Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 127: Not in the Villain Role

Chapter 127: Not in the Villain Role

*********

LOCATION: EVELLEN TERRITORY, WESTERN PART OF CLIFFTON EMPIRE

Just thinking about the mere thought of what had transpired in the previous life makes the world-hopper boil in anger for that moment.

'Why am I suddenly reminiscing those useless thoughts from my previous life as Ezekiel? Tsk! Curse it!'

Eclipse thought as he shook his head to ward off those disgusting memories from his previous life and he doesn't want to dwell on the past that much since he doesn't care about it anymore.

However, there are times where his thoughts would drift into those moments from his previous life as Ezekiel but other than that, nothing else matters to him anymore.

'Do I still have some attachment to my original life as Ezekiel even though that life is nothing but a planned script that was provided for me because of my role as the minor villain of the main storyline?'

The world-hopper didn't know what to think anymore but as someone who had lived for more than millennium years as a world-hopper from the Main House System, he shouldn't be so sentimental about his previous human life as Ezekiel.

"I think the auction event will about to start."

Eclipse snapped from his thoughts when he heard what Arico said and looked at his companion who stood up from his seat and went over at the balcony of the VIP room that was provided for them by the person-in-charge Frenan earlier at the entrance of the establishment.

'The people from earlier had recognize the [token] that I had brought out and from their expression, it seems like Rheina Clandestine's ancestor in this empire holds a highly important position for these aristocrats to be wary of them, especially to me, the holder of this [token].'

Eclipse thought as he put his one hand in his pocket but didn't dare to take out the [token] he got from Rheina as he frowns while thinking about it.

After that, he shook off his head and then, went over to the balcony as well, stood at Arico's side as both gentlemen looked down from where they stood as the event would take place soon and Eclipse observed the people who were invited to this event.

"It seems like the owner of this establishment are well-connected within the noble society of this empire of how many these aristocrats from different households had gathered in this place."

The Evellen Territory is the domain of countless merchants within the whole Empire since the ruling Lord of this territory is a household of merchants and had an affiliation within the Merchant Alliance of this Empire.

Not only that, but also there are rumors that the Duke Evellen household had ties within the Cliffton Royal family, but no one had proven that statement.

'From what the information provided to them from the guild, especially from the receptionist Rina, there are chances that the aristocrat that Gilbert Herrer is well-acquainted would be none other than the ruling Lord of this territory himself, Duke Evellen.'

If that were the case then, it would be a pain in the a** to recklessly meet that client and Eclipse didn't want to be caught in the middle of something that is related to any political intrigues within this empire.

'However, just thinking about Rheina Clandestine's origin household of this empire, I don't know if I just happened to walk into a landmine or something.'

But since he is relatively new within this empire and only had a handful of influence because of his adventurer status within the guild, he would likely to avoid any mess that he would come across before he could settle within the Capital city of Krom in this empire.

'I don't want to rely too much on the [token] that Rheina had given to him, but I will only take advantage of this [token] for emergency purposes and nothing else.'

For what Eclipse could have recalled, he only took advantage of the [token] at least twice only.

From the time he and Arico arrived at the Port of Cliffton Empire for inspection purposes and the last one is from this establishment for them to enter this place since they don't have an invitation on their own and could only gamble on the [token] Eclipse had.

As Eclipse had presented that [token] at the entrance, there is no doubt that word about him having this [token] would have reached within the Capital city.

Since based on his observation from the people around him when he took out the [token], their expression that varies from either anxiety, wariness, doubtful but what Eclipse had most noticed within their expression is that…. Fear.

Fear, as they take a glance at the [token] he had and most of them looked away from their direction and Eclipse didn't bother them earlier as both him and Arico followed the person-in-charge named Frenan to lead them into their respective rooms for them.

He snapped from those thoughts as he observed the people downstairs and then looked at the other balconies that were occupied by other noble households.

Although Eclipse didn't know any noble households of this empire, whether they were from lower-rank or higher-ranked, the former Young Master could have judged these aristocrats based on their appearances or how they presented themselves in the public.

'After all, nobles tend to flaunt their wealth with their appearance since that's the most common norm within the noble society.'

Also, the world-hopper could bet that most of the VIP rooms of this establishment were occupied by those high-ranking noble households of this Empire.

'There is also a chance that even the ruling Lord of this territory, Duke Evellen, might be present, together with Gilbert Herrer.'

There is also a portrait of Duke Evellen from the Adventurer Guild's branch in this territory when both of them had stepped foot into this territory and went to visit the guild branch of this place to get some information related to this territory.

Although it's highly unlikely that the guild would provide even the portrait of the ruling Lord of this territory and if word got out about this matter, a serious crime would have bestowed upon them if they were caught red-handed.

However, these kinds of information regarding the Duke Evellen household and its background and other information regarding the other nobles from this empire could be classified as a top-secret information that the Adventurers Guild had purchase from their high reliable sources and most of this information had been kept within the secret library of the guild.

The ones who were granted access to this top-secret information are none other than the Guildmasters, the golden-rank receptionists and the S-Rank adventurers only.

That's why Eclipse had gotten his hands about the information regarding Duke Evellen.

'It's nice to get this information even without the system interface as the guide since both me and Arico are S-Rank adventurers and had the privilege to get these things on our authority as an S-Ranks.'

It's a good thing that Eclipse didn't bother to suppress his power that much when they registered themselves as adventurers and although they could get some attention because of the power display but there is no time for us to act so weak and fragile.

'Also, I don't really like the troupe of [strong acting weak] thing and there are times when I find it irritating when I got into those cliché worldlines back in the day! Argh! The frustration that I got whenever the protagonist act some weak lamb ready to be butchered by the enemies!'

Most of his roles Eclipse had to portrayed back then as a world-hopper, there are times when he was just a background character without any influence within the plot but other times, he is often got the roles for supporting characters or the worst-case scenario that he even got the secondary male lead roles in those times!

'Argh! Don't start with me! Just thinking about those secondary male lead roles that I got before makes me want to puke that I need to act someone who mourns for their lost love! Ack!'

Not only that, but there is one worldline that Eclipse had that he almost change the genre of that worldline because he noticed the sudden changes within the male lead's attitude towards him, who got the supporting male lead role that time.

'Geez! I might have swung in both ways, but I only have done that for the roles and nothing else! Also, I don't want to get punished for something so stupid?!'

Just thinking about that one, it makes Eclipse wanted not to think about it and just the mere thought about that worldline's male lead, it gives him goosebumps.

However, even if that was the case then, he had played various roles in different worldlines and different themes that it feels like it's a repetitive route that he had done over and over again but he got used to it though.

But there is one thing that the world-hopper noticed in those worldlines that he had mission tasks for.

Is that… no matter how bad the character he had, whether it's slightly evil or not, he is always on the background characters, secondary male lead roles, supporting character but….

For once in his whole world-hopping journey…. he never portrayed a role as a villain, not even once.
