Eye of the Void has reached maxed level for [ Stage 1 ]

Eye of the Void has not reached the requirements for [ Stage 2 ]

I wonder what I need for it to reach evolution… Level one-hundred is my guess. Astrid shook her head and gazed at the other System messages.

Major Image has reached maxed level for [ Stage 2 ]

Requirements met for Major Image [ Stage 3 ]

Evolving Major Image to [ Stage 3 ]

Minor illusion: Create a minor illusion with your Psychic energy. Please note enemies with high intelligence or wisdom can see through illusions. [ Stage 1 ]

| [ Stage 2 ] Major image: Thanks to your experience and hard work with the experimentation of Minor Illusion, you can now create life-like illusions. Footsteps, breath, and emotions are just the beginning. Once interacted with, the illusion will shatter. Illusions such as mist will remain.

| [ Stage 3 ] Void Clones: With your evolution to Voidmare, your illusions have undergone a mutation. Your Void Clones are a conduit of your body. Connect to them and use them as another set of arms. Damage is reduced by 50%. Clones of yourself will no longer shatter upon touch, instead they have 1 Constitution, but become more durable when channelling mana.

Hell yes! Astrid trembled in excitement. She could just imagine hundreds of herself all running around causing chaos, although the one Constitution obviously meant that they would be shattered upon contact, despite what the description said.

She was also curious how strong she could make the clone by channelling her psychic mana into it. If she focused all her attention on only one of the clones, could she make it a tank, for instance? Or was it limited to her Intelligence Level and it could only reach the Constitution of her current Int Stat.

Looking around and noticing it was safe, and no longer were the walls rumbling–forcing her to move, she decided to quickly test out the new Stage 3 Skill.

With Void Clones in mind, a one-to-one image of herself spawned in front of her. Using the Skill, roughly ten percent of her current mana was expelled, which severely limited her imagination of hundreds of them running around. Well, the future was unknown.

First, Astrid connected with the clone's mind, and it was as if she was simply looking out of another set of eyes while still having an awareness of her current body. It was just like using Eye of the Void, just less straightforward as the clone just felt like she had split her body in two. Even the mana container, and brain waves felt eerily similar.

Waving her hand, the clone waved back. Astrid sauntered forward and poked the cheek of the Void-Clone Astrid. The flesh was as real as her own. It was then that she realised the wound covering the entirety of the clone's face.

Oh shit. Astrid glanced her finger across her face and winced at the deep cut. Quickly taking out a health potion, she swallowed the contents and felt the heat–and the itchiness took place as it visibly healed her wounds.

She had a front row seat as the wound on her face healed over. Rubbing her shoulders, the already non existent pain vanished. It seemed like altering the pain within her mind wasn’t always a good thing. If her control reached a certain point, she would be able to feel anything. If that was the case, it wouldn’t be long before she bled out without her even realising it.

Although the new upgraded Skill was worthy of celebration, Astrid sighed. It was yet another Skill that she had to experiment with when she had no time to do so.

Astrid moved onto the other Skill, that was only one of two after all.

Mind Domination has reached maxed level for [ Stage 2 ]

Requirements met for Mind Domination [ Stage 3 ]

Evolving Mind Domination to [ Stage 3 ]

Mind Domain: From undergoing mind domain attacks, you have learnt to form your own. Enter your opponent's mind and battle them within the mind domain. Only works on lifeforms with intelligence. Those with higher intelligence, Mind Domain will not work and you will receive mental backlash.

| 25% increased Psychic power within a Mind Domain.

| Psychokinesis, and Psych Warp are 50% stronger within Mind Domain.

| [ Stage 2 ] Mind Domination: 50% increased psychic power within a Mind Domain. Psychokinesis, and Psych Warp are 100% stronger within Mind Domain. Has a higher chance of success against higher intelligence beings.

| [ Stage 3 ] Mind Monarch: 100% increased psychic power within a Mind Domain. Psychokinesis, and Psych Warp are 150% stronger within Mind Domain. Has an even higher chance of success against higher intelligence beings.

