Chapter 65 The Castle Of Lya
Chapter 65 The Castle Of Lya
Eyes widen as they view the massive black castle, surrounded by many white trees. The trees looked like they had no roots in them, they were placed there for growth. Like something you would see in video games or cartoons. They are not realistic, they are more pixel-like, again.
Lucas drew a breath as he saw that vision, there was a small part of him that wanted to giggle once more, thinking back on that conversation with Kali. A quick thought passed through his mind as he realized Kali was once again in her dragon form, 'hopefully, she is feeling well,' closing his eyes, holding tightly onto her scales as she moved her body slightly sideways.
"I cannot believe that we are back, Haia whispered to herself, loudly, "Neither can I..." replied Xina, hearing her words.
The place was dark, it seemed moody. Just by how this castle looked, Lucas had an awful feeling, was it okay that we were going to keep the boys there?
"Haya, is this place safe for us?" He glanced at him.
Haya was carefully trying to stand up on his feet, and get ready for a big jump.
They soon will land, and no more flying on Kali's back.
Lucas was getting used to flying, it was his third time riding on Kali's back, 'we need to do something about this though,' he thought that he needed to find something more comfortable to hold onto when they will have to use Kali's power again.
"Get ready, wohhooo!" Xina jumped off Kali's back.
The adrenaline and excitement the elf felt when she was flying with her hands straightened in the air, "it's just like back home!" She closed her eyes to enjoy herself a little bit more.
The castle was made from black bricks, looked mighty, and showed no signs of being weak and crumbling. For a short time, Lucas thought of a monster that was nowhere to be found, 'I wondered if he would be strong?'
The castle had no dents and seemed destroyed in any way, 'did the monster live here, too?' Lucas squished his eyes against the breeze that was coming in his face.
Haya shouted at Lucas as he ran over Kali's tail. He whispered, turning towards Kalaini, who was nowhere to be seen even on Kalis's back, 'well, it must be interesting... '
After seeing how much fun his friends were having flying, Lucas wanted to give it a shot too, to see if flying was something that could be done, 'and what would the worst things happen?' He bit his lip as he took more breaths. "That is all, I am coming..." he spoke quietly.
"Weeeeaah!" He inhaled more air as he jumped.
His blood pressure rose enough to cause a thumping pulse in his body. His senses heightened as he felt the strength growing, "this is so fucking cool!" He shouted, "wooohooo!" A very bright smile appeared on his face.
After a couple of seconds he had landed on his feet next to Haya and Kalaini, Xina was more forward facing a guard of the castle.
This guard who was more like a merchant had one knife with him, wearing shabby and dirty brown clothes, he was pointing at Xina.
"We're here to see Lya, let us in," Xina covered her face with her hand.
The situation looked repeatable to Lucas, a similar thing had happened to them when they were in the city of Elves, "it's like daja vu..." He murmured to himself, "did you say something?" Haya interrupted him.
"No, it just reminded me of the situation in the city of elves, and that's it," Lucas scratched his cheek.
*Tuumn*
Kali landed on the ground as well, flapping her wings to the front and back, she realised that she needed to stop doing so, as the wind she was making was distracting everyone here right now.
"She looks happy," Haya smirked.
"Happy? How can you tell if a dragon is happy, Haya?" Lucas frowned his forehead and stepped a little to the side.
Giving Haya his own personal space, he asked again, "do you have that power to know if someone is happy perhaps?" He leaned a little bit while he whispered.
"No, but it's obvious, look at her..."
Lucas turned back to look at Kali, and seeing her lifting her wings the corners of his lips had lifted, "you're right, she looks happy," he turned to Xina.
The situation didn't look very well to him right now, "what if the guard won't let us in, Haya?"
"It's four of us and a dragon, do you think he would have a chance?" Kalaini interrupted their talk.
Her chin was lifted and she had a stupid smirk on her face, to Lucas she looked confident enough to defeat this man by herself, 'she might be right, I should believe in her words.' He thought.
After a couple of seconds, Xina waved her hand showing them to follow her, the man walked to the side and opened the black wooden gates that were made of two doors.
"Wow, it is like in video games," Lucas's eyes widened a little as his jaw dropped.
Once the gate was open, he realised that everything inside was more beautiful than from the outside, 'if everything looks so fancy here, why would that person wear shabby clothes?' A thought went through his mind.
"This will be fun," Haya stretched his arms and his neck as if he was ready to fight, "wait a minute, Haya, what is happening?" Lucas asked aloud a little confused.
"You soon will notice something funny, but don't worry, it will be entertaining," Haya spoke softly.
His muscular and manly voice was deep, and sometimes it sounded really cool to Lucas, as he still had his young--teenage voice.
He wanted to grow up, so he could look more mature in front of people, and girls would look at him more seriously with a deeper voice, 'soon, soon...' He closed his eyes for a second but then heard a loud noise.
It sounded like something was breaking somewhere.
He immediately lifted his eyelashes, "what the fuck is this?" He shook his head to the sides.
"Yeah, you should be more careful from now on, and watch your steps," Haya pushed his shoulders to the front and back, "just follow us," he spoke again.
The entrance was dark, but sparkly at the same time. It looked clean and welcoming to people, but the characters that were misbehaving here looked annoying to Lucas.
There was a tavern right when you enter the castle, 'why would they have that here?' He wondered as he followed their steps of theirs.
Broken wooden chairs in the middle of the road, a nasty smell that was reeking of alcohol and chubby, bald men swearing at each other, "wow, it's almost like back home," Lucas lifted his eyebrows.
"Don't worry, if you won't stare at them they won't do anything to you," Kalaini spoke calmly.
It was strange to Lucas how could Xina and Kalaini not talk to each other at all, after their physical fight not a single one of them spoke a word to each other, and when they left their safe house Xina was way too quite for her type of character.
'Who am I to judge?' He moved his shoulders a little.
Instead of observing the road filled with drunken people, he looked back to see where Kali was, and she was not with them, "Haya..." Lucas wanted to ask him why was Kali not following them, but was immediately stopped when he saw Haya looking at his small sack.
"Are you searching for something?"
"No, I was just checking how the boy was doing?" He replied to Lucas's question without even facing him.
Haya's shiny, blond hair was something girls would wish to get in Lucas's world.
It looked healthy and sparkly in front of the sun, "Haya, about Kali..." Lucas paused again.
"She can't enter now, we need Lya to give permission to do so first," Haya lifted his head and followed Kalaini's steps.
"Permission...?" Lucas whispered as he felt something sticking to his feet.
He looked down and saw a pink gum-looking slime climbing on his shoes now, "the fuck?" He immediately began to shake the creature off him.
"What the fuck is this?" Lucas moved his leg to the sides, up and down, whirling his hands in the air helping him keep his balance.
"Don't move, the more you move the more this creature will try to attack you!" Xina started to walk towards Lucas.
Placing her hand behind her back the pulled out her bow, small white sparkles appeared in her hand and an arrow was shaped for her to shoot at Lucas, "stand still, I will help you to get rid of it!" She spoke while aiming at Lucas's boots.
"Oi, what? No, don't shoot me!" Lucas's heartbeat increased as he saw Xina about to shoot him.
He saw her doing that before, and it looked scary how could she kill someone immediately with just one arrow of hers? He knew they were magic, and had special powers, but that still scared him.
"Please, it's Lya's servant, we have to kill it," Kalaini spoke checking her nails as if it wasn't anything dangerous at all.
"Wait, aren't we here to help Lya?"
