Li XinYun looked over at Li ShiZe who was approaching her. She had no idea why he came to her.

Looking at his sister’s cold expression, Li ShiZe parted his lips and, only after a long while, was he able to squeeze out the words, “I want to see Mom.”

“Then go and see her.” As soon as she had finished saying that, Li XinYun had it figured out. She looked at him seriously and said in a determined tone. “Looks like Mom had your numbers blocked, huh?” That made sense. He had already worn off all of his mother’s love for him.

Li ShiZe frowned. “I will apologist to Mom sincerely once I see her.”

Li XinYun busted out laughing, sounding sarcastic. “Why? What makes you think that your apology is so valuable? We don’t care for that and you can go now.

“And, as a reminder. She is my mother, not yours.”

She could never forget how Li ShiZe had treated them over Jiang YaGe. And now he turned around and wanted to offer his weightless apology? Were they supposed to break down in tears just because of that? He had lost his mind if he thought that!

“Jiang YaGe dump you, right? That tracks. Why would you think of us if she hadn’t dump you already?”

That thought made her sad. Ten years of being a family didn’t measure up to his passion for a few months. How ludicrous was that.

Her face dropped and her tone more severe. “Give it up already. I am not going to bring you in front of Mom to upset her.”

The Li XinYun in Li ShiZe’s mind was outgoing, naïve, and slightly stuck-up. The XinYun now still looked the same as he had remembered her but her temperament had settled down a lot more. Her aura that was very similar to that of Fang Jingyuan exuded from her when he face dropped.

He stared at her intensely. “You are just scared. You are scared that you are not going to be Mom’s one and only if I return. You are worry that someone else will compete with you to become the heir.”

He couldn’t think of any other reasons beside that. He had always been more accomplishing than XinYun since he was a child and had always been the one that she had looked up to. Once he returned, naturally, his mother would no longer consider having XinYun as her heir.

Li XinYun was shocked beyond words and also disappointed at the same time. “We don’t see things eye to eye. I thought perhaps you did regret some for what you have done but, no, you have not changed at all.”

All he talked about what benefits. It never occurred to him the hurt that his actions had brought them. In the end of the day, would he have regretted at all if their mother wasn’t as successful as she was right now?

“Whoever will become the heir of Mom’s company and how she wants them arranged, that’s her business. We do not have the rights to question her. Instead of eyeing what is hers, why don’t you just work on your own accomplishments? I seem to recall that Dad had given you a lot of money when he was alive. That, in addition to what you have saved up over the years, should be more than enough for your startup capital. Don’t tell me that you have spent them all already.”

Seeing how his face had turned darked, Li XinYun had an idea by now. She waved her hand and her voice was cold. “Don’t show up in front of me again or I am going to call the cops and tell them that you are harassing me.”

Now that she had said that, as much as Li ShiZe was reluctant, he finally decided against sticking around and have more insults hailed at him.

He hasn’t given up on his idea of wanting to meet with Fang JunRong. One way or another, he wanted her forgiveness. If he couldn’t make that happen through Li XinYun, perhaps he needed to try a different approach. Perhaps he could try reaching out to Zhong Yi? He looked down on Zhong Yi’s status but this was not the time to worry about that. Zhong Yi was just the adopted daughter and he figured her status at home was very limited. She would, for sure, not turn him down as arrogantly as XinYun did.

He could always offer her some benefits in return.

Nevertheless, he didn’t even have the chance to reach out to Zhong Yi before he had a dream that night. A nightmare that left him soaking in sweat when he woke up.