Mind Monarch, such an awesome name. Astrid grinned, while the clone copied her.

Thankfully there wasn’t much to test with the Mind Domain Stage 3 evolution as it was just a straightforward damage boost. Which she wouldn’t complain about. If she had the Stage 3 variation - Mind Monarch, then she wondered if her battle with that mysterious psychic would have gone differently?

Probably not, but she could hope.

And that brought her to the psychic monster. What was it, where was it, and how did it know when they would receive a dungeon prompt to be able to mess with their mind.

With the dungeons being a recent addition to the world, it seemed unlikely that it was a monster of Ruitera. The sudden realisation caused Astrid to take a step back and frown. That meant… the monster, or whatever it was, was familiar with the System.

Maybe it was from the inside of a dungeon?

At first Astrid believed the monster to be within the bubbled town that they entered the dungeon from, but she felt that wasn’t right. She wasn’t sure why, but it felt like its main body wasn’t there, at least.

Astrid could only guess that it had something to do with the psychic connection she had encountered within the Mind Domain.

Astrid rustled her already messy hair. Everything is so annoying. Why can’t everything just be a melee fight? Lamenting, it was time to make a move. Not because she wanted to, but the walls began vibrating.

Alright, I’ll get a move on… damned tree king thing. Astrid spat and approached the huge doors in wonder. If this was all a creation from the tree king, then it was truly amazing the feats it could accomplish. It did leave a sour taste in her mouth considering it was her enemy right now, but still, it was amazing what one could accomplish with enough time, and strength.

Pressing her hand up against the cold, smooth roots, the doors groaned open. Dust and dirt fell from the ceiling as the roots vanished within the walls.

Before even taking a step forward, Astrid gazed up at a truly enormous humanoid monster in the middle of a wide expansive… battlefield.

Level ??? - Tree Ent War Guardian

It resembled that of an ent warrior, but it had huge antlers adorned to its hardened skull. It also didn’t have a weapon. Instead, the monster had ten sets of spikes emerging from each knuckle. The streamlined armour around its body was half metal, half tree-bark. It was unknown if it was the tree kings doing, or if it was the original armour as they both seemed to blend perfectly together.

Maybe I should find another way. Astrid chuckled as she felt the strength radiating from the humanoid monster.

A loud crash behind her caused Astrid’s shoulders to jump. Glancing back, the stalactites that had long formed on the ceiling of the cavern, broke off and slammed into the ground. After that, the entire ceiling began collapsing. The walls caved in as it sent pink pollen surging around the cave like a candy cloud.

There goes that idea… Turning back around with a wry smile, Astrid had no other way but forward. One step after the last, she walked into the room.

There was no fear. Only a slight anxiousness, and a bubbling excitement that seemed to course around her veins. It felt like it was going to be a tough battle.

Bellona smashed her fist through the last of the jumping insects. Her attack had entirely pulverised the monster's heart. Grabbing it by the throat, she pushed it off her arm and let go. It slumped down to the floor, on top of a bunch of others with a wet thud.

Bellona glanced at the young puppy that Astrid had brought along with her. He was drenched in wounds, and blood. Not an inch of his body didn’t have a wound.

She had long thought he would give up, not she wanted him to of course. But she was curious as to why he wanted to tag along, yet she wasn’t interested in an answer. Bellona was only wanting to know his desire through fights of life and death. To see if he was worthy of following Astrid, Freya’s cousin.

A slight smile emerged from her lips as she tossed over a rare health potion.

“Drink it.”

“But–”

Bellona sent an expressionless glance his way before gazing up at the pillar in the sky.

Knowing Astrid, she absolutely was heading to that enormous pillar of light in an attempt at receiving the mission reward. Freya had told her many things about Astrid. But there was one she had always reminded her of.

It was Astrid’s seemingly crazed need for battle.

“Heal up,” Bellona wicked away the blood from her hands. “We’re heading to the party.”
