Kong Shuang had been traumatized by the fact that she was a third person in a relationship when she was young.

Ever since she had a daughter, she had placed all of her focus on her daughter. She had a few romantic relationships in the past but none of them lasted. She definitely did not have a new boyfriend in the last two years.

The female student was taken aback a little and said what was on her mind reflexively. “Don’t you have a boyfriend that you are about to marry?”

Kong Shuang frowned. “No, there is no such thing.

Kong Shuang quickly figured out that this girl was AnQi’s schoolmate so if she thought that she had a boyfriend, she must have found that out from AnQi. But why would AnQi say such a thing?

Her heart sank but she did not let it show on her. Frowning a little, she appeared to be very bothered. “You are a friend of AnQi, right? She had grown apart from me recently and she wouldn’t tell me anything when I asked. You are her age and I trust that she is more willing to share with you.

“As a mother, I very much would like to know what is on my child’s mind and what has happened to her.”

Being able to have a player like Liang Hua fall in love with her, Kong Shuang was surely up there in looks. And, having played the piano since she was a child, she had a natural elegant temperament. Even at 40 something, she had maintained herself very well and was still a very elegant and attractive woman.

The female student was someone who valued looks a lot and the scale in her mind started to tip. That and seeing how concerned Kong Shuang was for her daughter, she was certain that there had been some misunderstandings between the two of them.

As such, she spilled all the beans on what Liang AnQi had griped about in the past.

Like how Liang AnQi was distressed by the fact that her father only loved her brother and sister and that she was very hurt by it.

Or how Liang AnQi was sad that her mother had ignored her since she had got herself a boyfriend.

And that she started a part-time job because she needed living expenses and did poorly on her examinations because of that and needed to take makeup examinations next semester.

Kong Shuang was about to pass out from what she was hearing. She had only believed in 30% or so of what was in the email but now she believed in it 70%.

Her docile daughter would not have lied left and right and purposefully smeared others behind their back. The thought that some spirit coming out of nowhere had taken over her body brought a lot of hatred to her.

Nevertheless, as angry as she was, the spirit was using her daughter’s body. She must tread carefully so as not to ruin her daughter’s reputation.

She took a deep breath and her voice sounded weak. “AnQi had misunderstood me. I had already broken up with that man.”

“Oh, I see.”

The girl, seeing how AnQi’s mother had traveled thousands of miles to look for her daughter in China, felt that she cared a lot about her daughter and, as such, brought Kong Shuang with her into the dormitory building.

Liang AnQi, on the other hand, was just about to start her streaming. She smiled happily as she looked at the donations that she had received from her viewers from the administrative screen. She turned and said, “C’mon in. The door’s not locked” when she heard the knocking.

She thought the student who was just there had returned. The living arrangements for the exchange students were impeccable and each of them had their own individual rooms. That had allowed her some private space.

When she looked up and saw the fragile woman standing by the door, Liang AnQi’s eyes widened. She mumbled, “Mom, how come you are here?”

She looked uneasy. She never would have imagined that the original owner’s real mother would return to China. She returned to China for multiple reasons: partly because she was not used to living overseas; partly because she wanted to meet Jiang DeXian; and partly because she needed to be away from Kong Shuang.

After all, Kong Shuang and the original owner were close and she would for sure notice that something was off if Liang AnQi was to spend too much time around her.
