Chapter 118: Predator Or Prey[IV]
Two figures crashed onto the ground with a loud thud and bounced off due to the impact.
When the dust cleared, a figure attempted to get up by leaning on his sword but the figure quivered looking down at the gruesome sight.
When the blade silted in darkness collided with the claws, the two mystifying forms of energy at first clashed against one another and fought for supremacy, trying to overpower one another.
Terpas thought that he would win as his blood energy was purer and more condensed but his hopes crashed at the very next second as his energy slowly started to erode.
No, it wasn't eroded rather it started vanishing from existence. Soon, under Terpa's widened eyes filled with shock, disbelief, and horror, the darkness slowly started devouring his energy, and the blade wrapped in darkness went past between his fingers, and in a swift motion cut through the head till the waist where the energy intertwined in the sword exploded.
Blood was sprayed in a macabre arc, staining the surroundings as the uppercut portion and lower halves of the figure crashed on the ground, creating a disturbing scene of violence and finality.
The halved severed parts lay on the ground, each with a grotesque stillness that echoed the brutality of the decisive cut.
The deathly stillness was finally broken by a shout of misery
"HOWWW....HOWWWWWW!"
A bestial shriek erupted from Terpa's mouth surprising Leon.
"You can still talk."
Painful screams and grunts escape from his torn lips. His body convulsed and the bloody power in his body erupted trying to stitch back but much to his horror he wasn't able to do that.
An ominous eerie dark energy didn't let the blood heal.
"Wat di yu do? Wht's this?"
An unclear gruff voice echoed in the place.
Leon gasped heavily with weakness washing over his body. His qi reserves almost became nil and would have become zero if he hadn't stopped at the last moment.
Lifting his chin, he stared at the half-cut chimera coldly.
"Your tenacity to live is quite shocking."
Despite this, Terpas wasn't dead and still struggling to join himself as he wriggled on the dirt.
Leon got up with a groan and walked forward toward Terpas who was in fear and crawled back.
"Dnt kill me....Yu cnt brr the consequences..... "
Terpas wailed in pain. Never ever does the thought of getting killed by mere fodder they feed on appear in his mind.
"R..Roual.."
In his mind, they were superior beings and humans were nothing but mere food that lived surely to quench their thirst for blood.
Leon tilted his head in confusion hearing the random bubbling.
BANG!
Summoning his strength, he lunged forward and landed right on Terpas cut head. Even though his head had been cut into two, he still managed to speak.
If it were humans, they would have already gone to the netherland to see their ancestors.
"Stop struggling and die. I don't care if you are royalty or not."
BAAAM!
The head was crushed and exposed into pieces under Leon's stomp. Bones and pieces of flesh shot around.
Leon shook his feet, crushing the slimy squishy substance into nothingness but he didn't stop and kept on stomping it.
BANG!BANG!BANG!BANG!BANG!BANG!
[You have gained 1000 KP.]
After several attempts, Leon finally managed to kill the Martial Lord Vampire.
Leon finally stopped his motion when he saw the system notification but to his dismay, he found the blood and pieces of flesh still quivering."I can't imagine how humans managed to avert the Vampire if they attacked with their army."
Dragging his tired body, Leon walked towards Fenh Ruoxi who leaned against the trunk of an uprooted tree with a pale face.
"Is it over?"
"Yes!"
"Sure?"Feng Ruoxi glanced at Leon skeptically.
"100%" Leon answered with a smile and took out a greenish potion.
"Is it a healing potion?"Feng Ruoxi raised her brows.
"Yes!? Don't you have any?''Leon asked back, seeing Feng Ruoxi shake his head.
"They are fairly expensive and their efficiency decreases on a higher realm."
"Hmmm!"Leon rubbed his falling into deep thought.
In the magic world, the potion heals health to the max but here, it can only heal a part of it. He was able to recover fully when he took the potion at the Martial Disciple realm but at the Grandmaster realm, he was only able to restore half of the health. As per the price, Sophia just gave it to him freely saying that she had a huge stock on the verge of expiry so he just accepted the stock.
"Did Goro escape?"Leon asked, taking a sip of the vial.
"Yeah, that bastard escaped as the opportunity arose. You, men, can never be trusted."
Leon ignored her rambling as she was partly true and even if he said he wasn't like that, she would just keep snitching.
Leon, who just swallowed a part of the potion, suddenly froze with his eyes widened.
Feng Ruoxi frowned seeing Leon's face and the very next second, her heart leaped out from her throat as she saw the shadow of an obscure face and crimson near Leon's shoulder that grinned seductively.
"You are partly right girl. Whether it's a man or woman, most people can never be trusted."
Leon's heartbeat quickened and his palms grew slick with sweat as he saw fear in Feng Ruoxi's emotions after hearing the mischievous voice.
He had hardly taken a few gulps when a frightening presence sent goosebumps racing through his back.
Sadly, he had no time to rest or waste so summoning Exitus, Leon turned abruptly swinging with all its might with an exceptional speed that almost made the muscles on his arms burst out.
SWOOSH!
A pressurized arc of the sword arc cut through space, tearing apart everything in its part.
Leon then blinked a couple of times finding no one and this escalated his heartbeat more.
"MY!MY!Is this how you treat your helper? I mean I lend a hand in catching your teammate who ran away."
Feng Ruoxi and Leon turned toward the nearby tree where they saw a woman in a long crimson dress sitting on the branch leisurely folding her legs while holding a decapitated head.
"There is another one," Feng Ruoxi muttered, sucking in cold air, and then looked at Leon who just seemed to be frozen.
Leon wanted to speak but his body froze from a tangible fear. A deep sense of dread crept up like a rising tide as he saw the string of letters floating over her.
Name:Seraphina Nightshade
Age:2903
Realm:Martial King(???)
Leon couldn't help but gasp seeing this. Even if he could ignore the huge age, the question mark on the realm almost blew his mind.
It means she was above the realm of Martial Ancestors.
"Feng Ruoxi..."
Feng Ruoxi shivered to hear the trembling voice and blurted out subconsciously"What?"
"Ru..."
Leon's lips hadn't even fallen when Seraphina who sat on the branch nearby went missing and as they looked around, they screeched in horror as the woman stood between him and Feng Ruoxi casting a benevolent smile.
"Run...where?"
