Chapter 103 Let The Training Begin
Chapter 103 Let The Training Begin
A small green fury-like fox creature was in front of Lucas's eyes. Its pink diamond shone brightly. It was like a fairy who came from another world. Its fluffy tale tail twitched slowly with every move.
"Peri!" What are you doing here?" Lucas asked, *pur* *pur* this cutie was just staring at Lucas's face.
"Right, you can't speak!" Lucas for a moment forgot that not every creature is here like Kali and Renexa, "haven't seen you for so long, I even forgot you existed!"
The little monster jumped on Lucas's lap and nuzzled against Lucas's chest.
"Peri, I'm so sorry for forgetting about you..." Lucas said while slowly trying to pet its head. The creature was a size of a fox, and it was cute forgetting the fact that it can open its mouth like a demon sometimes.
It was soft and fluky, but it also felt sharp and dangerous.
Peri allowed Lucas to touch its fur, it actually liked being petted. The little thing would start purring if Lucas scratched the right spot.
"Lucas? Are you okay?"
Lucas suddenly heard someone calling out to him. He looked up and saw another familiar face. A beautiful girl with silver hair. She wore a black robe, which was decorated with a golden gauntlet. "Kali!"
"Lucas!" Kali smiled happily.
"Why are you here?" Lucas asked.
Kali shook her head, "I'm just here to say hello, but I see Peri found you first!" She chuckled, "but it's good to see you again, Lucas!"
"So you're here to say hello too, huh?" Lucas asked.
"Of course, I couldn't miss this chance to talk with my friend!"Her expression changed from happy to sad, "but I won't be able to stay long," she said sadly.
"Why?" Lucas asked.
"You've already finished the first volume of the Book of Prophecy, right?" Kali asked.
"Yes," Lucas answered.
"Then you must have realized that the Book of Prophecy is incomplete," Kali sighed.
"Yeah, I did realize that," Lucas nodded.
"But, it doesn't matter. You don't need to worry about it anymore. You'll find your answer soon enough, that's why you shouldn't pay attention to the Book of Prophecy," Kali told Lucas.
"Huh?" Lucas tilted his head.
"The Book of Prophecy is just a tool that teaches us to control ourselves. It's a book that helps us prepare for our future battles. That's why the gods created such an important book so that people like us can survive," Kali explained.
"So what should I do now?" Lucas asked.
"At the beginning, you'll be thinking that it's unfair to be given a task like that. But as you continue to read, you'll understand the truth behind the prophecy," Kali said, "okay now, see you later!"
Just like that, Kali disappeared.

Lucas continued to read the Book of Prophecy. He opened the second volume and started reading. After finishing one whole volume, he felt like he could finally sleep. *pur* *pur* Peri was still sitting on his lap not letting him go.
*knock* *knock*
Lucas was startled. He didn't hear anyone knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Lucas called out.
"Luu, it's me." Lucas recognized the voice, "are you awake?"
"Yes, I'm here!"
"How are you feeling?" Luu asked.
"I feel fine," Lucas said, "can I sleep now?"
The master let a sigh, putting his hands in his pockets and having a wicked smile on his face said, "no, it's time to train the avatar."
"Really?" Lucas asked, "what kind of training is it?"
"You'll know soon enough, okay?" Luu said cheerfully.
Lucas got off the bed and walked towards the door, Peri gently jumped off him and followed Lucas to the outside.
"Welcome to the temple!" Luu greeted Lucas.
"What is this place?" Lucas asked curiously.
"This is where we train to become stronger," Luu answered.
Lucas looked around the area, seeing a few students walking around in different directions. They all seemed to be looking at Lucas.
"Hey! Why does everyone stare at me?" Lucas asked, but no one answered.
"They're just curious," Luu said, "you're the protagonist," Luu added.
"Don't tell me they think I'm a god or something?" Lucas raised his eyebrows.
"No, just someone who is supposed to survive the calamity. Everyone thinks that you will be the saviour of humanity and that you will defeat the Dark Wizard"
Lucas sighed, "I don't want to be someone who saves the world. I just want to go back where I came from and help my sister heal..." Lucas said.
"We understand how you feel," Luu said.
"Do you really?" Lucas asked.
"Yes, we do," Luu said.
Lucas stopped and turned around to look at Luu, "do you guys hate me?"
"Not at all!" Luu answered.
"Then why is everyone staring at me?" Lucas asked.
"Because you are special. We call you the Chosen One," Luu explained, "and because you have this little friend beside you," he pointed at Peri with his thumb.
"Peri is very cute," Luu said, "but it's also strong. Peri has helped you reach this stage."
"So you guys believe that I am the hero?" Lucas asked, "then why do you need me to fight the Dark Wizard?"
"That's simple," Luu said, "it's because you are the last hope."
Lucas frowned, "last hope? Is there actually anything wrong happening to the world?"
"Nothing really," Luu answered, "we just thought that a hero who can lead us to victory would be nice."
"And I suppose I was chosen by the gods to be the saviour?" Lucas asked.
"Well... yes," Luu answered.
"Why do you need me then?" Lucas asked.
"It's because you are the only one who can defeat the Dark Wizard," Luu said.
"Really?" Lucas asked, "if that's true, then why haven't the gods come down here to save us?"
"We've been waiting for them to arrive," Luu said, "they promised to come and save humanity but they never showed up until now."
"So if it's not the gods, then what is it?" Lucas asked.
"You probably already know," Luu said.
"Know what?" Lucas asked.
"You are the hero of this story. The only person who has the ability to beat the Dark Wizard," Luu said.
