Chapter 956 - Would Not Fall for Your Trap
Would Not Fall for Your Trap
Previously, Old Master Feng had thought of many methods and tried many methods as well, but they were no longer effective.
Now, if they wanted to be close to Qiao Nan, it was impossible to go harsh on her. If the Feng family dared to do anything atrocious, the Zhai family would not hesitate to retaliate. Therefore, they could only use the soft approach.
The Zhai family was righteous. Besides their hard-earned money and those given to them by the country, they had no other tricks up their sleeves.
The Feng family merely did some research and they found out about Qiao Nan’s current situation.
Qiao Nan lacked money while the Feng family had lots of money.
The Feng family’s plan was to offer her small favors and to boil the frog slowly. Qiao Nan would gradually acknowledge the Feng family as her kin.
The Zhai family had to leave the capital eventually, but Qiao Nan had to study in the capital for four years. This meant that the Feng family had four years to get close to Qiao Nan.
Once the Zhai family left the capital, Qiao Nan would be without their protection, and she would have to seek shelter with the Feng family.
The Zhai family might be willing to make the trip for Qiao Nan once or twice, but they would not do so for her three times, four times, or even a dozen times.
Old Master Feng could not help but sigh. Time was on their side. It could do the Zhai family in and tear down Qiao Nan’s defense against the Feng family.
Qiao Nan arched her eyebrows. “Did Shi Qing tell you about this?”
“Yes, Qing Qing is very concerned for you. After knowing that you are in need of help, she thought of seeking help from us. We are one family. Actually, you can come directly to us. There is no need to stand on ceremony.” Old Master Feng lied through his teeth and he did not feel the least shameful at all.
Qiao Nan shifted her foot and looked relaxed. “Thank you for the kind intentions, but I don’t need it for the time being.”
“If you are busy, I can arrange for Feng Meng to send the money directly to you.” Old Master Feng smiled on the other end of the phone. He did not care that Qiao Nan rejected his offer.
As long as Qiao Nan took their money, Qiao Nan would not be able to be rid of the Feng family in the future.
Qiao Nan leaned back. “I don’t care what Feng Meng wants to do. It is your family’s business. Since Old Master Feng asked me today, my answer is clear and simple—I don’t need your help. If he insists on supporting the clubs and events that the college students organize, all of the clubs will be very thankful for the help and support that the Feng family gives them.”
In short, if they really sent the money, Peking University’s students and the new English club would be thankful for their help. Her brain was not damaged. The money was for the club. How could she be made accountable for it?
She would never puff herself up at her own cost.
It was just Old Master Feng’s wishful thinking that she would be held accountable and she would not be rid of the Feng family in the future.
Old Master Feng tightened his grip on the phone. “It is because of you that the Feng family is willing to fork out money.” Without Qiao Nan, the Feng family would not spend a single cent on the school.
Qiao Nan laughed in anger. “I don’t know and don’t need to know the reason why the Feng family is willing to fork out money. All I know is that the money belongs to the Feng family. They are the only people who have the right to decide where their money will go to.”
The Feng family was willing to give the money by themselves. How dared they make her take responsibility for it?
Because of her?
She did not ask the Feng family to fork out money for the new English club on account of her. She would not stop them if they insisted on doing so. However, she must make things clear right from the start.
If they gave money to the club, they did it willingly and on their own accord. It had nothing to do with her.

Old Master Feng might have wanted to make her take responsibility for it, but she was not willing to go along with him.
In short, she would not stop the Feng family from sponsoring the club. However, if they wanted to make use of this to have ties with her, it was absolutely impossible.
Old Master Feng was so angry that his hand shook. It had been years since someone dared to use this attitude with him. A young lady who had no influential background would actually dare to speak to him in this way, disregarding his feelings. The Zhai family was indeed her strong backing!
In Old Master Feng’s opinion, Qiao Nan dared to be disrespectful to him and put on airs because she had the Zhai family as her support. In fact, it was the truth.
Without the Zhai family, the Feng family would not want to be related to Qiao Nan or create trouble for her.
Of course, since it was due to the Zhai family that she landed herself in such trouble, she would not reject their help. She would need their help to solve the problem of the Feng family.
Since the Zhai family supported her, Qiao Nan did not fear Old Master Feng as she had the Zhai family to fall back upon.
“Good, very good. You are very brave.” Old Master Feng let out a breath as if to let out all his anger. “It’s fine that you don’t need our help now. We are relatives. If there is anything, we need to discuss it. If you need our help, you can give me a call. I will get Feng Meng to send the money to you.”
He knew very well what kind of people the Zhai family was.
Qiao Nan needed sponsorships, but no one in the Zhai family would help her.
Not everyone in the capital knew about Qiao Nan’s relationship with the Zhai family. If the Feng family put some pressure on the businesses in the capital, regardless of how good Qiao Nan was with her words, no one would provide her with sponsorships.
“Alright. I will remember your words.” Qiao Nan could not be bothered to say that it was impossible or to feign civility. What she had to do now was to end the call. “Goodbye, Old Master Feng.”
“Goodbye.” Old Master Feng, who had made up his mind, ended the call. There would be a day when Qiao Nan would come asking for help.
Qiao Nan hung up the phone and put it back into her pocket. She turned to see Xu Shengnan and Zou Wenxuan, who were in shock. They were dumbstruck.
Qiao Nan touched her face with her hand. “Do I have flowers on my face?”
Xu Shengnan and Zou Wenxuan shook their heads.
Qiao Nan was baffled. Since she did not have any flowers on her face, why would her seniors stare at her with such an incredulous expression?
Zou Wenxuan wore a perplexed expression on her face. “Someone wanted to lend you money and you rejected him?” Unless they had their own way of solving the money issue, whenever they needed to look for sponsorship, they would have to go around begging for help. Someone wanted to sponsor the club and was rejected outright. Zou Wenxuan had never seen such an absurd situation.
Xu Shengnan moved her mouth. She did not know if she should severely criticize Qiao Nan or ask Qiao Nan what was going on to satisfy her gossipy nature.
It was the sponsorship that they had been talking about. It was offered even without them doing anything, yet Qiao Nan rejected it.
Xu Shengnan felt as if her heart was bleeding. It ached tremendously.
