Chapter 133: Bai Qinghao Requested For The Marriage
“What do you think?” She blinked and fluttered her eyelashes flirtatiously at him. Her eyes sparkled and seemed to carry their own light. They were as charming as the stars in the night sky, and made for a dazzling sight.
Her eyes were beautiful!
Bai Qinghao was dumbstruck.
He remembered that her eyes had been just as charming when they were young. At the time, he had always been drawn in by that light.
Although her father, Long Yifan, had saved his grandmother, their family backgrounds were incompatible. The Bai and Fang family were worlds apart.
Even though his grandmother owed Long Yifan a debt for her life, she would not use his marriage matters to repay him.
After all, with the Bai family’s influence and power, they had countless options when it came to repaying Long Yifan. There had been absolutely no need to offer a marriage alliance.
He recalled the first time he met Fang Xinxin. At the time, she had been as beautiful as a porcelain doll. He had mistaken her for a moonlight fairy and thought her to be a spirit whom humans only saw on rare occasions.
At the time, he was still a child. After returning home, he had decisively told his grandmother... he wanted Fang Xinxin.
He wanted to reserve this little girl for himself, to grow up with her, and to make sure she would only belong to him for the rest of her life.
He was the Bai family’s only son. He had never requested anything from his family. This was his first and only request.
His grandmother loved and doted on him. She immediately agreed to his request. As a result, Fang Xinxin became his fiancee when they were both children.
He wasn’t sure when it began, but at some point, the light in her eyes faded. Perhaps it was because she gained weight. Perhaps her face had turned swollen, and it prevented her eyes from sparkling.
Or perhaps, it was because she loved Bai Chenxi, and he had forcibly held her back as his fiancée. She grew to become timid and fearful of him, and her eyes became lifeless.
It had been years since he last saw her eyes sparkling in this manner.
Finally, the moonlight fairy in his heart had returned!
Her eyes were shining because of him. They were radiant and charming.
Bai Qinghao took in her gaze and became emotional.
Fang Xinxin lifted her hand and waved it before his eyes. “What’s on your mind?”
He caught her little hand and pressed a kiss against it dotingly. “I’m thinking about you.”
Her cheeks turned rosy. “If you say that, I’ll feel embarrassed...”
“Now, I can tell when your cheeks turn red.” His lips curved into a rare smile.
Even though his cold and frigid aura remained, Fang Xinxin was nearly dazed by the sight. “Bai Qinghao, you’re really really attractive when you smile.” She then recalled his words.
“Wait a minute! What do you mean by that? Are you complaining that my skin is too dark?”
His tone turned heavy. “For the sake of avoiding me, you intentionally tanned yourself into looking like a black mudfish. You thought you were being clever, but it was your skin that suffered the damage. Wasn’t it painful?”
“I...” She gloomily responded, “Who said I was being clever?”
“Your skin was so fair when you were young. No matter how much you’ve darkened it, I know that your skin was originally bright and beautiful.”
“...” She punched his chest with some anger. It was as firm as steel and instead of hurting him, her fists started to ache. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? If you did, I wouldn’t have burnt myself like an idiot.”
“Did you give me the opportunity to speak?”
She fell silent.
All right. In the past, whenever she saw him, she would either run, hide, or raise her voice. She was completely unreceptive to his words.
She had really been idiotic to the point where it left her speechless.
He held her small hand in his firm, large palm. When he saw that her little hand had reddened, he said softly, “Don’t punch my chest anymore. You can’t hurt me with your puny strength. You’re hurting yourself instead.”
