Chapter 44 The CEO's Runaway Omega And Three Little Buns 22
?Each kid was in their bed, sleeping. The room was a flattering combination of pink, purple and red. He wasn't sure how the interior decorator made it work but the result was quite pleasing.
He walked closer to the beds to see their little figures properly. They looked so innocent, nothing like the little demons they were when awake. If only they had more competent family members who could properly teach them.
"888, do you detect anything yet?"
888 frowned. "Surprisingly, no. No spirit or soul fluctuations, no signs of abnormalities, nothing. It seems calm in here. Too calm in fact.
He Yuan nodded. He was quite disappointed, he had felt he was onto something. He got even closer to the kids and observed them. They each had a ring around their thumbs. The two boys had rings that looked exactly the same, white and plain. The little girl's ring on the other hand, had a flower pattern.
He could still remember when Li Shiyu had explained the origin of the rings to everyone. He had been pregnant and shopping for baby necessities when he stumbled upon the set. He had claimed it was the work of fate.
The ring set was for triplets. Two boys and a girl, exactly what he was expecting and so he wasted no time in buying it. The omega believed it brought luck so the kids never took them off.
888 materialized and cocked his head to the side as he observed the kids alongside He Yuan. "I also want to believe this ring is something special but unfortunately, it is not."
He Yuan blinked at the system. "Are you sure?"
"Hmm. There's also a possibility that the cause of the spiritual stillness in this room is something else and not the rings."
"Do you think I should place a camera in here?"
888 shook his head. "No. It would be too close and they would find it. Let's go, we'd just have to observe them closely."
"How about you follow them around? You're basically invisible to the inhabitants of this realm."
888 laughed. "You really don't know the extent of the system bindings. I can't leave your presence, I can only move between your mind space and the system space. A system that is discovered outside the scope of their host is deemed as rogue and automatically becomes hunted down."
He Yuan's eyes widened. What was this? This was clearly slavery! This was not okay! How could 888 laugh about something like this?! He only nodded at the system and proceeded to walk out of the room.
Once He Yuan left the room, Zhang Di and Zhang Ye's eyes opened. Both boys stared at each other from their beds and smiled.
The next morning, Zhang Jun was released from the station. Even if he did his best to keep the news under wraps, word of the Zhang family using the Zhang conglomerate to whitewash dirty money had already spread all over various media outlets.
This news was not exactly accurate but as Zhang Jun refused audience with the media, citizens were already jumping into conclusions and partners were cutting ties with the Zhang conglomerate. Nobody wanted to be allied with criminals.
The Zhang conglomerate shares plummeted drastically and the board decided to call a meeting. They were too angry to give Zhang Jun any face and called a meeting behind his back. Somehow, Zhang Jun caught wind of this and headed straight to the company from the police station.
"Actions should be taken with haste. If the price of our shares should reduce any further then there would be no-"
Zhang Jun opened the door of the conference room. Cutting off whoever was in the midst of speaking. He glanced throughout the room, his eyes landing on a young alpha in a burgundy suit. He clenched his fists. "This was your idea wasn't it?"
The alpha in question leaned back on his chair and crossed one leg over the other. Next, he proceeded to smile brightly at Zhang Jun. "Mr. Zhang, whatever do you mean?"
Zhang Jun stepped into the room, pinning the board of directors with a furious glare. "For over two generations, the Zhang family had poured their all into this group of companies. Bringing it to new peaks again and again. Filling up your pockets with profits and in the first sign of setback you all turn your backs on us?"
"The first sign of setback?" The alpha in the red suit laughed.
Zhang Jun glared at the man. "Pei. Jing. Whatever problems the company has faced, I have smoothly solved. Now you all are trying to walk all over my head despite my hard work?"
A different director sighed, the man was a close friend of the Zhangs. "Zhang Jun, that exactly is the problem here. Lately, you've been pulling us out of problems. This is a company solely for making profits and yet lately we've been in more scandals than a drug addicted celebrity."
"You seem to have lost your touch," Another one added. "It would be for the best interest of everyone if you took a break from being the CEO."
Zhang Jun laughed. "I should take a break?"
SMACK!
He hit the table angrily. "What right do you have to demand that I take a break? This is the Zhang family company!"
"That was until the company was open to the public and became a limited liability one. At the moment, the company is legally our collective responsibility." Pei Jing said with a smile. "We share both profits and loss, don't you think it's a little unfair to drag us down with your Zhang family?"
Zhang Jun laughed angrily. He looked around the conference room, the board of directors were split into two groups. The people who were allies with the Zhang family and the ones who had been won over by Pei Jing. The only reason he was aware of this meeting was because of the Zhang family allies. Basically, both groups were evenly matched.
In fact, the Zhang family had the upper hand because Li Yexi held 5% shares and he was a son-in-law of the Zhangs. This Pei Jing was living a pipe dream. "I'd like to see how you would outvote me. Do not forget, the Zhang family has the highest shares in this company!"
"Had." Pei Jing corrected with a smirk.
"What do you mean?" Zhang Jun frowned when Pei Jing threw a document on the table. The Zhangs held 30% shares in the company, Pei Jing was able to acquire 30% shares. Another 30% shares was split evenly amongst their allies making them evenly matched.
The tie breaker here were the shares in Li Yexi's possession. Zhang Jun's eyes widened when he saw the details of the document including the names and signatures.
No. Li Yexi wouldn't dare. He wouldn't... He would not. The omega dared!
Zhang Jun's knees weakened and his face was devoid of blood. The directors in attendance cast their votes, making Pei Jing the new CEO of the Zhang conglomerates. At this point, Zhang Jun was operating on auto pilot as he walked out of the company building.
This wasn't happening. This was the Zhang family business. He was meant to be CEO! No one should be able to take that position away from him. This was the same as letting the Pei family take over.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Zhang Jun clenched his fist and hit the hood of his sports car repeatedly. Li. Yexi.
He was going to kill that omega.
