Chapter 59: Trial of Judgement
Chapter 59: Trial of Judgement
**************
In those dreams, Altron didn't know what reaction he was making upon seeing those dreams for the first time.
He didn't know why those dreams happened to him. Also, the mere fact that his younger brother, Ezekiel, would be placed on the trial is something he didn't expect.
They said dreams are the manifestation of a certain reality or a hint, more likely, a foresight of an unknown future that could happened anytime without warning.
The first dream that occurred with a little detail was about…. The trial courtroom of the Stellarus Empire.
At first, when that dream appeared, Altron felt like he was watching the scene from the spectator's viewpoint however, he couldn't hear the words they were trying to say within the courtroom.
Not only that, most of the audience within the courtroom were blurred and the First Young Master couldn't determine those people and only Ezekiel's exhausted and bruised state that he could see.
Those dreams keep on recurring over and over again whenever Altron tried to figure it out what they were saying, and he saw some scenes that Ezekiel was screaming from the above while tears are running down through his eyes and the First Young Master could see the despair within those cyan-colored eyes that he inherited from their father.
Whenever those dreams keep repeating, as much as Altron tried to speak or shout within those dreams, his voice could never be heard by everyone.
He also noticed that Ezekiel's appearance is a bit different in his dreams.
It's more likely to say was…. Within Altron's dreams, Ezekiel looks like he is in his mid-20's rather than in his teens.
People with a brain could tell what those dreams meant to.
A possibility of Ezekiel had done something that warranted him to be on the trial and the First Young Master could only think of one thing.
Treason.
But the question is… what kind of treason?
{... "P-prevent.... h-him.... f-from.... h-harm...." .... }
There are those voices again aside from the other one.
Prevent him from harm? Are those voices pertaining to Ezekiel?
Is there a meaning behind these scenes that Altron keep on dreaming?
But why does it feels like…. Not a dream but rather….
His memory? Or his fragmented memory from the future?
How is that even possible?
No matter what he thinks or find out what those scenarios means as whenever he dreamed off the trial, there were no sound and only those screams that he could heard that makes him even more frustrated to the point that he wanted to confront his younger brother about these matters but….
But his rational side wins and he didn't let these unpleasant dreams to succumb him further.
Sometimes, he questioned himself.
Why, out of all people, that these dreams keep happening to him?
Altron knows himself that he wasn't a good older brother to Ezekiel as when the child was brought back by the trusted people from the Marquis' side, the three siblings, especially Altron, loathed the mother and son duo who just appeared within their lives, just like that.
Also, the nerve of his father to introduce the mother and son and stated that they were going to live within the manor starting from that day.
He might loathe them, but Altron never harm them, and he just outright ignore them, followed by his other two siblings. They never treated Ezekiel as their younger brother and just ignore his existence within this manor.
Although, as of this moment, the three of them are trying their best to compensate their youngest brother for whatever they provide. Even thought Felicity couldn't interact with Ezekiel properly but the new clothes and other stuffs within his temporary quarters came from her and she is the one who even shopped those stuffs for him.
Harrison, on the other hand, gifted him a sword as a present with the Chevalier's bear insignia with two double edge swords as a representation of Ezekiel being part of the household.
As for him, since Ezekiel is living within the Chevalier household, as the heir apparent and the temporary head of the household, Altron tried his best to give the best treatment that Ezekiel should have received as the Third Young Master of the household. Whether he is an illegitimate child of their father or not, still, the blood flows inside him is still a Chevalier.
'However, even if they tried to do this, at the end, all of them are guilty for what happened to him.'
.....
...…..
.......
That's why… he couldn't help but to think as to why he is the one who keeps on dreaming about this scenario? If this scenario is a future event, then, is there some unknown entity that would try to warn him or prevent this incident from happening.
'If it is the latter then, just how?'
< ….. "It seems like you're quite smart for your own age. Despite only being the heir apparent of the Chevalier household but it seems like you have a great potential then. Impressive" ... >
For countless times that this dream keeps on occurring, a sudden voice whispered throughout his dreams and this time, it's a clear one.
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! WHAT ARE THESE DREAMS?! WHY WAS THE ONE ONLY PERSON I COULD SEE IS NONE OTHER THAN EZEKIEL?!"
< …. "You're still full of yourself, I see. Hmmm…. You ask me who am I? Well…. Let's just say…." ….. >
The sentence was cut off when a sudden swirl of magic interrupted Altron's dreams and the scenario that he keeps on dreaming about shattered like a glass in front of Altron and the man protected himself from the sudden blast but there are no little shards flying around.
He also protected his eyes from that light and as he adjusts himself to looked what's in front of him….
"—Kill the traitor!"
"—An ungrateful fellow! Shouldn't have live!"
"—Justice for the victims!"
"—Don't just exile him! Just execute that ungrateful fellow!"
"—A half-noble thinks himself being greater than the Crown?!"
"—The Chevaliers also needs to hold an account for this?!"
'What in the hell—?!'
Now those muted screams from his dreams can be heard and he couldn't believe those words that he keeps on hearing.
Altron immediately looked at the center and saw how Ezekiel stays still while the audience around him keeps screaming for his execution.
"WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!"
< ….. "As you can see, it's the trial that would take place in the near future." ... >
Once again, that voice suddenly came from behind and immediately looked at the source of that voice.
However, no matter how he looked around, there was no one with him.
'Just what in the world….?'
< ….. "You have questions. I get it. However, I should warn you that everything you will learned from here, utilize everything you have and make a better judgement for you to learn the whole truth." ... >
He didn't why but he felt nervous all of the sudden.
'Make a better judgement? Does it mean… there is something about this future trial that Ezekiel would experience? Just what happened for him to be in this kind of situation?'
As he keeps on pondering what are those voices meant to be…. He looked once again at the front where the trial from his dream was taking place and he listened again to the spectators of what they were saying.
He saw one person who stepped forward towards the direction where Ezekiel still remained seated, or more precisely, where he remained on the floor, exhausted and beaten to the point where he couldn't take a rest.
'He might be a criminal in this scenario but isn't this going too far?!'
He watched the scene just like any other spectators within the audience and even before, no matter how he tried to shout out or called out from everyone, no one would listened to his pleas.
All he could do was nothing but to watch the scene unfold in front of him and from that mysterious voice from earlier, stated that he needed to make a better judgement in order to learn the whole truth.
Although he doesn't have any idea what that means but just for this one, he would set aside all of his theories and analyzation for the sake of the truth that the mysterious voice was talking about.
'Also, he wanted to know the truth himself. Whether this dream is just a power of hallucination or not, it will be better for him to judge within his own eyes and see the whole truth of this ordeal.'
He watches as the person who stood in front of the battered Ezekiel who didn't lift his head to looked up at the person who stood in front of him but from Altron's view, he could see Ezekiel was smirking while bowing down his head.
? ... "For the last time, Ezekiel. Answer me. Why did you do it? Why did you kill my mother, the Marchioness?!" …. ?
Altron was flabbergasted when he recognizes whose voice was that and he immediately went over at the scene at the center since no one noticed him so he focus his eyes on the person who stood in front of Ezekiel and said those words with a venom that could be akin to anger and hatred.
'Me?! B-but…. W-wait a minute?! What does he mean?!'
