Chapter 124: Neutral Zone
Chapter 124: Neutral Zone
**********
"W-what did you just say? A demon king?"
The Slayer Agent couldn't contain his shock expression when he heard what the world-hopper told him.
Eclipse continued from his previous statement; "Yes. That's correct. Ardus Syndrome originated from the Cranus Continent where I came from, or more precisely, formerly where I came from. Also, don't you find it odd how come that person suddenly contacted that kind of curse out of nowhere? Especially, in this continent?"
Arico frowned as he thought about it; "But we're in the same worldline, right? I mean, Cranus Continent is just another continent within this worldline, as well as Vertum Continent. I don't see the reason why that curse shouldn't appear here when we are in the same worldline after all."
"You don't get it, do you? Also, You haven't thought about the Vertum Continent and its history and culture, aren't you?"
Eclipse said in frustration as he took a deep breath and explained further.
"As I said earlier, Ardus Syndrome is originated from Cranus Continent and during the ancient period, demons are swarming in that continent and humans fought back to reclaim their lands in the hands of the demons."
Arico; "You sure know about the history of Cranus Continent then. That might be the perks as a former native of this worldline since that information wasn't stored in the System Archive when I got permission to read the contents of this worldline."
"Maybe in the Origin Archive since that's the vast library of knowledge within the universal worldline. However, we will discuss that for the later date and back on the topic on hand."
Eclipse divert back the topic and continued once more; "It wasn't mentioned in the System Archive about the history of Cranus Continent and only some brief description about the world and their culture because of the heroine's point of view but even if that was the case then, she only stated what she knows and nothing else."
'There are many loopholes in that world plot since it's always on the heroine's point of view as how she viewed things on her sight and nothing else.'
The world-hopper thought about it and continued further; "Cranus Continent and Vertum Continent are completely different from each other in terms of empires, power abilities and cultures. For instance, about how they viewed Gods and Demons are totally different from one another."
Arico frowns for a moment and from the looks from it, seems like he finally get a gist about the situation; "Are you talking about the way they worshipped their respective Gods and how their magical abilities works?"
When he said that, Eclipse nodded and added; "Yes. In Cranus Continent, only noble households are the ones who could awakened their bloodline powers that they inherited from their ancestor since bloodline powers were said a blessing coming from the Gods and only those chosen people will be granted the powers to fought back against their enemies."
"Commoners, on the other hand, doesn't have any bloodline powers inherited and were treated as normal citizens. Only a few common people who would have awakened their bloodline powers and normally, they were probably have any noble bloodline running their veins or for most rare cases, they were blessed since then."
Arico; "Like the heroine, for example. From the description, she is totally from a commoner background but awakening a rare bloodline is something that no one would expect from that time."
Eclipse nodded; "Elysian Bloodline isn't an inherited bloodline powers that most noble households had but from what I could tell is that it's more likely that the Goddess choose someone who could awakened that bloodline and nothing else."
"However, in Vertum Continent, there are four powerhouse Empires around since the beginning of their time and from what I have read from the books in those rural libraries back then, each empire in this continent had different races, cultures and powers that you couldn't imagine."
The world-hopper stated and Arico only nodded as he also read some of the histories of this continent as well but not that much.
"Also, don't you find it odd when in those history books stated that the Cliffton Empire is the largest human population across the Vertum Continent?"
Eclipse said that with a frown and Arico remembered those statements as well from those books.
"Don't tell me…. In this continent, there is an Empire full of Demons?"
Although Arico said that as a passing joke but when he saw that Eclipse wasn't smiling at all, Arico gulped nervously because it seemed like he had hit the spot on.
"W-wait a second. S-so, it's true then?"
Arico asked nervously and Eclipse sighed as he said; "Well, those are only in the records, and no one had proven that up until to this day. Also, in this continent, nobles and commoners are both have to awaken their abilities when they reached the age of five or six, although nobles are the ones who had awakened their abilities early on and maybe because of their purity in magic."
"Although nobles tend to awaken their most powerful abilities compared to the commoners but at least in this continent, it seems like there is no room for discrimination, unlike those Gods in the Cranus Continent."
Arico just shrugged off his shoulders and said; "Well, they were petty if that were the case then. Also, I still remember you saying about the Ardus Syndrome that was originally a curse-type disease from the Demon King Hizardus from Cranus Continent. How can you be so sure that it's only the natives of those continents that should be affected and not the people from here?"
"Also, travelers from afar can also enter in this continent so what's would be the problem then if we saw someone here who got affected by the Ardus Syndrome?"
Arico questioned him and Eclipse said something that would make sense of all of it this matter.
"It's because…. At the center of the four powerhouse empires of Vertum Continent, lies a neutral zone area where a Magic Academy established on that place and from the records, the Vertum Continent was barriered with some powerful divine magic that could ward off any malicious demons coming from the outside of the continent."
...…
......…
......…..
"It seems like the auction event would start at any moment. We should pay attention to those bidders and the items they planned to bid on time."
Eclipse said as he looked down from the balcony where they are right now since they were at the VIP room that was given to them by the person-in-charge Frenan from earlier.
Because of the token Eclipse presented, they finally got a decent room for them inside the establishment where the auction event would be held and at the same time, the information they got about their client Gilbert Herrer would be present at this event.
'Just where is that b*stard anyway? I want to end this as soon as possible and move to the next one.'
If it were him, Eclipse would just drop down the item they had collected to the guild and file a request that they won't be delivering the items themselves and would be just pay for the breach of contract since there are times when you couldn't meet the client to bring back the item that was commissioned because of unknown circumstances.
However, this is the first time that Eclipse extended its service to meet the client personally and to "deliver" the item they had collected back at the Valley of the Deep.
'That's because I want some answers from him.'
He felt conflicted as he thought of numerous reasons as for why and how this item appeared in this worldline and not only that, but someone from this world knew about such item.
'Although I stated to myself that I won't be here for too long the moment our system interface had finally fixed and would just leave everything right here, but I think there are still unknown factors that I need to uncover in this world first.'
There are times when he couldn't think straight or what but ever since he had reincarnated back in this world, a lot of things had happened that differs from the previous timeline.
Although most of the time it was his decision and his actions alone, but it seems like there are others who got affected to the little extent that he had done on his side.
Since he believe that it wouldn't affect the main storyline of this world if he just change some things in his end and his previous role as the minor villain would just be replaced by anyone who's available since that role holds nothing significant at all.
'However, it seems like I underestimate myself for thinking that way, but it doesn't make any sense for that kind of change just because of what I did.'
Also, the world-hopper find it odd when his so-called siblings of his suddenly change the way they treated him, although they were trying their best to compensate him for what that old hag had done to him, but Eclipse didn't bother about it.
Why? If this was from the previous timeline where he was still nothing but a half-blood noble who craved for his family's attention and acknowledgement, he would have fell for that act but that was not the case anymore in this current one.
'I would have at least forgiven them if they just tried to believe me in the previous timeline where I got framed from the other crimes that I didn't commit. I would have forgiven them if they tried to at least defend me from those other schemes but who am I thinking about that? Heh….'
The only crime that he had committed in the previous timeline was none other than about the order to assassinate the Marchioness Charlotte and nothing else after that.
However, those people took advantage of the situation and framed him for those crimes that he didn't commit.
