Chapter 548: Man Behind The Secret Organisation
“Miss Fang, I really wasn’t trying to fool you. This isn’t my fault,” Ya Lun explained pitifully.
“Is it my fault, then?”
It was our Boss who refused to let him go. As his second-in-command, there was nothing I could have done. Although he felt extremely bitter about this, his boss had instructed him to shoulder this wrongdoing.
Thus, Ya Lun could only reply. “We’re both not in the wrong.”
Fang Xinxin understood that Ya Lun did not possess any reasons to keep Wang Liangping away from her.
It was likely that someone else had interfered with this matter behind the scenes.
In her previous life, she recalled overhearing Bai Qinghao’s subordinates mentioning the Hei Xiao organisation.
Now that she thought about it, she felt it was likely that the subordinates were reporting Hei Xiao’s matters to Bai Qinghao and carrying out his instructions.
Hei Xiao’s members had a frightening reputation and were famous for only obeying their first-in-command. They were loyal to no other.
In other words, the leader behind Hei Xiao had to be Bai Qinghao!
He must have found out about Fang Shaohua’s feelings for her despite their relationship as adopted siblings.
He tended to become jealous easily. It was possible that he was controlling the matter to prevent Fang Shaohua’s crimes from being investigated. This was because the moment Fang Shaohua was proven to be innocent, Bai Qinghao would gain another love rival.
Bai Qinghao was cold, ruthless and decisive. He rarely changed his mind when it came to the matters he had already decided on.
If she fought with him about this matter, he would only believe that she had very strong feelings for her adopted brother. The consequences would then worsen.
Currently, though her brother’s case was delayed, it seemed like Bai Qinghao was still willing to let go of Wang Liangping. The result was not as bad as it could have been.
Fang Xinxin deliberated over this and decided not to pursue the matter any longer. “Since you’ve caught him, when will you hand him over?”
“I’m abroad right now. I was planning on returning today, but I’m suddenly being pursued for revenge. Give me a few days. After I kill these people, I’ll immediately return to the country and hand him over to you.” Ya Lun lifted his phone and showed her the hotel room he was in. “I can hear their footsteps. They’re on their way here right now!”
Indeed. A moment later, with a loud crash, the hotel room was kicked open. Several men dressed in black suits and masks then rushed into the room, firing their guns at him.
Ya Lun kicked the bed forward to block the bullets and climbed out of the window. He then snuck his way into the room next door. “Miss Fang, they are pursuing me. I’ll have to end the call here. See you when I’m back!”
Fang Xinxin stared at her phone in silence for several seconds.
Given that his life was at stake, she would give him some time.
She could remain patient for several more days.
She glanced at the middle-aged man in the room. “Your second-in-command is being pursued. Aren’t you going to help him?”
“He said that he could handle this alone.”
Fang Xinxin shrugged carelessly and left the unassuming ‘private home’.
She walked down the street and enjoyed the cool breeze.
She had been especially busy for the past few days. Why did it seem like she had forgotten about something?
Oh yes, it was Sun Jiamu.
Based on her memories, Sun Jiamu was supposed to meet a man named Feng Dongkai recently. He would trick her into his bed and force her to have an abortion... a series of misfortune would begin right from her school life.
Sun Jiamu treated her very well. Fang Xinxin refused to allow the same misfortunes to happen to her again in this life.
She immediately sent a voice message to Sun Jiamu:
[My dear, where are you? Why have you been skipping your classes recently? You haven’t contacted me much either.]
Sun Jiamu responded with a phone call. She sounded both apologetic and joyful. “Xinxin, I’m so sorry. I recently fell in love and forgot all about my dear friend. I deserve to die.”
