Chapter 79 This Domain Is For What?
Chapter 79 This Domain Is For What?
Lya watched the scene in front of her with fear and horror.
She remembered seeing Xina's body engulfed in flames. This was the third time that Lya witnessed someone dying before her eyes and she couldn't believe that this was happening to Xina.
"How could you do this to her?" Lya stood up.
"I'm just showing you all I can do," Izek replied.
"You bastard!" Lya roared as she ran towards Izek.
"Get away from me!" Izek stood up and waved his hand to stop Lya.
[Ping]
[I see you don't learn]
The system announced its existence.
"My old friend...." Izek spoke slowly.
[We don't need to speak anymore, Izek]
The system replied.
"Is that so?" Izek looked at the screen and smiled, "you're finally listening to me."
[I am.]
The system confirmed.
"Good." Izek sighed.
"Izek!" Lya shouted as she ran towards Haya.
"Haya...!" She screamed when she saw how badly injured her friend was.
"I'm fine, Lya. I have been taking care of myself since the day I was born." Haya tried to smile.
"No..." Lya sobbed.
"I was hoping that you would be happy." Haya smiled again.
"I'm sorry I doubted you." Lya bowed her head.
Haya placed his hand on her forehead. His fingers felt like ice against Lya's skin, "it's alright. I shouldn't have forced you to come here."
"I'm sorry." Lya wiped her tears.
"Don't worry about it. At least you're safe now." Haya smiled again.
"I was never worried for my own safety, but yours..." Lya sighed.
"Thank you." He closed his eyes.
An annoying female sound filled the air. It was the same voice from before like the three lying on the ground dead women one.
"Aahahaha, what a fool! Killed his own teammates and made everything easier for me!" The voice mocked Izek.
Lya's eyes widened. She got up and started running.
"Stop her!" Izek ordered the dead snake.
The snake quickly wrapped itself around Lya's waist and lifted her off the ground.
"Let go of me!" Lya struggled to free herself from the snake's grip.
"Now that you have finally shown yourself, let me tell you something..." Izek spoke to the feminine voice in the sky.
"I shall murder you and that little butterfly over there," the female voice replied.
The atmosphere became tenser and for a minute everyone held their breath.
Izek lifted his hands up and pointed them downwards. A large black hole appeared in the middle of the clearing. Everyone stared at the new opening.
"You really think that you can defeat me? Hahaha, very well." Izek laughed. "But first, how about you show yourself before me?"
Izek's eyes closed as he began chanting.
"This is your last chance." The female voice taunted Izek.
Izek opened his eyes again. He looked at Lya and smiled, "this is the end."
Izek moved his hands down. The hole grew larger and larger until it swallowed up Lya, Haya, Xina, and the dead snakes.
Lya's scream echoed through the clearing. She fell into darkness.
"Are you awake?" Xina spoke to her softly.
"Wha-what is happening?" Lya looked at alive Xina's body and then turned to the side to see Haya removing the dust from his gown, "I don't understand..."
"I know what happened." Xina smiled.
"How did you survive?" Lya asked.
"Aaah, I was almost killed by Izek," Haya revealed.
"I told you not to get close to him," Xina said with anger.
"Haya..." Lya's eyes widened and she covered her mouth, "oh no..." she looked through the hole that had a view of the forest where they had just been to a second ago.
"What is wrong?" Xina asked.
"Where are the others?" Lya asked as she stared through the hole.
"They're fine. Izek brought them here," Haya answered, "apparently, this was all Izek's plan from the beginning..." He inhaled more air and added, "he used hypnosis stolen from Kali to create an illusion just to barge that woman out of her domain, now the real show must start." He raised an eyebrow and bit his cheek.
Not disappointed, but impressed with Izek's scheming, "you will forever be one move before us..."
"What do you mean?" asked Lya as she tried to stand up on her feet.
"He wanted this place to become his hideout." Haya smiled and looked at the black sky surrounding them, "In fact, even his clothes are different from what I saw of him earlier."
"That's right!" Xina nodded.
"I think that was actually his true form," Lya whispered.
"Oh yeah!" Haya remembered something else. "At the time, he said that his master was a powerful sorceress who mastered the art of illusion, I remember when we fought, Izek wasn't the Izek that I knew..."
All three stood there and looked at the window that was made for them to see through, the snake was there too. It was still watching them and breathing hard.
Suddenly, the snake's head dropped forward onto its body. They all gasped in unison.
"It died, didn't it?" Haya sighed.
"Yes, it has given up its," Xina agreed.
"Why would it do that?"
"To tell us that we shouldn't move, or the same fate will await us all," replied Haya.
The snake slowly rose back up to the surface and disappeared. They all watched it vanish into a thin air.
"So, what do we do now?" Xina asked.
"Now we wait for Izek to finish his business here and when Lucas is back, we summon the system for the questioning," Haya answered their question when his eyes were fully focused on Izek outside of the dark domain they were in.
"Lucas?" Xina asked.
"Yeah, he should be coming back soon," Haya answered.
Lya thought of Lucas and his words about the system.
"You think that we could do it?"
Haya shook his head and took a deep breath. "I don't know." He exhaled. "But I know that if we do, we'll never forgive ourselves."
Lya thought about it. The only thing that came to her mind was guilt.
"Guilt?" Haya questioned.
"Yes, I'm sure that after summoning the system, we'll feel guilty for using it against someone who probably doesn't deserve it."
"You might be right," answered Haya completely focused on Izek's strategy, "what will you do now? How will you fight it?"
