Rebirth: Over the Horizon

Chapter 93 - Trial Of Elthron

Chapter 93 - Trial Of Elthron

Though Sankos has now been plunged into civil war, the trial is complete.

A hero was found, guided, and empowered to slay Urgran.

Though the island will have to endure chaos and battle for some time, Adam has still accomplished the appointed task.

As he arrives at the beach with Velara, Danis spots him and asks, "So. Urgran's dead, right?" he glances at Velara, "That means we passed? We're all good?"

As if in answer to his question, golden light floods the square. The Twelve stand before them once more.

Methris, today carved from gleaming obsidian with eyes of blood-red ruby, steps forward.

"Urgran is felled by the hands of a hero. The trial is complete, and the Chosen have proven their worth once more."

"Furthermore, the hero has not only accomplished their task but survived."

"He will be an important leader for the people of this island for some time to come. This will make the lives of the people of Sankos much easier."

Methris turns towards Adam and Velara, "You both do a great contribution in this trial."

"I, methris will give you an artefact you desire."

Without hesitation, Adam steps forward and says, "Add stealth attribute to my rob."

"Oh, That's quite unexpected from you, anyway I fill fulfil your."

As Methris said, a golden light warps his Robe of Dawn and a new window pops up before him.

[Robe of dawn has received Attribute: Darkness]

[Received skill:

»Shadow Walking

»Stealth Stab

»

»

»]

[Due to Robe of dawn was originally a Light-attribute based artificat]

[The cool downtime for the skills have been doubled]

[You will receive the remaining skills as you level up.]

Adam knows that there will be problems but, there is nothing he can do.

Because Robe of Dawn was [Legendary] grade artefact and can add up to three attributes.

Next, Velara received the impossibly sharpened golden blade, which was previously used to slain Urgan.

With that, the God of Smiths vanishes from sight, with rest 10 fade leaving behind ba little golden light, only Elthnorn remains.

"It's pretty simple, really." Elthnorn continues.

"Urgran the Cruel. You remember him, right? Big mean guy? Used to be emperor? Recently dead?"

"That was 1 day ago." Daedala points out. "I'm pretty sure we all remember." She glances sideways at Colosson. "… Pretty sure."

"Just checking." Elthnorn replies. "Anywho, the guy was a bit of a jerk, but he did have nice taste."

"He was a collector. Had a big vault full of bright shiny treasures and priceless artwork."

"I think he even has a piece or two from Edurmon's early days in there somewhere."

"I've been thinking about sprucing my place up a little, so I want you all to steal me some nice pieces from the collection."

"Steal?" Tiara seems a little horrified by the notion. "We just liberated these people from a cruel oppressor."

"Shouldn't we let them have the treasures? They could help them rebuild this place."

"At the very least, it seems like we could just ask for some of the treasure," Qora suggests.

"I mean, we're heroes to them. Or at least trainers and assistants to heroes. It seems like that'd be the simplest solution."

"No, no, no!" Elthnorn leaps down from Utheral's robe, hissing. "I'm not the God of Asking Politely."

"I want to see something clever! A heist! There's no greater challenge than stealing something of impossible value."

"Well, at least we have the general state of disarray working in our favour," Dannis suggests.

"Half the city must still be drunk after our little soiree, and there must still be a few pockets of loyalists fighting the revolutionaries out there."

"Actually, that could make things even harder."

Pergia points out, looking uncharacteristically serious for a moment.

"Protecting those treasures would be one of the few things Urgran's remaining soldiers and the liberators would agree on."

"Besides, I've heard of Urgran's vault. They say it's a maze of impossible traps and unpickable locks, certain death for any thief that would dare attempt a burglary."

A smile stretches across the thief's face. "Sounds like fun."

Elthnorn perks up, chirping approvingly. "That's the spirit!"

"No time like the present." Pergia declares enthusiastically.

"If we're lucky, the guards will still be drunk from the revel."

"Or at least hungover. Should make infiltration a breeze."

The thief's optimism proves to be somewhat unfounded.

Despite the chaos in Sankos and the death of Urgran, the guards are back patrolling the castle in full force today.

Someone must be trying to re-establish order. The Chosen stop a short distance from the main gate to decide on a plan.

Pergia frowns and tugs on his moustache.

"Well? What now?" Qora asks, frowning.

"Looks like I'll have to complete this part of the trial on my own," Pergia says with a cocky smile.

"I'll slip over the walls and create a distraction. Then we'll all be able to get inside and make our way to the vault."

Colosson frowns and shakes his head. "And let the little mortal thief take all the credit for himself? Bah."

"This is a heist, not a battle," Pergia says with a sigh.

"We have to be cautious. Now, I'll be going. Unless someone has a better idea?"

"I'll join you Pergia, in sneaking past the initial defences of the fortress."

A frown forms on the there's the face, but he quickly recovers.

"I am glad that you are coming."

Actually, Adam had no interest in going with this Periga.

But, he wanted to test Elthron, he said that Adam will receive an advantage from him, right?

So, Adam wants to know, what will the God of thief and trickery do, will he support his apostle or Adam?

Hi, readers author here, I have received 18 summoning pens, but you know, I am currently on a tight schedule.

So, I really can't afford to write bonus chapters. When my schedule clears up I will definitely do a mass release.

Sincere apologies from your 16-year-old immature author.

                             Regards,
