On the dining table the next morning, Reina did not see Jaylon.

She did not ask Anaya where he went. She picked up the spoon and silently drank the

soup.

When she took a sip, her hand that was holding the spoon stopped in the air.

blame him. She could only calm down and say, “Sorry, it didn’t hit you on purpose.”

The middle-aged man bent down and patted his pants. He was still complaining, “Do you

mother died not long ago. I thought no one would hold a funeral for

her. I didn’t expect you to come back.”

Anaya whispered in Reina’s ear, “Do you know him?”

“He is my uncle, Edward Zeiss,” Reina said after a few seconds.

Before Lacey’s funeral, Reina called her grandmother. She wanted to hold a simple

funeral for Lacey.

But her grandmother had blacklisted Lacey, so Lacey couldn’t reach her at

all.

When Lacey went to the place where her grandmother lived before, she heard from the

neighbors that her grandmother had moved away several

months ago.

She thought that she would never meet her mother’s family again in this life, but she did

not expect to meet her uncle today.

Lacey hadn’t been a good girl since she was a child because of Edward.

The children of the Zeiss family were a disappointment, but because

Edward was a boy, the elders doted on him more. They ended their relationship with

Edward sized Reina up and finally fixed his eyes on her big belly. “Reina, are

you pregnant?”

Edward stared at her for a while and suddenly laughed.

There was too much contempt and sarcasm in his laugh, which made her

feel uncomfortable.

“I remember that you are not married yet, right? You are pregnant before

getting married.”

Reina clenched her fingers and felt embarrassed. She subconsciously

retorted, “No.”

Edward didn’t believe it and sneered. “You are lying. I have never heard of you getting

married. Maybe you don’t even know who the child’s father is,

right?

“Sure enough, you are like your mother. Shame on you. You must be fooling around with

men all day!”

Reina’s nails dug deep into her palms. She bit her lips and didn’t speak.

Hearing him belittle Reina, Anaya got angry.

Before she could say anything, someone suddenly grabbed Edward’s

shoulder from behind.

That man’s hand seemed to be made of iron. Edward couldn’t move at all.

That man clenched his hand hard as if he was going to break Edward’s

shoulder.

Edward gasped in pain and almost cursed.

Without waiting for Edward to speak, the man coldly warned him from

behind, “Sir, when talking to my wife, please watch your tongue.”

Without waiting for Edward to respond, the man passed by him and walked

in front of Reina.

Jaylon stood beside Reina. He was tall and had long legs. His eyes were indifferent. His

eyes were dark and deep. There was a dangerous aura in his

eyes.

“Reina, who is this?”

“My uncle.”

Jaylon’s cold eyes were still fixed on Edward as if he was threatening

Edward.

He lowered his voice and asked Reina, “You still haven’t told your uncle that

we are married, right?”

Reina did not reply to him, nor did she refute him. She sat there quietly.

Edward looked at the man in front of him, who was half a head taller than him. Edward

suddenly felt he was even shorter.

It was not about the height. He felt that he was much humbler than Jaylon.

Edward asked suspiciously, “Are you married? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Jaylon said calmly, “We didn’t tell you about her mother’s death. Why should we tell you

about our marriage?”

Edward had long blacklisted Reina. He did not know if it was because Reina

really did not inform them or if she couldn’t reach them. However, he

couldn’t argue with it.

“Reina, let’s go home.” Jaylon reached his hand to Reina without looking at

Edward.

Reina recovered from the shock and didn’t know if she should hold his

hand.

She raised her hand and quickly retracted it.

Jaylon’s eyes flashed. He stretched out his arm and grabbed her wrist. His

other hand held her shoulder. He pulled her into his arms. His voice was

hoarse and magnetic. “Let’s go home.”

Reina pursed her lower lip and nodded softly. Then she left with him.

Anaya stood up with the dog. Edward didn’t dare to call Jaylon, so he planned to grab

Anaya’s arm and ask for an explanation.

Before Edward could touch Anaya, someone grabbed his shoulder, covered

his mouth, and dragged him into a grove on the side.

Reina heard the movement. She turned around, only to see the trees

shaking. Edward was gone.

She took the leash in Anaya’s hand and led Sammo for her. She asked doubtfully, “Ana,

did you see my uncle?”
