umbra had still a few quality enhancements in front of him before he could even choose the strongest evolution path to evolve in.

This was something Shane was a little worried about, because he was not sure how long each quality enhancement would take, and how many there were still left.

In the end, Umbra couldn’t just stay behind on Igra because there could always be envious people that might interrupt Umbra’s quality enhancement, and the Hidden Paradise was no solution either.

No being that breaks the thresholds of the basic dimension was allowed to enter those dimensions.

This included every living being inside the soul world because Shane could easily summon a portal that connected the soul world to the place Shane was at.

Because he didn’t want Umbra to suffer, Shane could only wait with his quality enhancement, even if that would mean that it would take longer to allow him to reach his peak state.

‘Once I finish the missions, I’ll evolve Cosmo, and Viridy before taking care of Umbra’s quality enhancement…If I were to enter the dimension of the primordial shops, I would be able to see whether an item is required for his quality enhancement or not, right? I have this appraisal ability, or whatever it is, after all!’
