Chapter 728: Mission Pavilion Part 1
Kana left her courtyard and headed towards the mission pavilion. It was a place where disciples could take on missions and, if completed, could earn contribution points which were used to gain resources.
The mission pavilion was actually on the other side of the sect from where Kana's courtyard was, so she took this time to really check the sect out as she had not once been able to really look around. The layout of the roads leading to other parts of the sect were kept quite clean and orderly. This was because one of the missions of the mission pavilion was to clean the outer sect, and many disciples could take this mission on every day. Kana already knew this because Mei Ling would take this mission on all the time. It was her only way to get resources at this time as she did not have the ability to go out of the sect without someone stronger helping her.
Kana kinda felt bad. She wanted to help Mei Ling out more, but she was unable to be near her. Mei Ling also reminded her of her daughters and did not wish to see the little girl get hurt for any reason. It was one of those times when maternal instincts kicked in for Kana. To Kana, Mei Ling was a cute girl who was without a family. She liked to hang on to Kana due to her motherly aura. But now, because of Kana's death element, she was unable to even get close to Kana. When Kana saw Mei Ling's dejected face when she returned, she felt like she had just committed a crime.
But sadly, she had no choice. She had not seen Mei Ling since then, but Nana had taken her to her room to explain things. Kana hoped Mei Ling would understand that it was not that she was ignoring her or did not want her around, it was just that it was too dangerous.
Kana was lost in thought as she roamed through the sect making her way towards the mission pavilion. She had no idea how many people were staring at her because she had long gotten used to their stares. She just minded her own business as she walked along. That was until a group of people suddenly stood in front of her.
"Look at this. I did not know they allowed demonic beasts into the sect. Maybe I should force you to sign a contract with me. That way, you can wash my feet for me." A young man said with a haughty laugh.
Kana frowned before closing her eyes and shaking her head. Only when she opened them again did she finally say something. "I am warning you right now it is best to stay a few meters away from me at all times, or else you will seriously regret your actions. Actually wouldn't even have the time to regret your actions."
"You! You dare threaten me!? Do you know who I am!?" The young man was angered by Kana's words. He had never been threatened by anyone. No one dared to say a word against him. If he told you to jump, you would jump, or else he would have his family destroy those who go against him.
"Why would I care who you are? I am just making a statement to warn you ahead of time this way, if you die, I will not be responsible for it. I do not want to be held responsible for some privileged spoiled brat's death just because you did not heed my warning. Even if your whole clan came right at this moment, they would all share the same fate. So do not give me the whole haughty young master routine as it will not matter to me if one of you comes or a thousand of you come. So please, for your own sake, use what little brains you have to just continue on your way." Kana answered loudly so everyone who was watching could hear her. Her words caused those watching to actually suck in a cold breath. They wanted to know where Kana got the guts to say such things to Daun Shijian.
"Hahaha! You really do sound domineering, saying that even if a thousand of my clan members come, they would share the same fate. Do you not know how powerful my Daun family is? Just a single elder from my Daun family can destroy you with a simple thought." Daun Shijian retorted with a sneer.
"Let's see just how much of your words are actually talk. If I do not make you my spirit beast by the end of today, then my last name is no longer Daun!" Daun Shijian yelled out as he raised his fist and wrapped it with spiritual qi. His clothse fluttered as the spiritual qi in his body burst out of him as he charged forward.
Seeing the foolish privileged young master, Kana could only sigh in defeat. "I guess the heavens want you dead as well."
Kana gave Daun Shijian a pitied look before snapping her fingers, waving her hand, and walking forward. Duan Shijian, whose body turned to dust but was quickly blown away by the wind from Kana's hand as she walked forward, ignoring everyone's stupefied gaze. No one understood what just happened. They did not understand why Duan Shijian just turned into dust to be blown away by the wind. It made no sense because they did not even feel any spiritual qi fluctuations from Kana just now.
As Kana passed the goons who came with Daun Shijian, she paused her steps and said: "Instead of spending your time trying to suck up to some privileged young master, your time would be better spent cultivating and gaining resources to gain strength so one day you could be that privileged young master."
Leaving these words behind, Kana continued her leisurely walk to the mission pavilion as if what she just did, did not happen. Off in the distance watching from afar, Elder Ning let out a sigh. "Why do these disciples never just listen. I guess we will need to deal with the Daun family on this, so I should report to the sect master. But that little girl…. She jumped an entire realm in a single night. She never ceases to keep surprising me."
