Chapter 14 There's A Way
Chapter 14 There's A Way
Lucas' vision blurred, the blood rushed to his head, his ears rang.
The urge to hurt this old man was the only thing that came to Lucas's mind at the moment. His teeth began to ache from the pressure of his clenched jaw. "You son of a bitch!" His voice was hoarse.
"Lucas!" Kali interrupted.
She didn't want him to get into any more trouble, because she felt that was enough for both of them.
"My goodness..." The old man looked up at Kali. "At least one of you has a brain." He added and stood up.
This statement made Lucas even more upset, first the system and now this old man was acting all cocky and arrogant, he was fed up.
Lucas' muscles tensed and forced his eyes to pulse as well. "I'm going to kill you!" His eyes changed from the colour red to blue and made him look like a completely different person.
He stood up and was about to reach out to the old man who was standing there with a stupid-looking smile on his face, but then he heard the system come up again,-
[System activated.]
[Avatar No.302]
[Freeze.]
Lucas' body stopped moving against his will. It felt like he'd stopped in time, but he saw the old man grinning. "You fucking demm..."
*bbzzzzz*
An electric energy ran through his body, causing a sharp pain in his brain.
[Follow the rules.]
The system spoke again.
*bbbzzz*
By giving him another electric shock.
He began to shake as the electricity flowed through his body without any obstruction. A tingling sensation felt like it was piercing every corner of his body. 'Damn it!' He gritted his teeth in pain.
Lucas experienced a violent spasm as his muscles were stimulated by the electricity. This sudden electric shock affected his nervous system and Lucas felt numbness in his legs.
Then, after a few seconds, it stopped.
Lucas felt on the ground like a fish pulled out of the sea. His body bounced a little, but he didn't say a single word.
"What did you do to him?" Kali's eyes widened as she saw Lucas being shaken by something inside his body.
"It wasn't me, it was the system." Retorted Master Wen.
"The System?" She looked up in the air to see if she could make anything out, but even her dragon eyes could see nothing.
"You can't see the system." He said and looked down at Lucas.
Lucas' body stopped shaking and just lay there, like a dead tree stripped of its roots.
"Well, I hope that will be a lesson to you, we're on the same team." He averted his eyes. "The system tells me that I should be the one to teach you the martial arts, but it's not time for you to shine yet."
"The system told you that?" Kali held her breath as her eyes widened.
This was another surprise to her, "why didn't he say something like that before?" her gaze roamed, she felt sorry for Lucas who was just lying on the floor looking like a warm.
His eyes were squinted tightly shut and not moving, he looked more like a mummified mummy than a human being in Kali's eyes.
The system will tell you everything if you know how to listen and follow it." Master Wen lightly nudged Lucas' body with his foot, not to hurt him but to see if he was all right?
"Please don't touch me." Lucas' voice sounded like it was going to break, he was fed up with this place and this pathetic and unbearable situation.
"Can the system take us back home?" Kali asked him again.
"It could, if this cocky thing followed the rules we could all return home." He squeezed Lucas' body one more time.
'Lucas?' What does Lucas have to do with them all going back home? His sentence went through Kali's mind again.
"Why Lucas?" She asked aloud.
"Because he's the Izek of this story, the main protagonist who was abandoned by his parents." He sighed and said nothing more.
'Izek?' Kali wondered, then suddenly a memory of her first day came to mind. 'izek3000' was Lucas' avatar when they arrived here.
"Wait, does that mean Lucas' avatar has something to do with this?" She spoke up.
"Please stop talking nonsense, I've already told you several times that my name is Lucas, not Izek." Lucas interrupted them both. He was still in the position of the dead mummy, but his voice was sharp and loud, almost as if he wanted to insult Master Wen.
"And I repeat myself again, the longer you deny yourself, the longer we'll all be stuck here." He took his foot off Luca's body.
"You know what? Fuck it, let's follow the rules and see where that gets us?" Lucas' tone was sarcastic, he was done with everything and just wanted to go back to his family and get Kali out of here.
"Lucas..." Kali paused.
"It's okay, it's not like we're going to get out of here the easy way, I could just try." He faked his statement.
He knew they'd zero chance of getting out of here, and what kind of wizard was this anyway, who'd sent them here, 'who's this Izek guy?' That was the most interesting thing for him at the moment.
Getting out of here, making Kali a full human being again and never thinking about this place was his priority for now.
"Let's do it." There was a sarcastic tone in his voice, but neither Kali nor Master Wen could notice him as he was just lying on the floor, his body weighed down by shock.
"Lucas, are you sure you want to do this?" Kali asked him one more time to confirm it.
"Fuxk it, let's do it." He nodded.
[System activated.]
[Avatar accepted.]
[New mission.]
[Go to the city of Elves and retrieve a green gem]
[Goodbye.]
"Another gem?" Kali leaned her big, scaly head to one side, "Why another gemstone when we haven't found the first one?
"Oh, great, another gem," Lucas rolled his eyes and repeated Kali's sentence.
[System activated.]
[Avatar #303]
[Skills: Fire and Flying]
[Power: 1000]
[Energy: 1000]
Destruction: 1000]
[The Avatar: A Dragon]
[Goodbye]
"Oooo, I got my power back!" Kali jumped excitedly in the air, causing the ground to shake and Lucas' body to move a little.
"Kali..." He gritted his teeth as another sharp electric pain ran through his brain.
[System activated, Avatar #302.]
[Force: 20]
[Energy: 30]
[Destruction: 3]
[The Avatar: Izek3000]
[Goodbye.]
The system was done with the announcement and Kali suddenly asked a question.
"If Lucas is Izek, why does his avatar have the number 3000 at the end?" She turned her gaze to Master Wen, thinking that he might've the answer.
"Because the first name is already taken, I told you the system already had that player before." He sighed.
Kali was quick to ask him another question, "What happened to the player?"
"He died." Master Wen's reply was quick.
